Two Small Words!

Hello friends and Happy Thursday to you all! As usual I'm in a mass panic to finish off my to-do list before I hop on the road tomorrow morning to drive to Michigan! Lots to get done--gotta stamp images, pack and finish laundry while managing kids schedules and house duties, lol! Aye yi yi--it never ends does it? LOL! But I'm super excited to get there and teach and meet everyone but I wish I could blink my eyes and be there already, hee hee!

My post today features 2 small words "thank you"--both words are simply special when put together don't you think?  Sometimes I wonder if we all use these words enough for the people in our lives or that touch our lives in some?  And how do you say "thank you" when words don't seem enough?  How many people have passed through our lives helping us in some manner along the way?  Even if it that moment only lasts 5 seconds, it still matters.   I ask myself that almost every day and I think generically we've gotten used to handing out phrases quickly because it's easy, or we don't know another way but I think it's good if we really can think about what we're thanking for!?  Words mean a lot but to me actions speak more and one of my resolutions is to really SHOW someone my gratitude, my thank-you's and my love.  That's something I will continually work on, some days I struggle and some days I'm happy with how I've expressed myself but I think it's all something we can ponder on.  As I always say "We only get so many days on this earth, make them special, make them count and have no regrets along the way"!  So my card today is for EVERYONE who has blessed my life, helped me, befriended me and loved me---thank you so very much for having had a positive impact on my life!

I will have a fun post for you on Saturday and then another on Monday so please stop back by on those days to visit--I might have something sweet for ya!   Ok now, I'll keep my chitter chatter short for ya!

2 Small Words

Isn't she just a cutie?  This is a new fairy stamp from a set by Pergamano called "Flower Girls"--I got my set while I was at CHA because I just fell in love with them.  But SCACD is now carrying them all HERE and you will want them I know--fun to color and squeezably cute!  My card is for this week's TIOT for SCACD--our challenge was to create a card that wasn't square!  Well I semi-obeyed the rules, lol by making an easel card with the main part of the easel round (that counts right?lol)! You can see all the DT's challenge projects at the store blog HERE!

I used some stunningly beautiful Prima papers here for the bottom of my card--I love the dreamy, watercolor effect they have.

She's colored with Copics (R05,R02,R00/G02,G00,G0000/YR24,YR21,YR20/hair E35,E31,YR20) and I added a few stickles to some of the flowers, her shoes and the large die cut leaves.  The leaf die cut is from another Marianne Designs die here that I just got (omg how I lovee these)--if you have problems getting these delicate die cuts out of the die use WAX PAPER between the die and the paper so they pop out easily!  I used some flowers from Wild Orchid as well.  The large round die cut is by Marianne Designs as well and then I ran it thru my Cuttlebug Folder.  I love this new folder and everyone has asked me what it is but I have NO CLUE, lol!  It is a larger folder by Cuttlebug but I can't find it on the web anywhere--so if you know what it is, please clue me in so I can tell everyone 'kay?!!

The sentiment is from a beautiful PTI set called "Inside & Out-Thank You" and I just stamped half in my yellow ink and the other half in my dk orange ink to make the dual colors.  I love the mix of pastels, watercolors and fallish colors on this card and I hope you like it too!

BLOG CANDY:  "If you had to go back and thank only 1 person in your life who would it be and why?"   Tell me your answer on this post and someone will win a Pergamano set of your choice from SCACD AND a pad of this Prima paper!  You have until Monday to answer!!

See you back here on Saturday---have a good one!

  1. Wow! What a beautiful card! I love the shape and the colors and of course the image and coloring!

I would have to say I would go back and thank my Uncle Lee. He has had such a great influence in my life. He died unexpectedly 2 weeks before my oldest daughter was born and I feel like I never properly told him how much he ment (and still means) to me.

