Hi everyone and Happy Tuesday to you all! I'm back from my vacation to Disney World and had a wonderful time and celebrated my birthday with my family--for which I am very thankful! Hubby and I had such a fun time in Disney--the weather was PERFECT, sunny & warm and the parks not too crowded. Although my feet are a little sore, we got to visit all our favorite parks and rides and just enjoy each other and have good-old-fashioned fun & lots of laughs. OMG did I laugh--and I did get run over by one scooter who veered my way and almost took me out (foot is really sore) but I had to laugh cuz' stuff like that ALWAYS happens to me. Then the next day someone ran over my same foot & ankle with their stroller, LOL--ack! Gotta love crowds and moving people all cramming into one space ya know!
I will share pics with you all tomorrow as I have yet to upload them all and organize them into a slideshow. We got home Monday around 3 pm and then went to an early dinner with the kids and my mother-in-law and then I worked the rest of the evening catching up on emails and other work stuff. Thank you sooooooooooo much to all of you for my delightful birthday wishes and emails I received while I was away. It means so much to me that you all took the time to leave me a comment or send me an email and I really appreciate that. And to those that left messages on Facebook--thanks to you too--I was trying to download messages on my Iphone yesterday morning before we got on the plane and it was overwhelmed with messages--it only holds 200 emails and I had 780 emails waiting to be uploaded when I landed, LOL! I thought the Iphone might implode--which would be a great excuse to get the new 4G one coming this summer (says Suzanne to hubby, lol)!! But again, many thanks to you all for brightening my weekend and birthday--big hugz to you all!
-I know I am behind in listing the Blog Candy Winner from the other week but I PROMISE I will do that tomorrow for you all!
-And as a special Birthday Blog Candy--you'll have to read below for that info! LOL
As most of you know I have 2 dogs and 5 cats (yes, that equals 7 animals, lol) and I love them all to pieces! So I always love any stamp that has animals in them, including this cute "Tilda with Kitten" stamp and an older cat stamp from Magnolia (sorry couldn't find it). There is also a cute stamp from the Pet Collection called "Cat" if you're interested in that--Diana doesn't have it in stock but if you email her she might be able to get some in for you! Usually I color my cats black & gray since that's what most of mine are but decided on an orange tabby this time (see below for colors). This sketch gives you a great place to sit a Tilda/Edwin/animal on and I took advantage of that! I distressed all my paper edges with my new Zutter Distress Tool (love that thing) and then for the corners I cut triangles out of some of my cs and then punched the edge with my EK Success border punch. The ribbon was tied with my Bow Easy tool (Magnolia-licious now carries this HERE)--such a fabulous tool to make bows and I have a how-to video on it at the top of my blog under the Tutorials/Templates tab! To finish it off I added some Zva Rhinestone swirls in the one corner for some bling!
**Want to Win some BDAY BLING?! Answer on this post ONLY "What was your favorite birthday present ever?" and THREE (3) of you could each win a pack of NEW Basic Grey paper "Cappella" (6x6), a "Little Suzanne" stamp by Elisabeth Bell for SCACD, a Magnolia stamp of your choice, some Prima flowers and swirls (one pack of each) and a Viva Decor Pearl Pen (color of your choice). You have until Friday to enter (May7th)!**
Isn't Tilda and her cats just the cutest--look at those cute faces--say "awwwwwwwww"!! LOL! I added some bling-y stickles to her headband and shirt. They're all colored with copics and I used {dress: B97,B93,B91,B0000/Socks & Shirt: E43,E42,E41/Cats: E99,E97,YR20).
Now make sure and stop by the Magnolia-licious Highlites Blog to join in on the sketch-y fun!! I'll see ya here tomorrow!
Welcome back Suzanne, glad you had such a wonderful time! One of my favourate birthday pressie's ever has to be my joint 18th with my brother we got half a mini (car)each, my dad taught me how to changle the oil etc, so needless to say was quite chuffed with myself lol! Take careX:)
ReplyDeleteOh Suzanne so excited at being first forgot say what a beautiful card, I so hope one day my colouring gets to be somewhere near yours lol! Take careX:)
ReplyDeleteHi Suzanne,
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card, love the diamantes and the colours are so cute! I can't wait to see your Disney Pictures, I've never been to any of the parks in America but I'm hoping that me and OH will be going to Florida next year for our Honeymoon! I have been to the Disney in Paris though... soooooo much fun!
