Ebony & Red!!

Hi all and Happy Thursday to ya!  One more day till the weekend--YAY!  We've got a busy weekend this time--my niece turns 3 and has her party on Saturday, then Saturday night is Date Night for me & the hubster (and yes dinner & movie that includes seeing "Date Night" w/ Tina Fey/Steve Carell), LOL!  Then Sunday we have to finish the flower beds out fron, put together my new solar fountain bird bath and then I have a party to go to at a friend's house--whoosh!  And of course lots of projects to finish up in the meantime too!  Weather is supposed to be beautiful today so we're going to have dinner on our golf club's patio this evening and enjoy a bit of time together and spring!

NewsBitz:

-The Fan Club Gallery is now up for everyone if you're a Fan Club member at Splitcoast Stampers (if not & want to be, see here).  That means the Dirty Dozen DT (including me) has all their projects up for you and the theme this time is VINTAGE (my fave)!  A lil' sneak peek for you below of one of my projects--I can't share any them on my blog for at least 6 mos. so this is it, hee hee!

-Class 4 is almost done for my Online Copic Classroom and it's up now for pre-registration (discounted pricing) if you're interested HERE (click Classroom Tab and page down) for a class description, pricing & supply list!  For the first 3 weeks I'm taking $3 from each Class 4 registration plus $100 of my own money and donating it to a great cause--this time it will go to UNICEF which I think is a brilliant & wonderful charity that serves this great big world we live in!  They educate, rescue, feed, give medical aid and help to those in need around the WORLD and you know your money is being used wisely.  I think it's so important to give back and if you've followed me regularly you know I pick different charities every now & then to support (past ones have been women's shelters, children's charities and animal rescue groups).  Once monies are collected I'll post the receipt/invoice to Unicef here on the blog for all to see--hoping for a good tally!!  There is a lot of need here in our country and around the world!  And if you don't buy a class but would like to donate some $$ email me and we will add you to the group funds!!

Copic Creations Challenge - Ebony & Red!!

Today is the 15th which also means it's Copic Creations Challenge Time and this week the challenge is black hair!  Our sponsor this week is the fabulous The Greeting Farm and they have generously donated each of the DT members with a wonderful digi image to use and a great prize gift for a lucky participant too!  I chose this happy digi image "Dressy Ebony" (there's a rocker Ebony too) which seemed very appropriate for the challenge, lol!  And I got to use my 2 most favorite colors as well--black & red.  The black papers are by My Mind's Eye "Lush" line and the red is from "Lily Bee Designs".  That fun sentiment is from PTI's set "Handwritten Notes" (you know I'm a total PTI and sentiment addict right), ribbon is PTI too!!

I colored this lil' gal's hair with C9,C7,C5 & C3 then added a few white highlites.  I have a video tutorial on coloring black hair (at top of blog, click on the tutorials/templates tab)--it can be tricky making it look black & not gray so you have to practice at it.  You don't want to use anything below a "3" copic when coloring black hair, and do most of your coloring with your darker colors.  I added some diamond glaze to her shoes and headband for some shine--gave her skirt some white polka dots as well to match the paper!  I just love her and think she's super sassy & cute!

Now make sure & hop over to the Copic Creations Challenge Blog and see the rest of the DT's fabulous projects with The Greeting Farm stamps and find out how you can join in too!

See ya tomorrow--have a goodie!

Glamour Gal

I got some new craft "stuffin's" in the mail while I was away and I couldn't wait to play!  This lil' gal is called "Cheeky Glamour" and she's from The Greeting Farm---I just had to have her!  She reminds me of the 40's pin-up girls and Marilyn Monroe don't ya think?

I also got my new 8x8 paper pad of Graphic 45's "Le' Romantique" which I just adored when I saw it at CHA--perfect match for this lil' gal I say!  Those rose-pearl swirls are new from Prima as well--I love the small roses they've added--bought me a nice stash of them, lol!  The ribbon is a sparkly sheer ribbon I picked up at Michael's $1 bin and it's so pretty and makes a great double bow (with my Bow Easy).  I distressed all of my papers with my Tonic Tim Holtz Distress Tool (still waiting on my Zutter machine, hee hee) for a more vintage look to match the papers.  Stickles on her feathery boa wrap and diamond glaze on her shoes & eyes to finish this off!

