No You Di'n't!!

Hi all and a great day to you! I'm hoping for lots more sun today after the week of rain we've had and the awful torrential rains from yesterday. I have 5 new videos to shoot and I need SUN to get them done, so crossing fingers. I have passed the point of exhaustion this week so I have no idea what I might say in the videos, LOL!  I have to transport children back and forth to sport practices all week too which is disconcerting to my planned day because I have to keep stopping, lol, but that's just the way of the world!  I tell my husband all the time that when you work from home you get LESS done during the day and end up working at night to catch up--unlike going to an office where you don't have to start & stop to do things around the house KWIM!  Much different!  Anywho, I'll keep this short so I can get on with business today and leave you beeeeee too!

No You Din'n't!!

Today is a fun challenge day over at Paper Romance Store--check it out and the DT samples at the store blog HERE!  Amy the owner is the hostess this week and she challenged us to use some metal elements on our project!  Not a problem!  And I got to use this fabulously cute High Hopes image by Dustin Pike called "Catching Some Rays"!  LOVE it!

As most of you know I have 5 cats and 2 dogs so I love working with cute animal images!  This one called "Catching Some Rays" just made me laugh out loud, my cats are always getting into something every hour of the day.  It's like having a daycare full of little children I tell ya :)  The sketch I used is this week's SCS Sketch #294 (I flipped it) and I used some Cosmo Cricket and SU papers--love the vibrant, fun colors!  I used my Bow Easy to create a bow and then I clipped the bows and frayed them all for a fun look.  The sentiment is from an older Hannah Stamps set that I have been dyin' to use and this image was perfect for it--I can just hear the mouse squeakin' "NO You Di'n't!!", LOL! can't you?  That aqua background was embossed with a new CB folder set "Retro Kitchen".

The image was colored with Copics and then I added some Diamond Glaze to the fish bowl and kitty's nose for a glassy shine--stickles on the x-ray frame for bling!  My metal tag I bought in a pack of 20 from my local office supply store.

Hope you'll stop by to join in the challenge at the store blog HERE and stop by the Paper Romance store HERE as well!  See ya tomorrow with hopefully a video or two :)

Kitty Pals!

Hi everyone and Happy Tuesday to you all!  I'm back from my vacation to Disney World and had a wonderful time and celebrated my birthday with my family--for which I am very thankful!  Hubby and I had such a fun time in Disney--the weather was PERFECT, sunny & warm and the parks not too crowded.  Although my feet are a little sore, we got to visit all our favorite parks and rides and just enjoy each other and have good-old-fashioned fun & lots of laughs.  OMG did I laugh--and I did get run over by one scooter who veered my way and almost took me out (foot is really sore) but I had to laugh cuz' stuff like that ALWAYS happens to me.  Then the next day someone ran over my same foot & ankle with their stroller, LOL--ack!  Gotta love crowds and moving people all cramming into one space ya know!

I will share pics with you all tomorrow as I have yet to upload them all and organize them into a slideshow.  We got home Monday around 3 pm and then went to an early dinner with the kids and my mother-in-law and then I worked the rest of the evening catching up on emails and other work stuff.  Thank you sooooooooooo much to all of you for my delightful birthday wishes and emails I received while I was away.  It means so much to me that you all took the time to leave me a comment or send me an email and I really appreciate that.  And to those that left messages on Facebook--thanks to you too--I was trying to download messages on my Iphone yesterday morning before we got on the plane and it was overwhelmed with messages--it only holds 200 emails and I had 780 emails waiting to be uploaded when I landed, LOL!  I thought the Iphone might implode--which would be a great excuse to get the new 4G one coming this summer (says Suzanne to hubby, lol)!!  But again, many thanks to you all for brightening my weekend and birthday--big hugz to you all!

Kitty Pals!