Take Care, Lyns xx
Hi Suzanne

Hi Suzanne,
ReplyDeleteIt's great you've had a good time for yoiur BDAY.
Yesterday was my second wedding anniversary ^^ Hope I could go to Disney as well, but it's a bit too far for us right now ;-) I've only been to Disney in Paris, but I dream to go in Florida!
My favorite present ever was a day in a thermae center, with lots of massages and beauty care :-)
Hugs,
Hélène
My favorite birthday gift was for my 50th. My children, who all live in different states, had gone in together (the best part of the gift) and had fresh flowers delivered to my home. I had recieved flowers before, but I had never had any delivered. There was also a box of chocolates with the flowers.
ReplyDeleteStunning card Suzanne!
ReplyDeleteLove the colours you've used and the swirls.
Design and your colouring are gorgeous.
Hugs,
Marina
This card is fantastic. I love the way you have used the ribbon as a seat and that border punch (ME I presume?) is a must. My fav. birthday present of all was my son walking for the first time - on my 21st birthday too! He's 41 now!! PS I love your blog and follow each post 'cos I have you in my sidebar. Thanks for all your musings and amazing tips. xx
ReplyDeleteHi Suzanne and welcome back home! Sounds like you had a blast at Disney with the exception of a couple of injuries. Can't wait to see your pictures.
ReplyDeleteYour card is beautiful! I love Tilda with her kitties and your coloring is gorgeous as it is always!
My favorite b-day present was way back for my 35th and my husband gave me my diamond ring. We could not afford one when we were first married. I love it and it was totally unexpected.
Thanks for a chance to win some candy.
Hugs,
Nancy
I'm so pleased you had a great time and a fab birthday. We are going to Disney in October and I can't wait! My favourite birthday present ever has to be all the prezzies my boyfriend bought for me when I was 30, but in particular the beautiful gold and sapphire ring he had made for me. I love your gorgeous card and all of the pretty detail.
ReplyDeleteLiza x
Love this card! Love everything: the colors, the image, your coloring..... Sigh, wish I could do it like you!
ReplyDeleteMy best birthday-present ever?
The new bike I got on my 8th birthday. It was blue (my fav color), had a big '8' on it and it was the first bike that wasn't previously owned by my brother.
Gotta go look for some photos of that bike!
Ahh...your card is beautiful! Your colouring is always so amazing....one day I will get there!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite birthday present is a simple one. When my boys were little, they decided to make me breakfast in bed for my birthday. They did this with no help at all. They made me toast, and microwaved scrambled eggs...the toast was a bit black, the eggs, crunchy from some shells, but the thought that went into doing that for me...wow...and then they each gave me a birthday card that they had each made. What a morning that was....now they are both grown up and expecting children of their own! I hope one day their children do this for them!
Thank you for the chance to win your awesome blog candy Suzanne!
Hugs,
Kim P.
wonderful bling, stunning colors, beautiful. Sandi
ReplyDeleteWonderful card! Glad your Disney retreat was wonderful! My fav birthday gift? Oh my, there have been a lot of birthdays to choose from- lol! I can vividly remember a doll I received on my sixth birthday- she was beautiful and became my baby for many years! I have a funny story of what happened to her in later years but I'll save that for another time! Have a great day!!!
ReplyDeleteWow! Love your card! So gorgeous :) the Tilda with kitten stamp is super sweet and your coloring really brings them to life as always :)
ReplyDeleteMy fav birthday present was my very first apple computer back when I was 14. It was a total surprise from my Dad and it was just so super exciting. I've been a mac person (and a nerd apparently :)) ever since! Thanks for the chance to win!
Hi Suzanne! So glad to hear your birthday was wonderful, and that you enjoyed your trip so much!! This card is gorgeous...as always! Hmmm, my favourite birthday present ever was for my 16th. My hubby...(Well, he was not "hubby" status then of course! He held the "boyfriend" title then. lol)...took me to see Phantom of the Opera. Oh my gosh, how I LOVE that musical. It's still my favourite!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win! You're always so generous!