  2. Beautiful card Suzanne. I love the easel and how you used so many wonderful papers.

I would have to say that I owe many health care providers a big thanks for taking care of my son last fall when he had surgery. It was a long 2 weeks in ICU. I was so grateful for each and everyone who helped us during that time!

  3. Hi Suzanne!
What a cute twist to the easel card, very nice!
Right now the person I would have to thank is my Eye Dr. He is doing surgery on both my eyes and since my INS. is not paying for any of it at all he has giving me a very nice discount. What an angel he is!

I would have to thank, of course, my mother for giving birth to me and all the sacrifices she made when my siblings and I were growing up.

Got to be my best friend's Mom who just passed away. She was like a second mother to me and was my Mom's best friend too. I never got to say thank you for being my friend.

  6. Nice card Suzanne...I haven't tried the easel card yet.
The person I'd like to thank most would be my Dad. This past Labor Day, he'd been gone 4yrs. I never got to tell him goodbye. I'd like to thank him for being there for me and believing in me. I miss him so much.

  8. Beautiful card, Suzanne.

There are so many people that help us without even realizing it. If I could only thank one person, it would be my mom. She has been the biggest supporter my entire life. I cannot imagine not having her in my life.

  9. As always, your art blows me away. If I had to thank one person it would be my stepfather. He was my best friend, my mentor, my confidant, and I wouldn't be the person I am today without his love and support. Biology isn't everything.

  10. Gorgeous card - love the unique shape and coloring is divine!

I would thank my mother. She always supported me and I definitely needed the support. I battled with depression and cancer and she was ALWAYS there for me.

  11. If I were able to go back and thank one person, it would be my Mom. I don't think I ever thanked her enough before she passed for making me a strong woman. Because of her strength, she helped me to be strong enough to handle both cancers I had last year. My family was amazed at how strong I stayed in dealing with these health issues. I knew my strength came from my Mom. "Thank you, Mom....I love you!"

I'd thank my dear friend Ruby for her love and support and laughter over the years. We are like soul sisters. :) Don't know what I'd do without her!

Nice post! We all need to think about thanking the special people in our lives more often...whether they are still with us or not. Thanks for reminding us. :)

  13. I love the combination of this "cutesy" little image with the elegance of your dp. It's a beautiful combination, a lovely card.
If I could go back and thank anyone, it would be my dad. He passed away 9 years ago and until the past few years I wasn't able to grasp his patience with me. My son is now a teenager and I get the eye rolling and huffing and quite honestly, sometimes, it's very difficult to deal with. So, with that being said, it would be nice to have that moment to thank my dad for all he did for us and the patience he had with me as a teenager and young adult.

  14. once again you have made a beautiful card and I am in awe.I follow you faithfully and hope one day I will be able to take a class from you. The one person I wish I could have thanked is a teacher I had in high school.I quit school when I was 16 and he was the only one who tried to talk me out of it, saddly I didn't listen, but I have never forgot him. I wish I had thanked him. Dee In N.J.

  15. This is such a beautiful card, and a lovely way to say thank-you to someone who matters! I'd thank my step-father who died suddenly in an accident. He was one of the strongest influences in my life and I've always regretted not being able to say good-bye or thank him for the wonderful years I had to spend with him. I miss you Dad!

  16. Beautiful card and I love the darling little fairy.

If I had a chance to thank someone, I would tell my first born son how much his death taught me. His life and death brought many tears but also joy and I will always be grateful for those wonderful memories.

    Thanks Suzanne

I would love to have 1 more chance to thank my grandma for all she did for me. She stepped up when my mother disappeared and is still my hero today...I lost her almost 5 years ago and I still find myself thinking about her, wishing she was here to help me through the rough spots. I wouldn't be the person I am today if it wasn't for her and I will forever be greatful!!

If I could thank one person, it would be my Grandmother, she was the best baker ever, and I spent many hours in the kitchen as a kid baking with her, and then when our goodies were in the oven, we would do something crafty, sewing, knitting, homemade Christmas decorations etc...she was my inspiration for all things crafty and home baked.