This post was supposed to have gone up on Sunday, but I had mighty darn problems with both blogger and the internet connection while I was in Disney.  Blogger decided to use my blog as a "test" blog with new functions and I did not have the time to figure out their new photo-loading functions--it was a pain and the internet connection was soooooo slow!  LOL!  So anywho, here is my card for the Magnolia-licious DT Sketch for May--this fabulous sketch was created by my DT sister Becca Feeken.  You can find all the fabulous details on this challenge/sketch on the Magnolia-licious Highlites Blog HERE.  I used a few older stamps from the "Pet/Animal Collection" from Magnolia-licious HERE!  The papers are all by DCWV's "At Home" stack--love the blues and browns in this collection of papers!

As most of you know I have 2 dogs and 5 cats (yes, that equals 7 animals, lol) and I love them all to pieces!  So I always love any stamp that has animals in them, including this cute "Tilda with Kitten" stamp and an older cat stamp from Magnolia (sorry couldn't find it).  There is also a cute stamp from the Pet Collection called "Cat" if you're interested in that--Diana doesn't have it in stock but if you email her she might be able to get some in for you! Usually I color my cats black & gray since that's what most of mine are but decided on an orange tabby this time (see below for colors).  This sketch gives you a great place to sit a Tilda/Edwin/animal on and I took advantage of that!  I distressed all my paper edges with my new Zutter Distress Tool (love that thing) and then for the corners I cut triangles out of some of my cs and then punched the edge with my EK Success border punch.  The ribbon was tied with my Bow Easy tool (Magnolia-licious now carries this HERE)--such a fabulous tool to make bows and I have a how-to video on it at the top of my blog under the Tutorials/Templates tab!  To finish it off I added some Zva Rhinestone swirls in the one corner for some bling!

**Want to Win some BDAY BLING?!  Answer on this post ONLY "What was your favorite birthday present ever?" and THREE (3) of you could each win a pack of NEW Basic Grey paper "Cappella" (6x6), a "Little Suzanne" stamp by Elisabeth Bell for SCACD, a Magnolia stamp of your choice, some Prima flowers and swirls (one pack of each) and a Viva Decor Pearl Pen (color of your choice). You have until Friday to enter (May7th)!**

Isn't Tilda and her cats just the cutest--look at those cute faces--say "awwwwwwwww"!! LOL!  I added some bling-y stickles to her headband and shirt.  They're all colored with copics and I used {dress: B97,B93,B91,B0000/Socks & Shirt: E43,E42,E41/Cats: E99,E97,YR20).

Now make sure and stop by the Magnolia-licious Highlites Blog to join in on the sketch-y fun!!  I'll see ya here tomorrow!

Got Lunch!!

Happy Weekend to you all---bet you're having a nicer one than me!  So far we have 25 inches and counting and it's still coming down hard---it's miserable I tell ya!  I'm so sick of white, I need COLOR!!  But we're hunkered down and I've been crafting and reading by my fireplace so it's all good--hubby does the shoveling!  And for fun last night I groomed the doggies so the snow didn't hang onto all their fur so much--they LOVED that, LOL!  Actually Casey (my older cairn) loves baths and to be groomed but Baylee is a whole 'nother story--she is not always so cooperative!  Casey is so funny in the snow--she sticks her head down in the snow and tunnels under it as much as she can--but she's no fun to clean up!

If you want to see a funny YouTube video, check out the dog below(This is NOT my dog though, LOL)--it still CRACKS me up! LOL!! Snow makes me wanna cry, but you might as well get some laughs along the way right?!!!

This pic was taken from my front porch at 10 pm last nite!!

Got Lunch!!?

Does this image not crack you up--I just love this image from Mo's Digital Pencil!?  This one is called "Lunchtime" and the kitty is actually drawn plain but I colored in some black spots to match our bad kitty Tinkerbell (yes, the butt biter and otherwise known as "Stinkerbell",LOL)!  While coloring the image with my Copics I kept thinking "Got Lunch" and knew it would be a cute sentiment, so I typed it up & printed it out--gives me a giggle!  That fabulous paper is some NEW stuff coming from Basic Grey called "Max & Whiskers" which I got as an early release (thx S)--it's so cute!  I used my pinking circle nesties to create my mats and embossed the aqua cs with one of my Asian Cuttlebug folders--ribbon and paper are from PTI.