Melanie
Love the card! You do such a great job with your cards. I would have to say that my best gift ever came from my oldest son, who was 4 at the time. His Pre-K class was taking a field trip to a petting farm and he wanted me to come and chaperone. He kept asking me if I could come and when I asked him why it was so important that I come he said because if you don't I won't be able to give you your birthday present. I think that was my best birthday gift ever!!! Such a sweet boy to remember his mama's birthday and honor me with a class field trip. He also spread th eword to all of his classmates and they sang Happy Birthday to me at the farm we were at. Thanks for the chance to win some fabulous goodies!!!
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute card!! I'm so glad you had so much fun in Disney!! My family and I go most every year (we have a Disney timeshare) since my youngest was 18 mo. (he's almost 18 years now).
ReplyDeleteMy favorite birthday was one year hubby sent me to Disney BY MYSELF!! LOVED it!! There's no place I'd rather be!! I also have a close second favorite, last year my sister treated me to a trip to NYC for the first time! It was awesome!!
I love the blue and brown colour combo, Suzanne and those cats look adorable, as does Tilda. Your colouring, as always, is awesome!
ReplyDeleteDiane x
Welcome back and glad you had a wonderful time. Love your way of coloring looking antique. One of my fav Bdays (50th) was spent w/friends at Disney. As a child we could never go to such places - so the kid in me was so excited and my hubby and friends even rode "It's a Small World" with me. I may have been the only one that enjoyed that ride :-) Grand Time. LOL your way.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite birthday present EVER was 2 years ago. My husband surprised me with a pearl bracelet and earrings. This was SO out of character for him - I was truly shocked. I wear the pearls with everything even jeans and each morning when I put them on I always think back to that special day!!
ReplyDeleteWelcome back! I'm glad you had a fun vacation - well-deserved! I think my fav birthday present was "Boo" Bear - given to me by my older brother when I was young. I loved that stuffed animal. Sadly, he isn't here with me now - didn't survive the many moves and the arrival of my son. But I still think of him sometimes. :)
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a great trip away. Just adore this card and my fav b'day pressie that I can remember is a little stuff dg my dd picked out when she was about five. lol she has since claimed it as her own.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite presents was the card I got from my son this year. He has been ill for several years and is now doing better and able to remember my birthday again. He even made the card himself which made it so special.

Hi Suzanne, Sounds like you had a great time at Disney Land. My best birthday present was our first house. We moved into it on my birthday and we didn't get our fridge delivered until the next day so I had to keep my cake in the bathroom for the night as it was the coldest room in the house, it was the middle of winter..hehe! Oh and my next best present was last year when I got my first lot of copics!
ReplyDeleteSuzanne, I've had a lot of great birthdays but my favorite is when my boyfriend outfitted me with a complete 'golf' package (i.e. clubs, bag, shoes, accessories, lessons, etc.). I had mentioned wanting to learn the game and he took that and ran with it...I've been golfing for 8 years now.
ReplyDeleteHappy belated birthday!

My flavor-ite birthday present is being born. I appreciated what my mom went thru and every year up until she died, I sent her a bouquet of beautiful flowers to say thanks. Peg
ReplyDeleteHi Suzanne,
ReplyDeleteI am happy you had such a great time in Florida and I hope your foot feels better soon.
I am not big on getting presents myself. I rather give them and see the smiles on other peoples faces. I have to say the best birthday present was when my son was born, one month before my birthday.
My granddaughters 6th birthday is next week and one of the presents we bought is a Butterfly Pavillon. She loves all the little critters. She gets to grow her own butterflies. I can't wait to see her eyes when she opens her present. To me, it is the greatest joy, seeing little children happy
Welcome home Suzanne! I've been missing your daily posts, but I am SO glad you had a great vacation. It's so generous of you to offer such wonderful candy, thank you! My favorite birthday present of all time was when my husband asked me to marry him (on his knees) with the diamond ring and wedding band on a cake he had especially made. It was also the most romantic thing I've experienced. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteHi Suzanne,
ReplyDeleteMy special birthday present was the birth of my daughter (and my first child) on my 28th birthday. Nothing material could ever top that as a gift, and we get to share 'our' special day forever.
Tine :)
Welcome back! Glad you had a good trip. My favorite BD present was when all of my kids,a few nephews and my girls closest friends (my other daughters) surprised me and all took me out to dinner. It was the best birthday present ever.
ReplyDeleteHi and Welcome Back! My favorite birthday present ever was the one my husband got me for my 25th birthday. He surprised me with tickets to a Chicago Cubs game. We're fanatics. It was such a great day. AND the Cubs won too!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card! Love the rhinestone flourishes! Glad you had a fantastic bday and vaca!