  34. Suzanne!!! I love everything you wrote about thanks the people who are around us. Sometime I also think that only this two words aren´t enough to express my real feelings. Words are the most important thing on this whole world.. we can hurt someone and we also can make someone truly happy. These words may come from our heart, and this is the way I want to THANK YOU for your care and your support. I´m learning a lot with you, even you don´t know nothing about this.
Now... about your card!!! I can´t find the righ words. It´s absolutely marvellous. The coloring is stunning, all the details are perfect. Love every and each detail.

I guess the one person I would have to be MOST thankful for is my Mom, for bring me into this world and enriching my life in many ways.

I thank you MOM for all you've done for me and for being such a great Nana to my boys!

I can ONLY hope that some day my boys will be as thankful and feel the same way about their MOM!

  45. My Grandmother. She passed away about five years ago now and I still can't talk or even think about her without crying. We had such a close bond. If I could go back, I would thank her for everything she taught me, everything she gave me and everything she sacrificed to raise me. Most of all, I'd thank her for all the things I was too young and too foolish to realize she was giving me until it was too late, the things I took for granted and never thanked her properly for: Her wisdom, her strength, her convictions and her unconditional love.

  51. Your card is so pretty and love the shape. Very nice as always.

The person who I would go back in time to give a Thank You would be my father, he was a very positive person, said he never got sick as it always made him feel bad...He taught us to pray and believe, to work hard and be kind he was such an inspiration loved everyone and found good in people. He was loved by so many and I am proud to call him my father Thank you dad for being you..If only he were still here but he'll always in the heart.

  52. Hi Suzanne. I love this card also. I love the verse and your right when you say that we have to take the time to thank the people in our lives. I am so anxiously waiting for our class this Saturday. I am so excited to meet you and learn from you.
I think I would like to thank God for putting all the people in my life that he put in my life that made a good influence on me. I have such awesome friends and family members. God has brought me through a lot of difficult situations and he has always been there for me. He gave me 3 wonderful successful children that I am very proud of when the Dr. told me I was not able to have children. Like I said, God has always been with me, doing for me and trying to keep me on track so Thank you God for all you have ever done for me. Right now he has blessed me with putting Suzanne Dean in my life along with all the other ladies I chat with weekly on her blog....

  55. The papers you use and the card itself is SO cute. If I could go back and still now have not thanked enough would be my Grandma. She always has been there for me with no criticisms and all the downfalls I have been there. I never thought I could read so much in one's eyes as hers..... so much love! She has given me so much in "her ways". When I see a butterfly I will also think of her. Carol M in TX/carolswingster77@aol.com

  56. Suzanne your art piece is stunning and that paper is just beautiful. Wow, a gorgeous card and one of my all time favorite themes to stamp "thank you". You are so right that sometimes we forget to thank people for the little things that make life easier for us.
If I could thank my Grandmother one more time for giving me my happiest childhood memories and loving me so unconditionally I would be the happiest woman in the world. I know my grandmother knew how much we loved and appreciated her but just to say thank you one more time!!!

  61. Hi Suzanne. I love this card! She is simple adorable... You of course have colored her to perfection. Her little dress is out of this world.
If I could go back I would have said thank you to my sister-in-law Ester. I only knew her for 4 very short years until she died of breast cancer, but from the day that I met her (1 year after my husband and I were married) she was sort of like meeting a female version of my husband. She would call me every Saturday and we would talk for over an hour. She made me feel so special and so important to her. I have a sister, but I have never had quite the same kind of conversation with her that I would with Ester. I would go back and whisper in her ear just how much I still miss her and how much she meant to me being in my life. I know this sounds stupid, but even 18 years later I still cry when I think of how special she was to me. Have a great class and a safe strip. Hugs, Lisa G

I am grateful for the love and support from all of my children, however if I had to pick one person, I would thank my middle son who passed away. The journey, spiritually and emotionally, obviously changed my life forever; and the grace and courage with which he fought his cancer was such an inspiration. I am a better person having gone through all of that with him, and for that I will be eternally grateful.

