Clean & Simple!!

Oh Thank Goodness it's Friday, whewwww! I swear this has been the longest-never-ending week of my entire life, LOL! I'm so thankful for the weekend, Riley is feeling better & getting stronger so that's good. The weather is supposed to be nice so we're going to try and get to the pumpkin patch on Sunday if he's doing well! Saturday we have a date with friends of ours at my favorite Japanese restaurant so that will surely be fun and nice to get out of the house! We have to get last minute stuff for Halloween as well like candy, candles and some miscellaneous stuff for the kids costumes but nothing major to get done which I like :o) Anyone have any exciting plans for this weekend (that is if you're not a sickie-poo like 1/2 of America, lol)!?

Okay, moving on today I have another Blog Hop for you featuring the Magnolia-licious DT and the theme this time is "Clean & Simple" cards--I struggled with this, but it was a fun challenge (you know how I like my layers & embellies, hee hee)

Magnolia-licious DT BLOG HOP
"Clean & Simple"

Welcome to the Magnolia-licious DT Blog Hop--today the DT has created some fabulous "Clean & Simple" cards for you! All of these fabulous stamps can be found at the fabulous Magnolia-licious store HERE! This was a hard one for me since I'm so used to using lots of layers and embellies but the fact is, is that you can create beautiful & lovely cards with not alot of materials (hmmm...who woulda thunk it, hee hee). I think I found the key to this challenge for me anyhow, was to pick materials that I could add texture to & use one bold color to really make it pop!

For this card I paired up kraft cs with white & red--a little bit country and all cute!! This cutie pie is "Waiting Tilda" & she is probably my most favorite & most-used winter Magnolia stamp--I really just love her!! To create texture I created a diamond pattern on my kraft cs using my Scor-Pal and then where the diamonds met I paper pieced a hole each time. The white cs got embossed with a Cuttlebug snowflake folder as well and the entire card got a good spritz of Shimmerz Spritz (in baby's breath)! The fabulous gingham ribbon I got from Michaels & made my bow with my Bow Easy, and the sentiment is from the PTI that I stamped with my glue pad & added red glitter to. Easy peasy :o)

Here is this lil' cutie up close & personal--I set her on the ribbon and then her sweater dress & cap trim got a good dose of stardust stickles for some extra bling! Whatcha' think?? I like her alot and of course red is my fave color, hee hee! :o)

Second card uses another cute Magnolia stamp called "Tilda w/ Huge Bunch of Roses" and that's a whole lotta roses, hee hee! I used some Basic Grey dp as my starting point for this card and colored Tilda to match with Copics. If you click on the above picture to make it larger you'll see that the background white cs was stamped lightly in pink with a birthday sentiment over & over from the PTI set "Around & About Sentiments"--so obviously this is a bday card, LOL! I embossed the white cs behind Tilda with my CB Swiss Dots embossing folder for more texture and added a few pearls. I really like that the small frame of dp is bold & bright--grabs your attention paired with the white!

Here's this cutie close-up--I had to add some stickles to the leaves & you can't see it here but the roses have Shimmerz on them in Pixie Dust for a subtle sparkle. I had to use a bit of sheer ribbon to make a 3-D bow for these flowers--so cute!

Well, I hope you liked my Clean & Simple Magnolia cards for ya today---I think I spent more time figuring out these than I do my multi-layered cards, LMBO! But I like 'em!!

Now if you're coming here from Sharon's blog then I'm the end of the road for the hop, but if you're starting with me, make sure and start the hop with Kerry! And make sure and hop over to the Magnolia-licious Highlites Blog to get all the details on how you can join in on the fun as well!!

Clean & Simple Holiday Cards

Since I was working on some Clean & Simple cards, I decided to try and create my "mass" holiday card that I will send out to my friends for the holidays. I wanted something that was elegant, simple & of course easy to make lots of but have a nice impact as well. So I pulled out a few of my favorite holiday Lockhart Itty Bitty stamps "Wreath" & "Ornaments"! I embossed the background (3/4's of it) with a new Cuttlebug embossing folder called "Victoria", spritzed it with Shimmerz Spritz in baby's breath & stamped the bottom with sentiments from the PTI set "Signature Christmas".
I cut out my images with my Nestabilities Labels 1 and used the FABULOUS PTI set "Vintage Labels"to stamp the red lined label inside--these stamps fit within the Labels 1, how cool is that!!

Both of the images got Flower Soft (shamrock green) on the greenery, the ornaments have gold spica pen accents as well! Easy to make & put together! So if you're on my holiday list for Christmas cards, this is what will be in your mailbox, LOL (minus my mom, sister, bosses, & grandma--they get multi-layered goodness, hee hee)!

Well hope you enjoyed the blog hop & my clean and simple cards for ya today. And I hope I inspired you to try to make some as well! See ya back here tomorrow with just ONE (GASP) project for ya!

hugz,
Suzanne

Summer Notes Blog Hop!! Oh My Stars!!