Hope you enjoyed this Cheeky Glamour card today & I'll see you back here on Monday!

Enjoy Life

Today's card features a fabulous Greeting Farm stamp called "Twinkle Tots Izzy"--and 7 Kids College Fund now has all the great Greeting Farm stamps in stock HERE (twinkle tots will be re-stocked soon)!  I think she's just a little beauty!  I used some fabulous K&Co. papers (thanx S) called Floral Dreams--such pretty patterns and colors!  I used my Tonic Distress Tool to rough up the edges and put some of my fave Stardust Stickles (my go-to fave now) on her jacket and hat.  I layered some more Primas and Prima Roses together and the green swirlies are from a fab Cuttlebug Die set HERE.

The sentiment is from a PTI set and is called "Handwritten Notes" and the ribbon is also from PTI, it's cut out with the Nestabilities Labels 4.  The bow tied with my Bow Easy and topped off with some flowers.  The border was punched with a MS border punch--it has a matching corner punch as well (I luv it)!

I colored her with Copics of course---I used V99,V95,V91,V000/B02,B01,B00,B000/E13,E11,E00/E35,YR21,YR20.  You can find a great selection of Copics HERE.  Hope you like this cutie as much as I do!!

See ya back here tomorrow with some fab Pink Cat Studio Digi Releases!

Happy Fairy Thursday everyone! How has everyone's week been so far? Busy, busy, busy is mine--what else in new, hee hee! Today I am working all day on projects, I have nowhere to be, just lots to get done. I'm only sharing one project with you today, because tomorrow I will have lots since its the FUN 1st of the Month!!!

I used yesterday's SCS sketch #226 for this fairy-licious card! I looked at the sketch for awhile, stumped--LOL--it looked a lil challenging but I figured it out!! I have had this Greeting Farm "Fairy Chloe" for quite awhile, always wanting to use it, just not enuff time, but I knew she'd be perfect for this sketch. I paired her up with this awesome dp from Dream Street Papers called "Fresh"--isn't it lovely? The sentiment is from Whiff of Joy & the flowers are Primas with glitterdots in the centers! I cut the sentiment out with my Shapeabilities Ribbon Tag Trio--love those!

Isn't she just a cutie-pop? I love her! I added lots of diamond stickles on her wings for some extra fantasy bling!!

Knights & Princesses!!

Hello & Happy Saturday everyone! Hope you're getting a good start on your weekend already! We actually have nothing special planned other than some shopping for a couple of new rugs and possibly a stop at Joann's & Michaels (hee hee)! Not such a nice weekend here in VA--doesn't feel very spring like at all Hope better weather is on its way real soon!!

Blog Candy #1 is still open until tonight at midnight--you can enter HERE.
Blog Candy #2 is open until Sunday at midnight--enter HERE.
Blog Candy #3 will be up tomorrow to end my weeklong Blogaversary!!

My first project today is a Medieval dinner invite I made using some of the Whiff of Joy Medieval Collection stamps. I love this castle image and have lots of plans for it to use with some of my knight & fairy stamps. I made a revised tri-fold invite for a dinner party. This dp is from Paper Pizazz and I thought it was very appropriate for these stamps :o) I stamped some swirl stamps from Verve on top of the paper to add some more character to the paper.

On the inside, I colored w/ Copics the "Great Hall" scene and added some stickles to the fire and some silver spica glitter pen to the metal areas on the image (cups, plates, chandelier). I printed all the writing onto cream cs from my computer. I ink distressed all the edges using my Inkssentials Distress tool. This would also make a cute kids birthday card or invitation by switching out the "great hall" image for the "dragon" & "knight".
So many possiblities!SmileyCentral.com

Second card today uses this cute "Princess Anya" stamp from The Greeting Farm--love these gals! I kept it kinda simple so she was the main focus of the card and I love this dp from DCWV "Whimsy" stack. Colored with copics and I added stickles to her dress, wand, and crown. That lovely ribbon is Doodlebug Boutique Trims--so fun! Just a fun, pretty card to give!

