Gobble, Gobble, Turkey!!

Hello Stampin' Friends & Fellow Artists!! How's it cookin' with ya today? LOL--yes my post today is all about the holidays coming up like Thanksgiving. Do you like Thanksgiving (for those of us who live in the US & Canada)? It's not really my favorite holiday--I like getting together with family but to me it's just a pre-cursor to my FAVORITE holiday, Christmas!! LOL! The past few years hubby and I have actually gone away for a few days over Thanksgiving to celebrate his birthday (11/22) and our wedding anniversary (11/4) which is fun. And I always start putting my Christmas decorations up Thanksgiving weekend, since it takes me a few days--and we try and go get our 2 real trees as well (the other 6 trees are fake)! Last year we took the kids up to NYC to see the holiday sites & to see the Rockette's Christmas Spectacular Show--it was alot of fun but it was FREEZING while we were there, no lie! Oh boy, did my legs freeze, not alot of walking but lots of cabs, hee hee---it was even too cold for the carriage rides, my son was quite disappointed but they just don't work the horses in that kinda weather. If you've never been to NYC at Christmastime, it is a must see that's for sure--we had dinner at the top of the Marriott (it revolves for a 360 degree view of the city) one night and of course made a stop by Rockefeller Center and Museum of Natural History. I just love it there! Anywho let's move on to the projects for today!!

NewsBitz:

Pink Cat Studio Digi Releases!!

So today, Melissa has released another fabulous set of images for the Pink Cat Studio Digi Store--see them all HERE!! These lil' images are sooo cute, I squealed when she sent them to me & giggled too--they're sure to bring a smile to your face! I knew as soon as I saw the lil' Pilgrim & Indian riding the turkeys, that they'd be PERFECT for table place setting cards! I love to make these, they quick & easy to do & really make your holiday table special. I shrunk the digi images down a bit so they were easy to put on top of tent-folded cs that I decorated. I made a candle wrap to match so everything for the table is coordinated! The papers are by Frances Meyer that I picked up at Michaels or AC Moore a bit ago!

Aren't these the cutest lil' images (you can click on them to make them larger)--their names are "IB Betty-Turkey Ride" and "IB Bobby-Turkey Ride"?! I colored them with Copics and then cut them out with my Nestabilities Labels 1 --while the image was still in the die I traced the shape with my gold Spica pen and then colored the outside edge w/ my E34 Copic. I cut some tags & attached them with dimensionals & added some fun rhinestones (pardon my awful handwriting)! The turkey's eyes got diamond glaze & some fun stickles on his wings & her feather! So cute, I just love 'em!

If this lil' image of "Turkey Family" doesn't make you smile, I don't know what will!! I love all their googly eyes, lol--I put diamond glaze on them to make them stand out more too! Just a fun, quick card for the holiday made w/ some coordinating paper, PTI twill and button & some fun Robin's Nest Dew Drops. Of course the turkey wings got some bling stickles!! Cracks me up I tell ya!

Last one for you today is a vintage kitschy card I made using "IB Betty-Baked a Pie"--isn't she cute w/ her pie & oven mitts on!? I used some of my favorite Graphic 45 papers for this one--she's colored w/ Copics (R24,R22,R20/G67,G63,G20/YR23,YR20/E25,E34) and some stickles added along w/ some diamond glaze on top of the pie! Buttons & ribbon are from PTI along with that cute round sentiment which is from their "Holiday Treats" set. I added a cherry embelly I had in my stash to the center to match the papers.

Now make sure & stop by the Pink Cat Studio Digi Store HERE to get your fabulous holiday images and to see what the DT has done with these cuties!

See ya back here tomorrow w/ some Magnolia projects for ya!

hugz,
Suzanne
