Fall Splendor!!

Hiya Friends & Happy Middle of the Week!! Thanks to everyone for their well wishes---I get at LEAST 10 sinus infections a year (especially in the spring & fall) so I'm pretty used to it, although they are not fun! And yes I use a Netti Pot, Nasonex & take vitamins, hee hee---doesn't matter, still get 'em (I blame it on genetics, my mom is the same & so is my son--so thanks Mom, LOL)! It is cool & dreary here in VA this week--kinda depressing, need some sun--can someone send me some please :o)!

For those that asked CHA Winter is in Anaheim, CA every year & it's a BLAST!! I laughed so much last year that my face hurt & I slept for 2 whole days after I came home from exhaustion, LOL! If I'm reading the newsletters from CHA, they are opening it up to EVERYONE for 2 days BEFORE the actual event so anyone can come those 2 days & visit & buy--see info for that HERE!

NewsBitz:

-Tomorrow Pink Cat Studio Digi Store releases some fabulously fun, new Thanksgiving/Fall images! Check back here to see my projects w/ them tomorrow!

******************************

I just love it when a card comes together EXACTLY like I imagined in my head, hee hee! I used to do alot of collage type of art YEARS ago & really loved it, so I'm just totally lovin' these collage stamps from I Brake For Stamps (see other project here). This one is called "Dahlia w/Ribbon Collage"see here (if you place an order for anything from I Brake For Stamps, get 10% off your order by using the code "SAVE10SUZANNE")!!

There is alot going on in this card--the image was stamped on top of my dp with Versamark & then embossed w/ Powder Keg Fall Splendor embossing powder (so pretty & shimmery). The background text was made by stamping my PTI "Text Backgrounds" onto the dp with rust ink. And I love, love this copper metal sheeting (get mine here)--I dry embossed mine with my Cuttlebug folder and then bent it a bit & attached w/ Scor-Tape (the sheeting is really fun to use). I made my own hat pin with some beads I had on hand--HERE is a great place to get hat pin supplies as well (if the pins are too long, I just snip it to the size I need w/ my Tonic scissors which I did here & then put an end cap on). I really, really LOVE this card, hee hee---it is so sparkly & lovely IRL--I hope to submit it, so we'll see....what do you think?

Next up are some Get Well Notecards I made up---with sickie season upon us, we can all use a stash of Get Well cards to have around! These are fun & quick to make up too! I love using this Lockhart Stamp Co. "Tissue Box" stamp--you can make it elegant or cutesy which is always fun. Today I opted for elegant and used some of my favorite Basic Grey "Eva" papers paired w/ PTI's cs & ribbon (plum pudding/lavender moon). I colored the image with Copics, added some stickles and used my Nestabilities Labels 3 to cut the image & cs out with.

A few pearls added to the bottom & then I love to use real Kleenex on this image--I just fan fold a small square & add it with Scor-Tape--FUN! And then you have some elegant Get Well cards for your stash!

Alrighty, I'm off to work on some projects for tomorrow including some new Pink Cat Digi stuff!!

Suzanne

  3. How elegant is that Dahlia? It's stunning and I love the colors and papers. That metal sheeting does it for me and the hatpin adds just the right vintage touch to it. It's just gorgeous! And those get well cards will come in handy! I love the paper and that is one of my favorite Lockhart images. It's so stinkin cute with the tissue coming out of it! Just perfect!

    Big hugs to you,

    Susan

  7. I too have suffered with the sinus infections forever. Sad thing is even after sinus surgery I stillget them. I do not wish that surgery on anyone! Not even my worst enemy! Oh I do not have an enemy! Cards are adorable as always. You can have some of our sun! It was 94 here today!

  8. Sorry to hear about your sinus infection but I do know the genetics of that. They happen to me too and so far I haven't found anything that helps either. We had beautiful sunshine today but we're supposed to get rain the next two days, up to 3 inches. Yippee! So maybe the sun we had will be heading your way. Unfortunately it doesn't last very long. I love the tissue box card. Not only is it my fav color but that's just too cute. Great card to have on hand in case someone gets the flu! Thanks for the inspiration! Hope you're feeling better really soon! Hugs!
