Hello and happy TGIFriday everyone! I am still in Florida thru Monday and I'm so hoping the weather is nice and warm for me :) as you know it can never be too hot for me, LOL! I'm looking forward to a couple of days spent with friends and then two days of classes and then back home on Monday night for me. Tonight 12 of us are going to a Japanese Hibachi restaurant for dinner (my fave) and I'm so excited to meet some of the gals that I only know online---always fun to meet face to face me thinks. It might be so nice here I might not want to come home, LOL. Hopefully all is well at home and my son is getting better as well----he was as sick as me when I left home. And when hubby dropped me off at the airport on Thursday morning he was sick too---blech! Gotta get rid of those germies in my house that's for sure--spring is coming so that means windows open time. I can't wait until we spring the clocks forward on March 13th--my favorite time of year when the sun stays out longer, makes my days feel longer. Although all my days are long it seems, lol! Anywho, hope you are having a wonderful day and I'll share some pictures and a new project with you on Sunday!
Today the SCACD DT and some friends are having a Release Day Blog Hop Party for some fabulous new images by Victoria Case for SCACD called "When Sweet Meets Sassy". These images are so perfect for the upcoming spring/summer seasons and they'll get you singing some Jimmy Buffet in no time, LOL! You can find all these new stamps at SCACD HERE and make sure to hop around to all the blogs today to see these cuties in action! For those of you over in Europe you can order all of these new stamps at Quixotic Paper here!
I got to use my fave of this collection called "Just Chill'n"--isn't she fabulous? I only WISH I looked that good in a bikini, LOL---although I'm working hard at it for our trip to Hawaii next month! All of my papers are new from Anna Griffin--loved the tropical feel of them!
I hadn't made an easel card in awhile and I really wanted to do a circle one so I pulled out my Grand Spellbinders Circle Nesties to create a larger card shape and mats. The matting behind the image was done with SB's "Lacey Squares" . Those gorgeous flowers are by Prima and the greenery was made with a newer Marianne Designs die. The green cardstock was embossed with a new Embossing folder by Craft Concepts. I skewed the circles a bit for fun!
The sentiment and flowers are from a Hero Arts set and I added some pearls to the centers--the large pink pearl acts as a stand for the easel card so it stands up easily.
And yes she was colored with Copics of course---I used RV17,RV14,V10/E11,E00/E25,E50,E31/YG25,YG00/Y15,Y00 on this image. For the sand I used Distress Stickles as they have both texture and a bit of sparkle. The tropical drink got a coat of diamond glaze as did her sunglasses. Stickles also on her bathing suit and earring for bling! I stamped, colored and then cut out an extra arm for her so I could pop it up with dimensionals and make it really pop off the card. Little things like that will elevate your work and make it really special for the receiver and it doesn't take very long to do at all.
I hope you enjoyed this post today and continue on your Blog Hop by stopping at the last stop of the day, my pal ANKI's BLOG HERE!
Also find the entire Blog Hop List at the SCACD Blog and get your new stamps HERE! See you on Sunday!

What a cute fun summer card!! Love the colors and leaves.
ReplyDeleteThis is really pretty! It makes me feel warmer just looking at it.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to see instructions how you made a round easel card. I've only ever made square ones & I'm wondering how the folded part in the back is cut for a round one.
She's fantastic!!