ReplyDeleteMy fave bday present was my son - he came along just 5 days after my 30th bday!
Fabulous card creation, Suzanne! My favorite birthday gift was when I turned 7 and my folks gave me a miniature silver french poodle that I named Napoleon. He was my constant companion and best friend for many, many years.
ReplyDeleteI love checking out your blog each day and seeing all the beautiful cards you make. My favorite birthday present was 2 years ago, when my wonderful husband got me a computerized sewing machine. It does so many amazing things!! I enjoy sewing but I love making cards!!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you had a wonderful birthday. MY best present is when my son in the Marines, and my daughter wanted to borrow some money to buy me a present, and what they did was fly my son home. (he went into the Marines right after high school graduation, so of course I am having the empty nest)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card! I would have to say my favorite birthday gifts are when my girls go thru their own stuff to find something to give me! They are so excited to find something & wrap it up for me!
ReplyDeleteHi Suzanne,
ReplyDeleteSo cute card. And the cat ohhh so sweet I love red cats. I do have black and white. My favorite Birthday present was when I got my Copics and my Magnolia stamps from my family and friends in April this year.
yeepppppyyyyy :)
Have a wonderful day!
Very cute card!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite birthday present was a surprise 50th birthday party from my church stamping group. They all gave me stuff from their stash of craft supplies and ever since we have birthday parties and share our supplies with all the members.
Hey Suzanne! I am having another Bday on the 6th. I have had lots of wonderful presents but I am hoping this year to get all the supplies needed to take your Copic class 1. I am currently putting together a list for my parents and came to your blog to get a website when I read this post. I have to say it would be a wonderful present to win the blog candy. Thanks for all you share and I loved the card.
ReplyDeleteMelissa M
Suzanne, glad you had such a good time on your trip!! One of my favorite birthday presents was when I was about 10, and my parents surprised me with a cocker spaniel puppy! I had been begging and begging for one, and didn't think I would ever get to have one.

Welcome home. My most favorite birthday present ever was diamond earrings from my dad. He died several years ago now, but I still wear the earrings every day.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite present as a kid was my super spirograph. I loved making those neat designs. I still have mine! Love your cards with magnolia-licious characters.
ReplyDeleteMy best birthday present ever? 1.My son and 2. Having my birthday fall on Mother's Day!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a fabulous time. What a perfect way to spend your birthday. The best birthday I ever had was every one of them. I can't pick just one. The only not so fun part is when it falls on Mothers day. The boys tend to combine the two.
ReplyDeletestamp on...
Glad to hear you had such a good time on your trip. One of my favorite birthday gifts was also one of the least extravagant - my Cuttlebug. I love that thing!
ReplyDeleteHi ~ Welcome back..we missed you! Glad to hear you had so much fun! I would have to say one of my best birthday presents was my banana bike when I was around 8 yrs. old. ReplyDeletePam Brown
Welcome back...those little getaways are WONDERFUL! My favorite birthday gift was our marriage license. It was all my husband could afford that year and he bought it on my birthday...I've been enjoying it for the last 36+ years!
ReplyDeleteBest birthday gift ever - hmmm... It would have to be the year I moved into my own bedroom. My parents built one for me in the basement when I turned 12. It was totally awesome not to share!
ReplyDeletethanks for the great chance and the great card. I just love it.
Thinking back to my most memorable birthday gift....I have to say when I was 15 and my parents gave me a telephone to plug in my room. I didn't have my own phone line, but I now had some privacy. It was a lovely beige phone with an even lovelier rotary dialer with the curly two foot cord. LOL! Showing my age here.........
ReplyDeleteMy favorite birthday present ever...might sound a bit weird....but I am a yardaholic (as well as a stampaholic) and the best gift ever - a shop vac and a wheel barrow! These are honestly, two of the most used items in my yard!
ReplyDeleteThis is too cute. Love the bling and the sparkles on Tilda's blouse. I knew immediately what my favorite birthday present was - a watch that my father picked out. He never did any shopping for any of the 4 of us - Mother always did that. For some reason that year he bought me a watch. I will always cherish it.
ReplyDeleteHi Suzanne! What a lovely card! Happy Birthday! Glad you had a good time at Disney. Needless to say, I absolutely love your coloring and have watched all your video's on-line, LOL!!

