Raindrops & Winnie-the-Pooh!!

Hello everyone & Happy Middle of the week to you all!  I want to thank each & every one of you that stopped by my blog yesterday, BECAUSE YOU WANTED too and left me such wonderful comments.  It truly uplifted my spirits to know so many of you like stopping by here and visiting with me each day!  I appreciate you all taking the time to leave comments for me yesterday, it really meant a lot to me and touched me more than you can know!  Thanks for taking time out of YOUR day to do that for me--it really is beyond words how much it meant to me!

No more ranting from me--I'll just put a link to that post when I need to okay? LOL!  But I'm the kind of person that says what they mean, and I ALWAYS mean what I say!  What you see and hear is what you get---I don't play games and I don't have time for games in my life.  LIFE IS TOO SHORT PEOPLE!!  You only get ONE chance at living your life--take advantage of it and live YOUR life not someone elses--it's just not worth it!  What doesn't kill us, makes us that much stronger!!

I'm sitting here watching "Glee" with my daughter right at the momen and driving her NUTSY!  I don't much care for the story line but I LOVE the singing--I love musicals, sing-a-longs and just music in general.  It drives her crazy that I know every song lyric ever made and that I sing along to her fave show--cracks me up of course!  LOL!  Quality time with my teen daughter, hee hee!

So today I have some sunshine to share with ya that is breaking thru those rain clouds!!  And here's a couple pics of my daughter with her friends on her birthday too!

Alexa is on the far RIGHT!!

On Sunday (her actual bday) we took her to dinner and she opened her last present--a topaz/silver key necklace picked out by her Mom (meeee)!!

-Don't forget to enter for that yummy Elisabeth Bell Blog Candy over on the SCACD store blog HERE!

-You still have time to register for the Copic Class 4 on my Color Me Creative Classroom to receive the discounted rate and have $3 of your class fee donated to Unicef.  April 30th is the last day to register to get the discounted price, after that it will go up to the regular price (so don't worry, you can take it at any time)!!  Click on the tab that says "Class Info" to see all the classes, descriptions and supply lists!

-I leave on Thursday for Disney World to celebrate my birthday with my wonderful husband (my mother-in-law is staying here with the kids & furbabies)--but I will have posts going up on Friday and Sunday for you all, so stop by if you get a chance.  I'll have an SCACD Blog Hop on Friday and the Magnolia-licious DT Sketch on Sunday for ya!

Sunshine Thru the Rain!!

Today I've got a little sun to share with you--hope it brings a smile to your face!  I used this cutie-pie duck from the "Popcorn the Bear" stamp set (see here for that post) from Paper Romance.  These cute Popcorn Bear stamps come with so many cute sentiments and accessory stamps to use--fabby!  I love this cute duck--I colored him with Copics and then cut him out.  I had to use this Winnie-the-Pooh sentiment from Verve Stamps!  It says "If you live to be 100, I hope to live to be 100 minus one day, so I NEVER have to be without you."   That's how I feel about my husband and this sentiment was on his wedding card from me all those years ago--perfectly said by the wonderful Winnie-the-Pooh!

I chose to make an acrylic card because I wanted to give the illusion of water--and they're just fun to make!  Those dots/rain drops on the acrylic (I use a transparency for my base) were made with a Viva Decor Gloss Pen in transparent--awesome for glass/water images you want to make. And you can use it on any surface--I think it looks really cool on acrylic!  The cs and ribbon is a new color from PTI called Hawaiian Shores (love it).

Hope you have a wonderful day today!  I'm off to get my hair done (yikes its been 4 mos--my poor roots, hee hee) then do errands and finish up work before I leave on Thursday.