A lil' bit closer up image to show you the diamond glaze I used on the olives and celery for shine!  I just adore this image I tell ya!
And this is "Tinkerbell" herself hanging out in my daughter's bathroom!!

Wishing "ME" Sunshine, LOL!!

Yes, I'm wishing myself some sunshine right now--LOL and this lil' cutie brings a smile to my face!  This is a fun new image from I Brake For Stamps and you get a whole sheet of cuties--see HERE!  (If you order, use the coupon code "SAVE10SUZANNE" to get 10% off your whole order)  This layout is this past week's SCS Sketch 266 and the papers are from DCWV's "Citrus" pack--nice & cheery!  The sentiment is from the PTI set "Scattered Showers" as is the ribbon.  I added a few rhinestones and CB'ed the yellow cs!

This cutie was colored with Copics of course and I gave her pants some white polka-dots, stickles on the umbrella and diamond glaze on the puddle and raindrops that I colored in!

Stay Safe & Warm!  I'll be back Super Bowl night with a special tribute to Haiti--so make sure and check in!
GO SAINTS!!!!  GEAUX SAINTX!!!!

Some Like It Hot!!

Happy Wednesday my friends! Some Like it Hot--hee, hee!! Do you? I like my weather hot, my shower hot, hot chocolate but NOT spicy hot food, LOL! My son on the other hand likes spicy food ALOT--last night we ate a restaurant that has varying degrees of hot wings & he ate the hottest, YUCKO--just the smell made my nose hurt, hee hee! He gets that lovely trait from his uncle & grandma (my mom & brother)--the rest of us are wimps when it comes to spicy! I mean Riley's favorite snack is a jalepeno pepper--ewwwwww! My idea of a snack usually involves something gooey with chocolate & caramel inside-LOL! Although Jillian Michaels is not too happy with me since I haven't exercised w/ her in 2 weeks, YIKES--she might come kick my butt, hee hee! But I have been running still, just gotta get back into a better workout routine once the kids start back to school. We've been all over the place this month with crazy bedtimes, meal times & such that somedays I don't even know what day it is! (well actually that's any day for me, hee hee) Anywho, my HOT projects today only involve my fave color combo-Hot Pink & Black!!

******************************************

So for all of my projects today I used the same dp from Paper Trey Ink (raspberry fizz & basic black)! For this notecard set I used the fabulous Lockhart Stamp Co. "Strawberries"--isn't it fab & you can get yours HERE!? I didn't really color my strawberries true to color cuz' I wanted them Hot Pink & fabulous, hee hee! My layout is from a sketch from last week's Verve Anniversary Challenges--love the faux quilt background ( I used my one inch scalloped square punch to make my cut-outs). The strawberries got diamond stickles & the bowl was coated w/ diamond glaze! The soft pink edges around the image were done w/one of my favorite tools that I use all the time on most of my images--the Ranger Inkssentials Blending Tool (buy extra sponges & tool here)! I just love this tool & in one of my YouTube videos I show how to use it (the Cardmaking Process video on sidebar)--very easy & gives such a soft effect!

I made 2 of these cards as a set (hard to part w/ I must say, hee hee) & they are for sale on my Etsy site if you're interested in them! Personally, I love how they turned out--LOL!

Next up is a birthday Magnolia card I made for a very special friend (it's making it's way across the country now, hee hee)! I decided to keep the theme the same & did strips of the dp instead of squares. I used a fabulously cute Magnolia from the "Pet Collection"--this is "Tilda w/ Cat" and she's available HERE at Magnolia-licious! I colored her with Copics to match my color combo & added some diamond glaze to her fun pink shoes! The dp, ribbon & sentiment (from Vintage Picnic) are all from PTI & the flowers are stacked Primas! The fun charm came from my friend Nikki of Bunny-Zoe's blog store right HERE--she has bunches of fab charms & super fast shipping :o) I hope the recipient loves it as much as I do--she was so much fun to make :o)

That's all for me today--I'll see ya tomorrow!

hugz,
Suzanne
