Need a Lift??

Happy Wednesday everyone!! How are you all doing? Seems everyone in cyberland is sick with something, including here in our house--blech! Wonder if germs can spread thru the wires, LOL! Sending everyone out there get well wishes & lots of cyber chicken noodle soup for ya all (or tomato soup if you're like me and can't stand chicken noodle soup, LOL)!

I'm just gonna blurb quickly about something I was thinking yesterday & laughing over (at myself of course) and wanted to know who else out there is LIKE ME!! I was working on one of these cards and using some paper I've had forever and I was being so careful to not use too much, LOL, thinking omgoodness I need to save some for another time. Now, when I get paper I always buy 2 of each sheet or paper pad (seriously) so that I always have extra--yes I admit it I am a PAPER HOARDER, hee hee! I almost never use the 2nd piece and/or have lots of scraps letf--this has left me with a TON of paper but I cannot STOP myself from doing it. The thought of running out of that paper while I'm working on a project or wanting to use it again (which almost NEVER happens, lol) kills me and so I keep ordering 2 of each. The craft stores LOVE me for sure :o) Anyone have a 12-step plan for paper hoarding--cuz' I need help badly?? I've gone on many paper-buying hiatuses but to no avail--I think I'm a hopeless cause! So that being said, "who else is just like this, so I know I'm not alone, hee hee?"!!

"Got Patience?"

My first card for ya today uses a new digi image from Mo's Digital Pencil called "Patience"--as soon as I saw this I HAD to have it (good thing digi images are instant gratification, hee hee)! Being the mom to 5 cats, this just brought a huge smile to my face. We've only had cats for 4 years, but I can so imagine my kids doing this if they were smaller, LOL! I used the Friday Sketcher's Challenge sketch #74 from last week for my layout and my dp is from DCWV "Kitchen Stack". I colored her with Copics, added a few stickles & some diamond glaze on her bottle. The scrolls are from this punch here and flowers are all by Prima. This sentiment from PTI's "Everyday Button Bits" was just too perfect and I had to use it along with alot of my fave pearls!

Just another quick view of this lil' cutie. Copic colors on the cat were done w/ both the warm & cool grays. Her pants were done with B04,B02,B00,B0000 and reds were R08,R05, R02. Dontcha' just love her? Too cute--Mo has a way with her pencil that's for sure!

Second card uses a fabulously cute image from I Brake For Stamps called "Noah's Ark" and I just adore it! (if you order from them please use this coupon code "SAVE10SUZANNE" to get 10% off your entire order, 'kay)

When my son was born I painted an entire wall mural with a whimsical Noah's Ark (when my scanner is working again, I will load a picture of my mural) in his room. It was heartbreaking to leave it when we moved, but so fun to do. So of course I had to make a baby card with this image and I paired it with this cute dp by K&Co "Itsy Bitsy Baby Boy". The sketch is this week's Mojo Monday Challenge #109--such a fun sketch to use. The lil' sentiment is a rub-on from SU and then layered it with my oval nestabilities. I used my Bow Easy to create my bow and I HAD to add some fun matching buttons and some stickles on the image :o)

Here's a close-up of this cute image that I colored with Copics. I added stickles to the water & roof! So cute & perfect for a baby me thinks. Both of these cards today are for sale in my Etsy shop!!

Hope you enjoyed my projects for today! I'll be back here tomorrow with Blog Hop & some new releases for ya!!

hugz,
Suzanne

  1. sorry I can't help with the paper hoarding - unless to suggest you go digital then you can always print another sheet! 2 fabulous cards, those digi designs from Mo are so adorable, dare I try them on my printer though?!

  2. Your cards are fab Suzanne. Like you I am addicted to paper hoarding so sorry can't help with your recovery. You never know when you are going to be making a project that that piece would have been perfect for if only you hadn't used it all already!

  3. I do not know a remedy against paper hoarding, too, but I certainly share this addiction. Maybe I am even worse, because I tend not to buy two sheets of every paper I like, but I buy blocks of paper with 3-5 óf each pattern...
Both cards are great, I do know a young woman who carried her cat around like this when she was a little girl, the card would be perfect for her!
Now I have to eat your chicken noodle soup before it gets cold, thank you for that caring idea!

  5. Too cute. The one of the girl picking up the cat by the neck reminds me of my son picking up his baby sister by the neck because he was going to take her to the mall with us. She survived. And yes I have way too much paper along with way too many stamps and way too much of everything.

  6. Suzanne, I love both your cards today, I think I love the kitty one just a wee bit more. As for your paper hoarding, all I can say is that I buy 3 sheets (honest) and I don't think there is a cure. I still have a secret stash of BasicGrey "Tuxedo", lol. Thanks for the quickie glue stick, I sent my addy. Hugs

  13. Both your cards are beautiful. Noah's ark is colored beautifully - the perfect card for a little one. Especially love the little girl with the kitty. Reminds me so much of 1 of my daughter's who is always putting our cat in the doll carriage - he's so patient with her LOL! Just a darling image and colored beautifully! hugz, Angela

  17. OMG you sound just like me. I have all this paper that I just love and you have to buy it because once its gone you can't get it anymore and then you're afraid to use it because once its gone you can't get it anymore.