ReplyDeletePat Frank
Just love the card with all of the details. My favorite birthday present was during the visit of a friend from Australia. My hubby surprised me with tickets to NYC for me to travel with her on her next stop through the US. We have been pen-pals since 1965. We got to visit my parents and share special places with her. The memories still make me smile!Glad you enjoyed your trip.
ReplyDeleteHi Suzanne...I am so glad you had a good time at Disney, even with the mishaps. Your card is beautiful as always. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteMY BEST BIRTHDAY PRESENT ever was, MY DAUGHTER's BIRTH ON THE NIGHT OF MY 22ND BIRTHDAY. She is the best birthday present God could have ever given me..

ReplyDeleteMy favorite birthday gift, or favorite gift to tell about is the one my husband gave me about fourteen years ago..lol he's not much on gifts or romance, but he was working long shifts, and he came home with a 'gift' for me..lol It was a box of wheat thins, bag of fat free pretzels and a sprite. He told me he would've gotten me a card but the gas station didn't have any lol
And just in case you're wondering, I wasn't on a diet either lol maybe I should've been?? Guess it was the thought that counted!
Thanks for the opportunity to win such awesome goodies!!
The best b-day gift I ever received was the birth of my first grandchild on my b-day. Talk about never being able to top that gift. It's a constant blessing.
ReplyDeleteYour card is gorgeous, I just love these colored tabby!! Now, you may find this odd but my most memorable birthday was my 40th. Why? Because my two daughters bought me a beautiful emerald ring, a bouquet of gorgeous flowers and a cake! I love them so much and was appreciative that they loved their mom enough to do such a wonderful thing! It is one I will remember always!
ReplyDeleteHi Suzanne...so glad you had a good time for your B-Day. My best Birthday present was a pie in the face from my daughter. She was 13 and a year before was so sick and the doctors did not know what was wrong. She was life lighted to Primary Children's Hospital in SLC Utah and was not expected to live. She did and for my birthday I had my happy go lucky, mischievous child back and she proved it with a banana cream pie.
ReplyDeleteHi Suzanne, welcome back!
ReplyDeleteI would have to say my favorite birthday present was for my 15th birthday & my parents took us to Disney. We had dinner on a boat & Alvin & the Chipmunks sang happy birthday to me.
I wish I could have that day all over again with my parents.
Happy Birthday and thanks for the chance to win!
~Cissy
My favorite birthday present was a long time ago when I was raising my two girls all alone and we had little money so while at work my girls made homemade birthday cards and left them on my pillow for me when I got home. It made me cry and its was the best.

Since it is my birthday on Thursday, I would really love to win the blog candy!
ReplyDeleteMy best birthday was my 25th. My friend came home from Europe early to surprise me and took me out to a fancy restaurant.
Cathy
What an adorable card. I love the Tilda with her little pets! Great card! I've been so blessed that it's hard to say what my most favorite present was. I guess I'll have to say a trip to see the Eagles play in Chicago, shortly after my birthday a couple years a go. We had a lovely weekend in Chicago, enjoyed the concert immensely and spent some much needed couple time with my DH! What could be better than that!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card. Disney is such fun-I haven't been in years but I think we may have to go next year-my son is dying to go.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite & most memorable birthday was 10 yrs ago when my husband proposed with a beautiful ring.
Sweet Tilda card, Suzanne! I really like how you colored the kitties as orange tabbies -- cute, cute!
ReplyDeleteMy best remembered birthday gift was my seventh birthday when I received my very first two wheeler! I won't say how old I am, but the bike had a banana seat and streamers from the handlebars. Those were the days!!
My favourite birthday gift was from a great group of friends who went to great lengths to organise and set up a get together for my 21st birthday. I had just lost my Dad 6 weeks earlier and both Mum and I were not really into it. Thanks to them I had an awesome night and I will never be able to thank them enough! Thanks for the chance to win Suzanne, glad you enjoyed you weekend.
ReplyDeleteHi Suzanne, So happy to hear you had a great Birthday Holiday :o)
ReplyDeleteMy Birthday is May 2 and my greatest present was an emerald and diamond ring from my parents on my 50th!!
Cute card today :o)
Hugs, Candy
I just HAVE to say aaaaaaaawwwwwwwwww! What a darling card! Love the colors, the kitties, your coloring, Tilda & on & on.........soooooooooo cute.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad that you had a wonderful time at Disney with hubby. You deserve all the very best for your Birthday!!!