If I could go back and thank my Grandmother, I would have more often. She has been gone for about 8 years. She consistently poured love into my heart and soul while I grew up. I had no doubt she loved me, because she let me know it every time we were together! I pray that I be "that person" to my girls. I want to be the person that pours love into their souls and reminds them everyday that they are loved, and that Jesus loves them. Thank you Grandma! :)

She not only gave me everything she could when I was a child, but took care of me and my family when I was in a bad accident a few years ago. She just dropped everything she had going on and came to take care of me for a couple of months. She is an amazing woman, I hope I can be as beautiful as her in every aspect. AND she is in MICHIGAN lol, but not near where you are going, so you won't get to meat the most wonderful woman in my life. Thanks for the opportunity to tell her thank you yet again for everything.

If I could go back and thank one person in my life it would be my grandfather. My grandfather was a baker and he owned his own bakery. He would come home from the bakery and as tired as he was he would make us kids a pot of salt dough and spend time with use making our own pastries. We would have our own pretend bakery in the house. Some days he would come home and make us colored shortening and spend hours teaching us how to decorate cakes...making sweet peas and roses out of colored shortening. We really did not have a lot of toys, instead my grandfather gave us creative things to enjoy. He was a wonderful person and I am so glad that my life was blessed with him in it.

  72. If I could go back to thank someone I think it would be my Dad. My Dad past away almost 20 years ago and he went very quickly. I had three small children at that time and was very wrapped up in them. Although we had contact often, I didn't say things like that enough at that time. I've since learned that you take every opportunity to express your love and thankfulness for who is in your life and all the blessing the Lord has given you because you never know when they won;t be there anymore.
Love your creation. You are totally inspiring and I thank you for being part of my inspiration!

  75. Yet another fabulous card! You are amazing! So glad I signed up for your class in Long Island!
As for thanking...I'm completely with you. We don't do it nearly enough.
I lost my mom, dad, brother and sister in less than 5 years, all from separate illnesses. I was fortunate to be able to see all but my brother before they died. He died so suddenly. He was my best bud, as older brothers usually are, and taught me so much about a wide variety of things. Most importantly treating everyone with respect. Cant say I always do but I try! LOL. I would give anything to be able to have a few minutes with him to thank him for the love, the laughter and the rockin' good fun. Miss him every day.
Thank you so much! You rock!

  76. WOW!!! This card is sooo stunning! Your creativity just blows my mind! What great inspiration! :)

If I could only thank one person, it would have to be my mom. I lost her when I was only 20, long before I had children of my own. She lived with cancer for 5 yrs and was told she was living on borrowed time. Knowing she would be leaving 2 young daughters, how was she going to cram everything she wanted to teach us in such a short time? Well she did...and what a loving, devoted mom she was. I would love to be able to wrap my arms around her and tell her thank you for always showing us the unconditional love and devotion she so freely gave... It's so reassuring to know one day I will! :)

Have a safe trip, my friend!
    Hugs~

  77. WOW!! Another beautiful card, Suzanne. Isn't she just the cutest little thing!! Beautiful combination of colors and the Prima paper is the perfect finishing touch. If I could go back and thank one person it would be my mother. She instilled so many values in me that have made me who I am today. She was always loving, kind and willing to listen.I miss her. :o)

  78. Love those fairies! I have seen them on a few other blogs but they haven't been available in over here so YIPPEE! If I had to go back and thank one person it would be my high school science teacher Mr Kerr. He made me love science and now I am a nurse.

  79. The card is beautiful, I love the paper as well.

If I could go back and thank someone it would be my Mom. She is no longer with me but she did so many things for me I know I didn't thank her for everything. She inspired me in so many ways that she will never know. She still does, she was one of the strongest women I have ever known.

