Fall Elegance & Blog Candy TOO!!

Happy Wednesday everyone! How ya doin'? Are you a busy, busy bee like me, hee hee?! Lots to get done this week & not enough time to do it all! I'm still frantically trying to hunt down a couple more things that the kids need for school supplies--I hate that the middle school doesn't give out their lists early when all the stores are well stocked, makes it so much harder for everyone! I've got a very long post for ya today so I'll keep my "monologue" shorter for ya, lol! There's alot on this post including my kid's first day of school pics, 300,000 Hits Blog Candy & my project of the day--so make sure & scroll all the way down to see it all!

This is Alexa yesterday all ready for the first day of 8th grade! She's always hated to wear dresses & skirts but I guess she's starting to change her mind cuz' she insisted she needed this jean skirt, hee hee! Can't believe she'll be 14 soon--where does time fly off to?
Here's my "little man" (don't let him know I told you my nickname for him or else he'll kill me, hee hee)! Gettin' to be a big man I think (boo hoo) and in 6th grade now! This is his half grin cuz' he hates me taking his picture but I do it anyway cuz' that's what mom's do, hee hee! He was pretty nervous & didn't want to eat much breakfast and came home & said that middle school was "ok" but he had issues with his locker! Crossing my fingers that tomorrow goes smoother for him!

Today's project is one I made as a thank-you gift for a neighbor/friends of ours that had us over for a lobster feast dinner this past weekend--YUM! I love all seafood & crabs & lobster are my top favorites and they were so sweet to ask us over! So to thank them I made them some homemade muffins (raspberry & chocolate chip--yes I made extras for us too, hee hee), a card and a bread basket towel that I stamped & colored!

I haven't done stamping/coloring w/ Copics on fabric in awhile, but I do love it--it's so much fun! I have a tutorial on my sidebar on how to do this if you're interested--I stamp on my fabric with memento ink when I'm coloring the image w/ Copics! Copics are permanent & fabric friendly--I always heat set it with an iron when I'm done so that it is washable! The main image is my all-time favorite Lockhart stamp "Harvest Candle"--I use this stamp alot in the fall season! The swirls and leaves are from the Paper Trey Ink set "Fall Elegance" and I stamped them in Palette Inks which are washable inks as well. I thought this would be lovely in a bread basket for the fall season--I'm going to make a couple more (one for myself & some to sell if you're interested). The swirls & leaves go around the entire towel (which is a flour sak towel) and on the opposite corner is the same fabulous Lockhart image colored again.

I of course had to make a matching card with the same Lockhart "Harvest Candle" stamp! It's colored w/ the same Copics and then I added diamond glaze to the hurricane candle & grapes and stickles on the leaves. The elegant shape is from my Nestabilities Labels 4 and I shaded the edges with my favorite Inkssentials Blending Tool (oh how I love it)! The cs, dp and ribbon are from PTI--the bow was tied w/ my Bow Easy and then I added some Bella Baubles to the bottom. The leaf charm is actually a brad and I cut off the back shanks & then punched thru the metal with my hole punch so I could make it a charm!! A perfect fall gift set! Whaddya think?

Whew, that was a long post and I'm tuckered out from just typing it, LOL! Hope you have a fabulous day!

My most favourite book... oh my, I've read so many of them, but I think the one book that has well and truly caught me was "The Neverending Story" by Michael Ende. I just loved it, I couldn't put the book away and just had to read on and on. I basically grew up with this story, first with the film(s) and later the book and I think it's a story every child should know.

There have been other that have probably been just as good, but this one came to my mind first.

My favorite book is The House of Sand and Fog. I read it before the movie (always recommended). It made me mad, sad, happy, laugh. I loved every character and found myself routing for each of them to win the house. The book has stayed with me after all of these years- that is great writing (all of my emotions were used!). Of course my next favorite is Time Travelers Wife. I kept forgetting that it was fiction! What a great love story it was- Henry and Claire were just meant for each other!