Huggies ~
Sharron ♥
That is the cutest card and those eyes really get ya. We just have 2 dogs but we bought them because of their eyes when they looked at us and love them to pieces.
ReplyDeleteGlad the trip was good and fun for you because you deserved a much needed break.
My favorite BD present was a bike I had gotten in the 3rd grade from my grandparents. Tried to ride it down their hill and ended up running into a brick wall...LOL! Really wasn't funny at the time but oh those wonderful memories of birthdays past.
My best birthday present was 32 years ago when I had cancer surgery and had to go out of state for the surgery. I spent my birthday in the hospital and got home several days later but about 10 pm. My mother had my favorite dinner waiting when I got there. Turkey dinner. It was never better.
ReplyDeleteFabulous artwork...as usual!! My favorite b-day present was a $50 savings bond from my Dad. It was special because he died 4 months later.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back, Suzanne! Ouch for your poor foot, but it sounds like you had so much fun!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite birthday present? I'm struggling to figure that one out... we usually have very low key birthdays! My favorite might be the one I am getting later this week, officially... my first set of Copic markers! No one in my family will be surprised, I couldn't restrain myself when they arrived last week and have been playing with them a bit lol...
My best b-day gift ever was a week at Woodstream Campground in our new 24' camper. It was over 4th of July and included fireworks and ring of lights around a pond on the grounds. The best part - time with hubby and kids and NO TV or phones! I made beef stew and dumplings over an open campfire and "stunk up" the whole area!!
ReplyDeleteKathy Gerace
Hi Suzanne! Welcome back and I'm glad to hear you had such a great time in Disney!
ReplyDeleteYour card is fabulous, as always!! Love the colors you used, and blue being my favorite color... you can't go wrong!
My favorite Birthday present... well, that's an easy one! It was the positive pregnancy test on my 30th Birthday! We were still living in The Netherlands then, but were in Canada on holidays. Needless to say it was both an unforgettable Birthday and vacation!!
Hugz,
Irma
Hi Suzanne ~ So glad you had a good vacation and that you could laugh at your owie!!! You are so uplifting and encouraging : )
ReplyDeleteI can not think of a favorite present. There have been many 'things' people have given me, but sadly, they do not last. What I do cherish is the time people spend with me. When I was going through the hardest time my in life, my friends gathered around me and celebrated my birthday. That was very memorable!
Love and blessings to you and your family ~ Lori xoxo
P.S. You know that I adore ALL your cards... This one is precious : )
Hi Suzanne, and welcome back home. I'm so happy to hear you had a great bday. I visited Disney World when I was in the 6th grade (many years ago), but I still remember the magic! I'd love to go again someday.
ReplyDeleteI love your card! I am an animal lover as well (I currently have a Yorkie and 2 cats)and I love all the Magnolia stamps.
I'd have to say my that my favorite most recent bday gifts were gift cards to Michael's and Hobby Lobby from my hubby and daughter. I enjoyed going to these stores and picking out craft supplies for myself, and not feeling guilty about how much money I was spending since it was a gift. My hubby, daughter, and I also always go to dinner together to celebrate each of our bdays, which is my favorite part - being with the people who mean the most to me.
Thank you for the opportunity to share and to have a chance to win! I have my fingers crossed!
Donna G
Happy Belated Birthday Suzanne. I am glad that you and James had such a good time. What fun, I can't wait to see pictures. This is such an adorable card. Love the cats. Ours is black, so I color my black too. I remeber my 7th Birthday my Dad came home from work with a big cardboard poster of a sailboat with a blue background along and a gold braclet/bangle that had an orange stripe down the middle. It was just one of the best surprises. I think it sticks in my head because it was just from him and then both my Mom and Dad gave me my gifts. My Dad has always been that way though. He would surprise us from time to time and bring something little but very special for all 3 of us kids and Mom. Hugs, Lisa G
ReplyDeleteMy parents ordered me a new car for my 17th birthday. I was only a 5 speed 85 Honda Civic hatchback but it was brand new. I used it all senior year & in a tiff over grades I told my parents to keep the car, that I didn't need it at college. Well they kept it and I survived college just fine without a car. It was a great present!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you and your family had a wonderful time at Disney. We got to visit Disney for the first time in March...had a great time!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite birthday present had to be when I was 16, my Mom gave me a wrapped box of Cracker Jacks, this box had my special birthday gift at the bottom of it....a gold butterfly ring with one little diamond on it. The way my mom creatively wrapped my first piece of real jewelry made it a memory that will last forever!