  18. I have been doing a new type of purge each year. If I have not used the paper from last year I am putting it in a box and sending it to someone who will use it (if they don't I dont care as long as it is out of my craft room). I also buy my paper in sheets of 2's just in case. I love your kitty card. It is so cute. I need to buy something off your Esty site so I have a Suzanne "original".

Now that I've made that confession.....your cards are adorable, especially the cat one, since I too am a cat lover. I'm off to see my new grandson soon and I know I'm going to miss my little kitty while I'm gone; is that sick????
You do such an awesome job with your coloring as well as putting them together, Suzanne....what talent!!

  20. Both cards are adorable! The girl with the cat reminds me of Junie B Jones, lol!! Sorry the sickies are going around your house....we just got over them & pray they are gone for good! Too much yucky stuff going around right now!! Paper...I really don't hoard, but I about died when I went to my friend's house for the first time & saw a mountain of paper stacked taller than us!! Now that's hoarding, lol!

  21. Suzanne, both cards are precious. Adorable images both, the one with the cat especially--Mo is such a whiz with that pencil of hers.
As for being a paper addict, I am just like you. I hoard paper. I honestly don't think I'll ever use ALL the paper I have already. I keep promising myself I won't buy anymore and then turn around and find new designs that I can't resist. There goes my pocket book! Sigh.

    Hugs.

  25. I totally hoard! I then forget all that I have horded and keep on buying. I must buy at least two if not four pieces...just in case. Now if I could figure out a way to remember all that I have hoarded away. Love the cards & well wishes are being sent your way. Remember...just one thing at a time is all you can do.

  26. I admit it...I am addicted to paper! I currently only 7 MEGA packs from My Minds Eye (4 were bought in the same weekend)! They each have 180 sheet!! Seriously...who needs that much paper? Of course that doesn't count the other tons of packs that I have from Basic Grey, Cosmo Cricket, Stampin' Up, and K&Co!
Get card...cute image...my kids HAVE done this before!

  29. OMGosh, Suzanne, thanks for telling us of your addiction to paper! Yep, me too! If you find the cure, please let me know!

Love, love, love your cards!!! That image from Mo's Digital Pencil is so darn cute! And your coloring is so perfect! And what a darling baby card. Love the Noah's Ark image and I always love a blue and yellow color theme!

  30. You definitely aren't alone on the paper hoarding. I love paper and I'd buy more all the time if I didn't feel guilty about breaking the budget. Love both of your cards. The cat card is funny! And the ark card is precious. Great job!

  32. Oh I am right there with ya!!! I just did it today. I HAD to buy 2 DCWV paper packs so I could be sure to not run out. I have so much paper I could never use it all. Thanks for the cute cards. Sandy C.

  33. I think paper hording is some kind of scrapbooking virus with no cure or vaccine. And it isn't just paper. I'm afraid it goes for most scrapbooking supplies. I am a quilter too and they have the same virus running wild. Get well soon everyone. Love the Patience digi image and also Noahs Ark. Cute cards.

  34. Oh can I sooo relate to your wanting to buy 2 sheets of paper when you maybe only need one - the only thing for me is... are you ready for this? Many times I will actually buy 4 sheets!!!! and the sad thing is, sometimes I STILL find that I just can't find the right paper that would go so perfect with a particular stamp - lol!!!!

I'm in love with your cards! Amazing, I say : )

  35. I, Sheila, am a paper addict. I see one project that I like on SCS and I buy the entire collection. I have entire collections of Fancy Pants (with chipboard & templates), My Mind's Eye (every individual Signature & regular papers), K & Co (don't ask, I not only have the papers, but every embellishment to go with EACH set) and now let's talk about Basic Grey...ALL OF THEM plus embellishments. Ok, and now let's talk about using them. Yep, I can't seem to use them. I also just love $1.00 section of Target...have bought SEVERAL collections and I just can't buy one of each, of course. Now to mention Stampin Up....got em! Ok, I'm done with my confession and still haven't told you the rest. I, Sheila, am a true paper addict and I need help.

  36. Hi, my name is Denise and I am a paper hoarder!

Now here is the 12 step program...

    1. Take paper out and use a piece.

    2. Run to the store and buy 2 more because you cut the last one and have to have a spare for when you might possibly cut the next one.

    3. While at the store decide you want another paper pattern. Select and buy it!

    4. While still at the store, Decide that now that you are buying a new paper pattern you need a new embellishment that goes with it, buy it.

    5. Get home and start working with the new paper, realize that that other embellishment that you saw is also something you wanted to use.

    6. Go back to the store and buy all the things that match just so you do not have to waste gas and go back again because you discovered you still needed a different embellishment.

    6. Get home and realize that you have all of these embellishments but now do not have but a few pieces of paper of that line.

    7. Go back to the store and buy every paper that matches that line.

    8. A few days later back at the store looking around see that the old line of paper that you have already and all of the embellishments are now on sale, oh um I have to buy more because it is one sale.

    9. Get home file everything together since it all matches. While doing that you realize it matches the other new line you just got.

    10. Sad thing is you don't think you have enough of those matching embellishments that you just got for the new line since it looks so great with the old line that you have to go back and get more.

    11. Go to the store and get more embellishments. Oh wouldn't you know it, they are putting out a new line of paper!

12..........Decide you are going to save yourself the time and money traveling back and forth since this is new and just being stocked make sure you grab at least one of every matching embellishment as well as 2-3 of each papers. This way you know you have totally covered all bases and have everything plus some of the entire line.