  27. Thanks for the wonderful blog. I check everyday because I am new to Copic and your work is great. I saw your videos on YouTube and that is how I found your blog.
I see your son is about he same age as mine so when I tell you about my books you will understand.
My favorite book is the "Whimpy Kid series" all 3 of them. My son loves these books and has read them over and over and he is always talking about Greg. So, I decided to read them and they were really cute and funny. After reading them I could dicuss them with my son which made a big difference when he talked about them. We get a kick by talking about them together and just make comments to each about the books. At this point in the 5th grade I think I would do anything to help him in his reading. I guess I will be reading more of his books now since by reading the whimpy kids has helped him a lot. Now he is into magic and I have been reading about Harry Houdini but by next week he will have changed to something else...LOL.
    Have a great day.

  28. Hi Suzanne!
Best wishes for your children this year at school. I remember the first day of school with my daughter over the years. As a mom I think we are always just as nervous as they are!
The blog candy is awesome. Congrats on so many hits in a year and a half! Your blog is a grand place to visit.
My favorite book? Has to be Sidney Sheldon's "Master of the Game". That book was so intriguing. I could not put it down. But the thing that got me was the ending. Not anything I expected. Great mystery. Love his books!

  29. What great blog candy!!
My favorite book is "A Prayer for Owen Meany" by John Irving. This is a book that really stays with you. For several weeks after I finished the book, I really missed the characters. They had become real to me. It's a great book. The movie "Simon Birch" is based on this novel.

  30. OMG, that's a big give away, my friend!!!
    Congrats on hitting 300,000!

First I have to say your towel and card is wonderful, and the muffins look wonderful too! =0)

It's hard to choose just one book, I've read so many that I like, but I think I have to say East of Eden by John Steinbeck, the story just held me captivated, couldn't put the book down...

Now I'll put a picture of your blog candy in my sidebar.

    Have a nice day!

  31. Fantastic blog candy, congratulations on your success! Besides my Bible, my favorite book(s) right now is the A.D. Chronicles series by Bodie & Brock Thoene.

Big congrats on all your!...gotta feel the love there! You have taught us all so much and we appreciate you and all the hard work that goes into doing all you do!
Ok, my fav all time book is "The Gentle Ways of the Beautiful Woman" by Anne Ortlund it contains 3 books in one and I have read it 'more than once'!!! It speaks to my heart as a woman and how I can bring beauty to the world around me, starting in my heart and home and children. It's so much a 'how to' book as it is an attitude adjustment...which I often need and probably why I've read it again and again!

Your thank you gift here is gorgeous...I really like the way you brought that image to life on the card and matching are such an inspiration!
Off to tweet about your candy, have a beautiful day!
    Blessings, Maria

  34. What fantastic candy! I think my favorite book would have to be "Twilight" by Stephenie Meyer. Seems kind of dorky, I know - but I wanted to know what my daughter was reading, and they are great books! I love that there are morals tucked into the storyline, and that it's such a FUN series to read.

  35. Congratulations!
My favorite book ever is Jonathon Livingston Seagull by Richard Back. It's very uplifting I find, it has been a favorite of mine since I was a tween and it still is. :)

  36. Suzanne, congrats on your hits! Your blog is awesome!

My favorite books are the Twilight series. I know that is so popular now, but I have always been a scary movie buff. Vampire movies are my favorite, so this series was perfect for me. I couldn't put them down. Stephanie Meyer is a great writer for my taste.

Thanks for the chance to win!

  37. Suzanne - love your blog and cannot wait to take your Copic class in September.

Twilight Phantasies – Maggie Shayne. I bought this book to read while my husband was on deployment. It was so interesting that I decided to buy the whole Wings of the Night series and figured I would have enough to read while he was away for 7 months. Needless to say there were 11 books and I had them all read within a couple of months. They caught my interest so bad that I actually called into work sick one day just to continue reading. You gotta love Maggie Shayne and whatever keeps you reading has to be a good author. I am so upset there is not another book until 2011 in regard to this series.