  12. First of all, Happy Birthday and enjoy it to the fullest because you deserve it! I didn't get a chance to visit you yesterday and just read your "rant" from yesterday. I am appalled that someone would even have something negative to say to you! For whatever reason, you are right, if you don't like it, don't visit the blog! What is wrong with people?? You hit the nail on the head, people are miserable and jealous. They have no life but to try and bring down good, happy people. I commend you for being upfront and honest with your feelings! I came across your blog last year by accident. I think I went through hundreds of blogs looking for scrapbooking ideas and such and out of all of them, honestly, yours is the blog I've added to my favorites and I visit almost every day. You are the reason I am a cardmaker today. I've gotten so many unbelievable compliments about my cards and started a little invitation business for myself!! I found my niche and found out I am pretty good at it. I give credit to you for that. I admire your dedication to share your incredible knowledge and creativity among other things! Another thing I have to add is that when we have questions, you always promptly answer our questions back with no fail! That means a lot!! So pay no mind to ignorant, foolish people who apparently don't have a life!! Love you and everything about you! Thanks for everything!!

  13. Yeeepppppyyyyy such a cute card. I love the duck so cute.
Great foto's of your doughter :)

  19. Suzanne, I just wanted to stop by and say that I always enjoy reading your Scrap Biz... and it sounds like you had a bad experience.. I am sorry to hear that. I am taking your copic class #1, I have been sick do I haven't been doing much right now... but I am learning so much. Thank you for all the time you put into helping others

  20. I wanted to say I hope you have a very happy birthday. I have been getting your Scrap Biz through my email.. going to be a follower so I can comment on your awesome creations.

  21. Hey Suzanne...your daughter is a cutie! Funny about watching Glee and singing the songs! Love the Glee soundtracks!! Your acrylic card is adorable! I don't think I've ever seen a card quite like this. Very clever! Love the raindrops...and the little duck is adorable! Pat Frank (VA)

  22. Hi Suzanne, it's nice to see someone who is not employed in the healthcare industry, who actually publicly admits that life is too short and that you only get one chance. You and your family are grounded. Nutsy is good. Having told many people to enjoy the time they have with those that they love, doing what they love the most is difficult at best, but art makes it easier. Coloring is therapy. Good for you. My 12 year old would say: sing. "You are my sunshine," and just giggle if he had read this post. Birthdays are enlightening.

  23. Hi Suzanne, I just wanted to add my wishes for you to have a wonderful, fun, and relaxing birthday with your husband! I am glad you posted yesterday what you felt and meant it! You can't even imagine how you inspire people that you don't even know. I am new to your blog and I am taking your copics class #1 and I never thought I could do this but you have made me realize I can!! I would love to meet you in person just to tell you how much you have inspired me. When I open my email everyday the first thing I look for is Scrap Bitz so I can see your new card and read your post for the day. Thank you Suzanne for doing all that you do.

  24. You have one GORGEOUS daughter! You better keep a baseball bat by the front door! Teehee :)

This card definitely brought a smile to my face! It is SOOO CREATIVE! Love the design using the acetate, and ohhh the colors you chose! That Viva Decor is UNBELIEVABLE! I LOVE that stuff...thanks to you! :) The image you used with this quote is so perfect for that someone special! Hmmm...must CASE this one too! :)

I hope you have a wonderful birthday and a fabulous time with your honey! Just relax and enjoy one of those umbrella drinks for me! Teehee! :)

  26. Extremely cute card, beautiful daughter and a very big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you!I am also appalled that anyone can come to your site and add negative comments, seriously, if they don't like what they are reading, move on! I love your site AND your new magazine. You come across so darn down to earth to me and I look forward to all your little stories, especially the ghostly ones. Wishing you a fantastic vacation with your hubby and do your best to leave all the negative stuff behind.

  27. Your daughter is very pretty! I'm sure she loved the necklace!

I just adore the quote you used on this card! In fact, I typed it out on the computer and gave it to my friend just a few days ago along with a little gift. Beautiful card!

  29. Hi Suzanne,
I hope you have a great get-a-way with your hubby. I can't imagine how you do all that you do with the quality that you give us every day. I for one appreciate all that you have shared. I love your classes, videos, willingness to answer any questions, and tips.

Honestly my first reaction when reading yesterday's blog was Are you kidding me? Who could be that mean?
Well the only thing I can think of for a response is that stinks.

  30. Suzanne - such a cute card. I didn't know about the product you used to make the drops on the acrylic. Thanks for sharing with us.

    Have a wonderful Birthday