I also have a new video tutorial up on my sidebar under "Other Video Tutorials" about tying bows & flat knots if you're interested. You can also see it here:

Have a great Saturday & don't forget to stop by tomorrow to enter for one final BLOWOUT BLOG CANDY!!!

Monday, Monday!!

Hello & Happy Monday to ya! Did ya have a good weekend--I sure hope so!! I had a wonderful weekend, the weather was sunny and nice and my mom came to visit (waving "hi" mom)! We went to see "A Chorus Line" and I really enjoyed it--I just love Broadway shows and musicals, wish I could afford to see them every month :o) Yesterday it was in the high 60's and we were able to get outside and go for a long walk with the doggies and eat lunch outside--I just love spring weather. And I'm happy to say that hubby bought me a brand-spankin' new Flash Drive video camer---yahoooo. He even got me a mini tripod for my desk so I was able to shoot 6 videos for ya yesterday! (see below for links)

I am working on some big projects to share with you this week and my BLOG CANDY to celebrate my 1 year Blogaversary coming on Wednesday--you won't want to miss it!

Today my card uses another image from The Greeting Farm's "Miss Anya Collection"--I just love these girls. I paired this one up with some beautiful dp from Basic Grey's "Porcelain" stack, so soft and pretty. I made another hat pin (which I love to do) and added some pink Kaiser pearls to accent. I love how this one turned out! Whatcha' think?

Happy St. Paddy's Day!!

Happy St. Patricks's Day to you all (the Irish gal in me is smiling)! Do you do anything for the holiday? The kids always get a little gift from a lucky leprechaun but that's about it here at our house:o) Although when they were little, we used to do green eggs & ham and fun stuff like green jello or kool-aid, but now that they're older they don't care anymore, hee hee! Alrighty, I'm keeping my chitter chatter to a minimum today, cuz' this is a LONG post--so make sure you go all the way to the end, 'kay!!

Today is Tuesday, so that means its Try It Out Tuesday over on Susana's Custom Art & Card Design store blog, Follow Your Heart! I challenged the DT to make their cards/projects using only the color green & one neutral to celebrate St. Patty's Day :o) I used Lockhart's beautiful "Tulips" stamp for my card--my favorite flower of all is tulips and I love white & yellow tulips the most so white tulips it is today, hee hee!

I also incorporated the Technique Challenge from SCS yesterday which was to make these beautiful ribbon frames (see here)--I love it & it was so simple to do too--very elegant! The sentiment is from PTI's "Spring Tag Collection" & yes I really love that set, hee hee. (BTW, hubby bought me ALL the new PTI goodies this month again, of course he was half sleeping on the couch when he agreed to it--love that man, lol).
I colored my image with Copics and then layered over the flowers and leaves with the fun, new metallic paints called "Smooch". I used it in "green apple" & "moonlight"--really fun stuff & such cute bottles they come in too! Make sure and stop by the store blog to see the rest of the DT's projects!

I promised you a sneak peek of the new Guardian Angels from Whiff of Joy today! I don't know the names of any of the stamps yet, but isn't she a beauty! I colored her with copics to match this yummy dp from Anna Griffin! The sentiment and lovely scrolls I used are also new from Whiff of Joy--there are so many great images in this new release. You can buy them on March 22nd and I will have another peek for you tomorrow (hint: confirmation & baptism):o)

Last but certainly not least is this cute Greeting Farm card I made with that cute-a-licious set "Home Sweet Home". Isn't he just the cutest lil' pup with his stuffed bunny--I could just squish him! This set is a MUST-HAVE for doggie lovers like myself!!! The dp is from my stash so I'm not sure who makes it; I distressed it a bit to look more primitive! Today I'm being spotlighted over on The Greeting Farm's blog for being their Guest Designer this month if you'd like to hop over there & take a look :o)

Hope you enjoyed my montage of projects today! I'll have 3 more for you tomorrow too, lol! Busy week here at ScrapBitz for sure!:o)

Easter Palooza!!