    Linda (

  38. Hi Suzanne, your blog has done so much to help me grow in using Copics. Thanks so much for all the wonderful work you put into your tutorials. I really appreciate the African Hair and Skin one.

Your blog candy looks delicious. My mouth is watering already. I guess my most favorite all time book is Ann of Green Gables. I can't tell you how many times I read that book as a child. Second would be The Diary of Ann Frank, who's story broke my young and tender heart in my teens.

  45. I think my favorite book would have to be "The Go Giver" Basically the book tells us how to go from a "go getter" to a "go giver" "changing focus from getting to giving—putting others’ interests first and continually adding value to their lives—ultimately leads to unexpected returns" It's just an awesome, easy read book with lots of value!

  46. Congrats, Suzanne, on all the blog hits....wowee! And what awesome blog candy! Whoever wins will be one lucky person!
Gosh, to name a favorite book, I guess it'd have to one I read recently, "90 Minutes In Heaven". Awesome book, and easy read.

  47. Congrats on the hits! That's amazing! Thanks for your creative inspiration! I think my fav book as an adult was Bridges of Madison County. I'm a hopeless romantic! As a child I loved (and still do) the Nancy Drew books! :-) I enjoy reading them with my daughters, now. They love looking at my collection of ND books - many are first edition books and somewhat 'antique'.
Thank for the chance to win!
    Barb Moyer

  51. Yay on your 300k hits. I am probably responsible for about 150k of those. hehehehehe. I visit often, :) I send all of my friends here too. So I am not surprised that you are at 300k... I am sure that everyone else does the same!

As far as all time book favorites... my timeless read is always the Count of Montecristo. No clue why. It is just always my fave. I have about a 100 faves.

  52. Bonjour,

  53. Wow! Congrats on your hits Suzanne, & thanks for the chance to win your awesome candy! Favorite book....hmmm....I love to read & have read so many good ones, but the ones that really made me laugh out loud were the Shopaholic books. I read all of them twice & will probably read them again!! After a crazy day, I need a fun, light book at I can forget how stressful my day was :)

  54. that is hard because I love to read and so many books are good in so many ways. Young adult I love the Harry potter series, magic drama and little romance even I'm reading them to my five year old son. An adult book would be Book of Negros because of the strong charaters. But my go to are always romance because of ease of the read.

  55. Congrats on 300,000 hits!!! I love your site and all the helpful and inspirational info you have.
My fav book.... hard to pick one but "Where the Red Fern Grows". I remember reading it when I was younger and crying and crying... Such a timeless and ultimately sad story but also containing inspiration, love and hope. I still get a bit teary-eyed thinking about it to this day :)
It's one of the first books I really remember reading.
Anyway, thanks so much for the opportunity to win the blog canday!

  56. Hi Suzanne,

My favorite book is Frenchman's Creek by Daphne DuMaurier. It is a pretty old book but I love it.
    Thanks! Jeanette

  57. Wow what fab candy! I am an avid reader and I have 2 favorites. one being Kiss of God written by a kid who can not talk but writes the most beautiful poems by an alphabet board. The second is my life as a furry red monster. It's about the life lessons the guy who plays elmo has learned by the famous puppet! I think it should be required reading LOL. Thanks for the chance to win.

  58. Wow lots of goodies you are so generously giving away! Thanks for the chance to win them! MY favorite book I've ever read would have to be charlotte's web. I love the movie and the book, I wanted a pig for the longest time as a kid after I read it!

  59. What an amazing achievment reaching 300,000 hits. You deserve it as you must be an inspiration to everyone.

My favourite book must be Twilight series as I like the idea of the vampires and the love story which goes with it. My other book which I read I think the quickest as I read quite deep into it is called Last Man Down - A Firemans Story which was a true story about events which happened during 9/11. It was unbelievable what everyone was going through waiting to be rescued etc and made me cry! I will keep this book always.

Again congratulations and I have put a link in the sidebar of my blog.