Hello & Happy Friday friends!! Yay--its the weekend again! The weather is actually supposed to clear up & be sunny & in the 80's this weekend---great weather for a Pool Party & Pig Roast! I'm going to try & be outside as much as I can, but I've got sooo much work & sooo many projects to get done before I go away on the 20th, so that there will be some posts up while I'm gone for ya! Alrighty then let's move on to the Magnolia-licious DT BLOG HOP!!

Welcome to the Magnolia-licious Blog Hop which is called "Summer Notes"! I am the START of the blog hop and at the end of this post is the link to the next DT gal on the HOP--so make sure and hop all the way to the end! All Blog Hop Details and info on how you can play along & win prizes are on the Magnolia-licious HighLites blog!

So the DT was challenged to make a "Post-It Note Holder & Gift Box" in a summertime theme. You can find a tutorial and instructions (by Bridgett Owens ) on the Mag Highlites blog HERE.

I chose to make a Patriotic 4th of July themed project with this fabulous "Sailor Tilda"--this was in stock at Magnolia-licious but I can't find it now, so if you love it & want it let Diana know & perhaps she can get more in! But there are a ton of cute summertime stamps IN STOCK at Magnolia-licious for you to choose from! My dp is by Melissa Frances and the cs is PTI's "pure poppy". The actual post-it notes are inside a little covered chipboard cover--I decorated with a frame & some more stars. (If you don't have chipboard, use coasters or an med. density cardboard like what comes in the SU dp packs)

Close-up of the Post-It Note holder box which I decorated with some fun elements including a fun star tag tied on with Scrappers Floss. Because this Tilda has her hands in a position to hold something--I printed out the "Notes" sentiment & made a lil' sign for her to hold. I love the way the stars peek out the top of the box from the actual post-it notes. I wrapped this fabulous Offray ribbon around the sides of the box to make a fun handle too!

I made a coordinating card so this would be a fabulous gift for someone! I just love it--will be hard to part with, LOL! But you could actually win this project along with some of the DT's projects if you hop along & then head over to the Magnolia-licious HighLites blog to see how!! To WIN this project by me, just leave a comment by Tuesday, June 9th on this post, and I will pick a random winner to win this set!!

A close-up of cutie Sailor Tilda--I used Diamond Glaze to make her shoes shiny and added some stickles to her outfit. And yes, I spritzed the ENTIRE card (not the image) and the Post-It Note Holder & box with my new fave Shimmerz Spritz (baby's breath)--gives it such a fun & soft shimmer!

Okay so now you need to HOP on over to Suzy's blog HERE to follow along on the Blog Hop!! And when you're done hopping, make sure to stop by the Magnolia-licious HighLites blog to get all the details on how to join in & WIN!! Have fun & be inspired!

**Don't forget to stop by tomorrow to enter for my 200,000 hits BLOG CANDY too--its a good one!!**

Bunny Blog Hop!!

Happy Sunday everyone & welcome to the Bunny Blog Hop, lol! Today H&M Stamps is having an Easter project Blog Hop---an Easter project bonanza! If you're on the Hop right now and visiting me your next hop is over to Tracy. At the bottom of this post is a list of all the DT gals to visit too if you're just getting started on the hop--you won't wanna miss any of it!

So I decided to make a whole slew of Easter projects for ya today---pinwheels, Easter Egg holders and notecards! I used H&M Stamps new set "Eggstra Special" designed by my friend Debbie Corbari--it's a fun & cute set for sure, love it! The dp and cs I used is all from Stampin' Up and I colored w/ Copics and added stickles to all my images!

I think pinwheels are such a fun project--I used to make these with the kids when they were "much" smaller & hadn't done them in awhile. Quick & easy to make & such a pretty Spring project. You can make bunches of these as favors for kids or like I did just to be pretty in a container. The only difference with mine is I didn't pull the center all the way thru w/ a brad because I liked them fuller (so mine don't spin)! If you're looking for easy directions to make these you can go HERE!
These fun Easter egg holders are made super quick. A length of dp folded into a circle & secured with scor-tape. I cut my images out with oval nesties, adhered them to more dp and attached to the holders with more scor-tape. I added a lil' bow to my bunny cuz' I thought she needed some blue on her :o) These would be so fun on your Easter table on Easter morning or for brunch & dinner too, hee hee!

And I couldn't not make some cards to match. These are really easy, but so pretty! I just took my white cs (4x5) and embossed with my rectangle nesties. Then I cut out 3 rectangles of cs from my white cs to emboss with the CB folder (swiss dots)--those got attached to the centers of the card. More fun images on top of that pretty SU dp and pearls at the bottom. I left off sentiments so they could be for any Spring occassion you needed! The border I used around my images is from PTI's "Spring Tag Collection" (just lovee that set)

Hope you enjoyed my projects today, now make sure and "HOP" around the rest of the DT gals blogs today!

BTW, I had a blast at my pal Marti's house last nite (waving "hi")--didn't get home until midnite and got some new goodies to play with too :o) I also got to meet up with Tiffaney (Inkling 2 Stamp) whom I've only known thru blog and Amy Scheffer (Pickled Paper Designs) which was great! Today we're off to IKEA and then to see "Escape From Witch Mountain" at the movies with the kids--that was my FAVORITE movie when I was much, much younger, hee hee!

Enjoy your Sunday--
Suzanne