I can't pick a FAVORITE present! Last year, I got Copics for my bday though. That was pretty awesome! :)
ReplyDeleteHappy belated b-day. And you are so generous to gift some candy in your honor!
ReplyDeleteMy fav b-day present was when my first born was learning to write she put a love note in my lunch box with a colored picture.
My favorite birthday gift ever was four years ago. My son had just got his first job and bought me a double weeping cherry tree. I cried, he was so thoughtful and knew I wanted one.
ReplyDeleteWonderful card I love your style, you always have such beautiful creations.
I think my best Birthday was when I got my youngest son returned to me after he had been kidnapped(That was 37 yrs ago).
ReplyDeleteSounds & looks like you had a great time & had a very nice birthday, well deserved.
Love the card with the cats, & the nice sunny apron one, & I just have to make one of those cute holders, hard to believe it is only 1 pc. of 12x12, lol.

I have to say my best present was what My family got me this year. I Have just had my 40th and for yrs now I have always wanted a decent camera. And to my surprise it was the last thing I expected to get as we I had a party and spent quiet abit there. But they must all love me loads. Love my new camera to bits, hubby is chuffed cos he dont hear me moaning anymore about how horrid my pics of my cards look. I am loving it, soooooooooo many different settings on it.
ReplyDeletehope you had a great Birthday xxx
Gorgeous card! Love the stickles bling and the coloring is just beautiful. Most favorite birthday present ever: I live in Germany and my son's fiance, who also lived in Germany at the time, said she was coming to visit us. When her car pulled up in front of our house, I almost fainted right there because my son stepped out of the car!! He lives in North Carolina and had flown all the way to Germany to surprise me for my birthday! Needless to say, I didn't have a clue he was coming and couldn't believe he would fly all the way to Germany for only a two-day visit for my birthday. I suppose a little time with his fiance was an added incentive, too, but it was still the best birthday present I have ever received. LOL!!
ReplyDeleteHappy B-day to you! Mine is the 5th, May babies are sooo cool!! My best birthday present ever, hmm...I have tow, one would have been making it through Desert Storm/Shield and when I redeployed to base in GE my mom, and two sisters came to GE to spend time with me and the second would be my two daughters who are the loves of my life!
ReplyDeleteAnd of course reading your blog!
Love the card, glad you had a good time at Disney. Didn't realise you were gone, shows I don't read things properly cause I am sure you mentioned it, lol.
ReplyDeletehugs,
Joanne
Wow... Your card is gorgeous Suzanne! And your colouring is awesome (as usual!!)! And answering your question is difficult! I always like receiving presents... So I would say my favourite birthday present was the one I got this year... 50 Copics! Not original, but I was so excited! Hugs Delphine xx
ReplyDeleteGlad you had fun at Disney. The greatest present I received was a gift card to a local craft shop here in Hawaii. My husband just surprised me and it just blew my mind that he would actually go to a craft store and buy a gift card.
ReplyDeleteHi Susanne, I was so busy gushing about your card I forgot about the blog candy! lol! My best birthday present was this years, being taken away for the night to a lovely castle outside Edinburgh where the OH asked me to marry him! :o) Definitely a good birthday present! Hope you had a great birthday. Lyns xx

Beautiful card Suzanne and Happy Belated Birthday!! We were at Disney World at the same time, LOL, Small World...(pun intended LOL)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite birthday would be my 27th which was my "golden birthday" (turned 27 on the 27th). My family turned it into a Mission Impossible themed weekend and I had to find and solve clues which took me across the state to find my gifts. It was a BLAST!!!
Thanks for the chance to win your b-day blog candy!
Hugz,
Wendy
My favorite birthday gift was on my 40th birthday. My husband planned a weekend of wonderful events: first he took the day off from work (very unusual for him to do), took me to a lunch/show at a great little local theatre and the following day he threw a big surprise pool party at our friends house! It was an awesome birthday weekend for sure! Thanks for the opportunity to win Suzanne - I love your work!!