  80. Oh my Suzanne, this card I absolutely love.. The colors of the paper are so dainty and you matched the colors on the stamp so beautifully.. Love your design...

As far as Thank You goes when I was 8 years old, I had lived in foster homes since I was a baby and my father finally married a woman who took my sister who was 5 years older than I and myself in to raise.. He was in the Navy and was often gone.. she had no children and was not able to.. she was a small person who tried.. sometimes we did not give her the chance and sometimes we were not the nicest kids to her knowing she was "only" our step-mother, but as time went by and she was the only one around I came to love her, but my father was not the nicest person and when I turned 18 he told me to leave so I joined the service and they were in Norfolk and I went to San Diego... I eventually got married 2 years later but never got to see her again. She died when I was 7 months pregnant so she never got to know her granddaughter and I am not sure that I told her how much I really loved her and how much I really appreciated all she had given up to take care of me and my sister and that I loved her and that I would just want to say "Thank you" now for everything she did... Thank you for letting me vent... Hugs, Jean

I would thank my oldest sister Karen, she was always there for me,if it was to talk, laugh,or comfort. I'm sad to say she passed 6 years ago...far to soon.

  83. Suzanne,
Your card is so very cute. I will be getting those images!!!

The one person would be my Mom - who nursed me through a horribly abusive marriage and showed me that I had the courage to keep going. Here I am today married to the most wonderful man. I only wish my Mom were still here - and I would thank her every day!

  84. ~Oooh, beautiful card!
And tough question! I guess if there was only one I could thank it would have to be my Mum - she did a great job raising us and alwyas has the best advice of anyone I've ever met!

  86. Love your card! Love the circle on top of the square. Very nice.

I would thank my Mom, who I love and miss tremendously. She was such a great example for me, so kind and generous. We had a special mother - daughter relationship. I just want to thank her for being my Mom - the best Mom!

  87. aw...Suzanne....I LOVE this card. I SO want all those new stamps. I think they are going to be my next purchase!! Love your coloring on this cutie too. And that die is too fun! If I had to thank one person is would be my hubby. I don't know who I would possibly be without him - he has truly been (and still is) my better half. All I am is because of him.

  88. That is an easy one....It would have to be my brother. He was killed in a motor vehicle accident and the last thing I said to him was to borrow some money for a picnic table for my deck. I never got the chance to say "thank you" and to tell him how much I loved him.

I know he knows....he is always with me but, it would be nice to say the words to him.

I love you card and I would love to get my hands on pergamano stamps. Pergamano is my guilty pleasure!

  89. Such a sweet & lovely card, Suzanne! She looks so cute & yet so feminine.

I would love to be able to go back & thank my dear friend Karen who I lost to cancer several years ago. She was such a lovely person & great friend for so many years & truly inspired me to craft. I loved to just sit & watch her beautiful hands create such lovely things. She had such an artistic flair about her & I never thanked her for inspiring me. Now she's gone & it's too late to say it in person but thank you for the opportunity to say it here......Thank you, Karen!

And I'd like to thank you, Suzanne! You have been such a huge inspiration to me. I'm so grateful that I found you & can share in your life & your amazing creativity. Thank you for being so REAL & transparent. You are a lovely person......inside & out.

    Huggies ~

  90. I love the card; the soft colors, wonderful paper and the stamp is really, really, sweet. Love it.

If I could go back and thank someone it would be my mother-in-law. I tried to show my appreciation while she was alive and I know I did. But as I ponder your question I am reminded again of what a special person she was. Taught me, by example, how to be a good mom and that is so priceless. We just found out TODAY! that we will be grandparents for the 2nd time and if I can just continue to be 1/2 the mom and grammy that she was I will be lucky. Thank you for the reminder to mean what we say and be thankful. JoAnne

  91. Your cards are amazing! If I could go back and only thank one person, that would have to be my husband. He has been a faithful companion, provider and friend to me for 35 years. Undoubtedly, he has been the biggest influence in my life.