Happy, happy Saturday everyone! I've got lots to get done today, so I'll keep this short for ya today. No big monologue from Suzanne, LOL! Both today & tomorrow, will be an explosion of Easter projects for ya. Tomorrow the H&M Stamps DT will be having an Easter blog hop that you won't want to miss. Lots of fun & creative Easter gift ideas for ya--so make sure and check it out tomorrow!

My first project today is an Easter Coaster card made with 2 med. weight coasters from my large collection (remember my box of 800 coasters--still trying to get thru them all, lol). Such a fun way to make a card--easy for the recipient to display for the holiday too.

I used this cutie-pie (love this stamp so much) Bunny Tilda stamp that you can get at Magnolia-licious! If you haven't checked out the new Magnolia Easter Collection, you really shoud--its super cute & you can see it HERE! The Easter Egg stamp is from Alota Rubber Stamps--perfect to sit a Tilda on too. The yummy dp is from Basic Grey's "Two Scoops" pad. Sentiments are a combo from PTI's "Spring Tag Collection" and a Studio G stamp (from my friend Marti)!

Just a close-up to show you the Shimmerz I used--lovee that stuff--I used Angel Wingz here. If you only want to get one color of Shimmerz, make it Angel Wingz because you can layer it over any color--its super sheer!

Second card could be an Easter card, Love ya card or even a Valentine's Day card. These cute lil' bunnies are from The Greeting Farm set "Pretty Hat"! In this set you can change the animal heads to a bunny, dog or cat--love that :o) I decided to make a girl & boy bunny--I added a lil' bow to her head and drew some fluffy tails on them! Aren't they cute? The sentiment is from Studio G and the dp is from SU. A fun & quick card--I just love it!

Alrighty, so don't forget to stop by tomorrow for the H&M Stamp's Blog Hop! And also, on Monday I will have sneak peeks of the new Whiff of Joy stamps that are coming on the 22nd!

Have a great weekend--
hugz,
Suzanne

Hodge Podge!

Hello & How are ya? Almost Friday, are you counting down, hee hee? I think Friday should be part of our weekends so we always have a 3-day weekend! Dontcha' think everyone would be sooo much happier :o) I think everyone is too busy, works too much and everyone needs to just slow down! That's my cure to a less grumpy society, whaddya think--LOL! Anywhoo, I've got 2 very different projects to share with ya today....

Okay, confession time for ya---I'm not a crier, random musing yes I know. I hate to cry, don't do it very often and just overall do not like crying or whining (even from my kids)! But this project made me tear up just a bit yesterday. A year and a half ago we lost our first "baby" of 13 years, our beloved mini schnauzer named "Trinket" to cancer. She was me & my hubby's first baby before we had actual "human" babies, lol--and she was special. She had big ears, was super high maintenance & had to pee constantly--but I loved her dearly and it was so hard when we lost her. I still miss her everyday and it really was like losing a child to me--for 13 years she was my constant companion, always happy & just plain ole loving & always giving us a good laugh!

Anywhoo, the lil' schnauzer dog in this stamp got me remembering her and tearing up a bit, so I thought I'd share that w/ ya :o) I just adore this stamp set from The Greeting Farm called "Home Sweet Home"--the animal images are just too stinkin' cute for words! And this image sums up my home on a daily basis--with 7 furbabies in the house there is always a mess, something chewed up and chaos always--but I LOVE it!