ReplyDeleteI received my best ever BDay gift this year when my sisters and brothers had a suprise 60th BDay party for me earlier this year. I was truly suprised. It was awesome spending the afternoon with all my friends and family. And an extra special suprise was that my sister from Georgia came to California for my BDay! And the day after the party my sisters and I spent the afternoon making cards. What could be better?!
ReplyDeleteSuzanne, my dear, as always a gorgeous card you make. It's a great job. All details are so beautiful and you coloring is amazing!!

My favorite birthday present was my middle SON...yup, born on my birthday. Now we get to celebrate every year together!
ReplyDeleteI am glad you had a wonderful birthday. Mine is this Saturday. The best birthday present I ever have gotten was my very first (and only)Barbie Porcelain doll. Thanks for the chance to play along.
ReplyDeleteLove your Tilda card. Glad to hear your birthday trip was wonderful. My favorite birthday present ever was when I was 6 yrs. old and my mom bought me a piano. I started taking piano lessons and still play today--49 yrs. later.
ReplyDeleteMany years ago, my youngest was about 6 years old, there was an obvious and very big 'secret' about a month before my birthday. The kids would spend hours in the eldest's bedroom, talking in hushed tones and giggling away. I was banned from entering the room. On the day of my birthday they presented me with a quilt that they had made for me! They used the leftovers of all the clothes I had made for them over the years and they all contributed. The eldest(13 at the time) sewed the squares together, the second one pinned and the little ones cut the squares. It is by no means a 'perfect' quilt, but it is my most valuable posession. In fact, it is the only thing I am not prepared to share with my grandchildren. Every time I look at it I am filled with such pride and love. Everybody refers to it as my story quilt, because every block tells a story.
ReplyDeleteReally enjoy your blog and all your crafty ideas. My favorite b'day gift still blossoms every year reminding me that winter is over and summer is on its way. About 10 years ago, my sister surprised me by digging a new garden to the side of my house and filling it with a colored variety of my favorite flowers, the Iris. Each year they bloom and remind me of her love and care for me! Debi
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear that you had a fun vacation at Disney. Sounds like you had a great birthday. Your card is beautiful. I like the cats on the card, because I have 1 cat.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite birthday gift was when my husband and I went for an overnight to the Chicago area, so we could go on a dinner cruise. They had fireworks after dinner, which we watched while on the boat. It was a very relaxing evening.
Thanks for a chance to win some sweet birthday candy.
Awwww what a fabulous card hun!!! Tilda is so sweet with her darling kitties! BEAUTIFUL Work!!! ReplyDeleteThanks for a chance for blog candy!
My favorite birthday was year before last when my husband gave me Lasix surgery for my eyes by the only surgeon in Texas to be given the Nat'l Surgeons award! Wow! can you imagine how many surgeons there are in Texas and he is the only one that has received it. Anyway, I could not see your face sitting across the table from you. That is how bad my eyesight was. I now have better than 20/20 far off and close up. He told me I would never need reading glasses! It is so fantastic we gave that to our son for his last birthday (his eyesight was as bad as mine, we used to be able to share contact prescriptions).
Again, Happy Birthday and glad you are back!
Hugs,
Lisa
Thinking back of birthdays past, I think the one that stands out is when I turned 21. My then boyfriend took me to San Francisco for dinner out and theater in the round at one of the major hotels. I remember feeling so "grown up".
ReplyDeleteI love reading your blog and seeing your wonderful work each day. You seem to have such a great relationship with your husband and take time to take care of the relationship. Kudos to you! A belated Happy Birthday to you.
Belated birthday greetings! Your disney pictures are great! Living here in FL I somtimes take for granted what Disney can offer.
ReplyDeleteYour card today was wonderful as always. I appreciate you sharing the copic colors that you use.
My favorite birthday present had to be when I turned 40 a few years ago. My husband and our 3 boys got together and gave me an ultimate spa day complete with limo ride and lunch. I had no idea it was arranged and my mouth dropped open when the limo arrived.
thanks for being so generous and for being you!
My favorite birthday gift was when my kids gave me hand made gifts. My favorite was a shirt with their hand prints that my hubby made with them.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card!
My favorite birthday, quite possibly was the last one in February. ALL 4 of my sons remembered it and either called me or treated me. And of course, my hubby was as sweet as he could be.
ReplyDeleteLove your blog..am going to look it all over as I am interested in getting started with copic markers. I found you via youtube!