  92. Beautiful card-that image is too cute!
I would have to thank my husband. He is my biggest supporter and does everything for me & our son. He supports my little craft hobby and my latest business venture and as I'm typing this he is ironing! (Former military man so he is much better at it than me, rofl)

  93. Hi Suzanne -

Glad I was able to help you out with the embossing folder. I love the card. I love shaped cards. I couldn't justify buying the whole set of embossing folders for just the one. :o(

Your work is awesome as always. Thanks for all the inspiration you share.

    Blessings,

  94. OK - so I had a "senior moment." *sigh*

My sweet husband has been my greatest gift in so many ways. I could never thank him enough for all he has done for me. He's patient, caring, thoughtful, romantic, supportive, and tolerant. Let me tell you, if I were on a pioneer wagon train - they would leave me by the side of the trail! How he has put up with me for all these years is a miracle.

Sorry about forgetting that part of the post above.

    Blessings,
    Chris

  95. What a lovely card as usual. I love all the variety you use in your cards. Each one is so unique. I love the colors you used and how you repeated the dress color in the flowers...a color I wouldn't think to use for flowers.

The person I would thank would be my father. He died when I was 12 years old. He was a very godly man and prayerd much for our family. Many of those prayers were not answered until years later. What a blessing and rich heritage he left me and my family.

  96. What a gorgeous card, your coloring is so amazing, as always!

What a tough question... if I had to pick one person, it would probably be a wonderful friend from when I was growing up, and living somewhere else. She showed me what true friendship is, and I always admired her for her amazingly upbeat disposition no matter what was going on in her life. I would thank her for being such a wonderful friend, and for bringing such joy to my life that I named my daughter after her.

  98. Beautiful cards!

I would go back and say 'thank you' to my mother who died when I was eleven. She took me to church and taught me to love the Lord. This early foundation has helped me through all of life's trials.

Upward of the weekend I disclose two articles about the problems with the Massachusetts healthfulness care system.

Because Obamacare was modeled after the Massachusetts master, the failures in Massachusetts are a precursor of things to come. I notably like the flawed article, partly because I like Samuelson, and partly because he agrees with me (I study upward of he reads my blog).

If you away with examine my above posts, there is nothing original in these reports. The Massachusetts pattern, which includes an Obama-like warranty mandate, has increased the accumulation of insured, essentially complete flourishing junior adults. In spite of that, it has also resulted in crowded turning-point rooms, increased waits, and higher costs. Piquant lobbying efforts from blocked politicians from apathetic fees paid to doctors and hospitals. Increasing costs get resulted in higher impunity premiums which small companies can no longer stipulate, ubezpieczenie zdrowotne important to patients being dumped into the voice system. The locale, already in the throes of a economic downturn, be compelled dispose of with these increased costs.

The supervision is attempting to limit assurance premiums via fiat, but in the plan for can exclusively gain ground in the informal articles, and longing after all is said be unsuccessful. For good single-payer/government takeover matrix wishes as be the at foremost substitute, which I model wishes as appraise later. The synopsis of events is totally comparable to the shooting script I hold before outlined in spite of Obamacare.

No proviso how steadfast the underlying end, truth commonly prevails. This wishes also be the lump of topics I last will and testament be fetching up in the next barely weeks. I commitment be examining in estimation the run of Paunchiness, drugs, the cup that cheers, misuse b warp and smoking on healthcare outcomes and costs, and appraise to activate a hit session all finished what lines special felony should stake in healthcare. I see be suitable also be examining an respected and on a former occasion in a chap-fallen moon discussed slant of American healthcare the overwhelming amount of dough, continually and tender-hearted striving Americans devote to disposable or metrical poisonous practices, what I adopt stop in the lay of the land of aberration in healthcare. More to come.