I had picked up this unfinished wood wall hanging from Michaels awhile ago (for like $.75) and finally got around to using it by making myself this fun hanger! I just covered it with my Coredinations cs (nice & heavyweight cs) and the dp is some old paper from AC Moore (Happy Scrappy I think)--so fun! Colored with Copics & I cut it out using my Curvy Rectangle Nestabilities. The lil' sentiment has 2 coats of Diamond glaze on top for shine too and love this ribbon by Stampin' Up! I left the wood unfinished because I liked the vintage look of it all together--do you likee? I'm going to hang it up in my laundry room---love it! And I have 2 more cards with this stamp set coming next week!

Second card today, uses Storage Units, Ink & More's new Easter set called "You're Some Bunny Special". These sets are so much fun to make scenes with like the one I created above. I paper pieced her lil' dress coat and added the Easter Basket with dimensionals. I love the spring green & baby blue colors together, so pretty & different for an Easter card. I stamped the sentiment directly on the dp and added fun ribbon from PTI, Kaiser pearls , the dp is "Two Scoops" by Basic Grey!

Remember that today by (11 pm PST) you need to have your entries in for the Guest Designer spot for Susana's Custom Art & Card Design if you're wanting to do it! You can find all the details for that right HERE!

Hope you enjoyed my rambling today (lol) and I'll see ya back here tomorrow!
hugz,
Suzanne

Diva-licious!!

Happy Monday everyone! I had a wonderful weekend, how 'bout yourself? The weather was in the 70's (wahoooo), we spent time outside and with wonderful friends annnnnnddd....I got my laptop fixed (thanks bunches Dan)!! I even survived a torturous visit to the mall to get pants for my kids (not a fun time when everyone whines, noone wants to try on anything & blah blah ya know with pre-teens)! So I have a busy, busy week and lots of projects to share with you this week!

So I'm sharing with you today a card I made a bit ago and hadn't shared with you yet. This stamp set is from The Greeting Farm and called "Pretty Hat"! Such a fun set because you can change her hat accessories AND change the doggie's head, hee hee (to a bunny or cat)--talk about some versatility! I think she has such a '40's vibe to her--so diva-licious! I added Diamond Glaze to her buttons & necklace for a nice shine too!

The fun dp is by My Mind's Eye "Tres Jolie" and my image is colored with my Copics of course. If you're new to Copics or need some help with them, don't forget to check out my Copic Bundle Tutorials & tips on my sidebar. You can also buy all of those Copic Bundle Sketch Markers at Susana's Custom Art & Card Design too--great way to get started or add to your collection! Those are NEW metallic dew drops I used on this card, they are really beautiful & shiny IRL and come in many colors--love them! Make sure and check out all The Greeting Farm stamps--they are so much fun to use & color!

Alrighty, that's all for me today! Now that I have my laptop back I will start editing my Copic video tutorials for ya so that they're up real soon!

Miss Anya & a Contest!!

Hello & Happy Thursday to you all! I am not a very happy camper today I must say :o( My laptop has crashed and the antibiotics I got for my sinus infection are not working as well as they should. Let's just say that my laptop crashing, is like lightning has struck me down. I have no access to my files, pictures, emails or anything. I'm hoping hubby is able to fix it today, if not we'll have someone come look at it on Friday. I'm able to use our desktop and downloaded Photoshop on it, but cannot do as much as I'd like to get done. Anywho, don't wanna bring ya down w/ my cloud, so we'll move on---LOL!

I am a lucky girl this month though---Marie of The Greeting Farm has asked me to be a Guest Designer for the month of March---Yahooooo! So I'll be sharing different projects with you all month featuring these wonderful stamps! Today my card uses a stamp from the "Miss Anya Collection"---great images for teens & grown-girls too! She's colored w/ Copics and I added stickles to her headband and skirt--a girls gotta have some bling ya know--LOL!

The fun clothing dp is by Colorbok (from JoAnns)--loved the colors in it! I also used a sketch I made for this month's challenge over on Susana's (SCACD) PaperCraft Planet site! And I was lucky enough to have these fabby Petaloo flowers w/ bling in my stash--matched perfectly! The sentiment is from Gina K's "Retro Boutique"--so fitting! Make sure and stop by The Greeting Farm to see all the fabby stamps--including some new fairies!