    Jayne xx

  60. Hi Suzanne,
Thanks for the special candy - very exciting! Great job on the card & towel. I'll have to watch your tutorial. Those muffins look yummy too. Very cute kids - love the half smile from your son. My son is the same age - it's a fun age.
Anywho... My favourite book is by Stephen King - Salem's Lot. I think it was the first Stephen King book that I read. I was surprised and excited at how intense that I felt while reading it. I had never been frightened by a book before. At the time, I didn't think a book could possibly scare more than a movie. As it turned out, it scared me more. It was all in my head... And I couldn't shut my eyes to get away from it. It was FANTASTIC. I still smile when I think about that feeling.
Have a great week - hope you get all your chores accomplished.
    Donna M.

  61. Congrats on all the hits!!!
My favorite book of all time is The Notebook. It's such an easy read and such a wonderful love story. I can quote you most of it :)
although these days I'm also totally digging the twilight series. I only recently read them because I was unsure of all the hype but they are so worth the read :)

  62. Hi and Congratulations.

My favorite book is Angela's Ashes, I started reading thinking it was a bio because I love those books and it was so much more. I laughed at some but cried at a lot more. The movie was no where near as good. It made me appreciate the life I had here. Thanks for asking.

  63. Hey Suzanne. Excellent blog candy. I love to read and have to say my favorite would be "The Outsiders" by S.E. Hinton. When I was in sixth grade, our reading teacher read out loud to us every day. This was one book that really stood out for me.

  64. CONGRATS! Your blog is just so great! I love how you introduced me to copics and now I really want some! I am just amazed how you use them with your stamps and even on projects. They are just gorgeous! Keep inspiring!
My favorite book is The Notebook. I have alot of favorites but this is such an amazing love story. Especially when you have taken care of people with Alzheimer's Disease. Reminds us that love withstands the strongest tests. Just like the Time Traveler's Wife, another great love story :)
Anyways, thanks for sharing all your great cards, projects and beautiful children! Have a first week of school!

  65. Suzanne, congrats on so many hits, I can certainly understand because I follow you faithfully. I simply can't wait...brings back some wonderful memories!! ...Ellen P

  66. Widely read and greatly appreciated -- your blog that is. Congratulations. My other favorite read? The Secret Life of Bees -- I've read it 3 times now, listened to it on tape, and watched the movie twice. Guess that means of love it. I adore all the characters but esp. August -- so pure of heart. And how can you not love a story with a happy ending.

I love the fantasy, dark side, love story and the fact that it appeals to all ages (I even know several in their late 50's who love it. I am on my second time around and love the fact that it brought me back to me time and reading again.

I think I love it so much because of the suspense and how it takes you to a magical it! Thanks so much for the opportunity to win such awesome blog candy!

  83. Suzanne, congrats on all those hits! Thanks for offering such fantastic blog candy. Your kids look great on their first day of school. We started on Aug. 13, and our middle school also doesn't give supply lists ahead of time. Very annoying! I don't know that I can pick a favorite book, but I'm on a Jodi Picoult kick right now, actually for the last couple of years. I love all her stuff! I just recently finished "My Sister's Keeper" and it was a tear jerker, but her books always make me cry. I haven't seen the movie yet.

    Amy Leggate

  85. oops! forgot to leave my email.

  86. Hi Suzanne! Congrats on 300k, that is a lot! I subscribe to your blog in my google reader & love to see your gorgeous creations... this harvest card & stamping on the fabric project is beautiful (& the muffins look yummy)! My favorite book was Along Came a Spider by James Patterson, it was awhile ago but I couldnt put the book down, so suspenseful. I had to get his next few books after that too. Recently, I fell for the Twilight series.... same thing, couldnt put it down just drew me in with the love story. Just finished up the Time Travelers Wife too...another good one. Thanks for the chance to win this candy, so generous of you. Michelle mach713 {at} gmail {dot} com.

  87. What AWESOME candy!! Thank you for the chance to win it!

My favorite book is To Kill A Mockingbird.

  88. I fondly remember my first gothic romance novel that I ever read – “Wicked Loving Lies” by Rosemary Rogers. I had never even heard of this type of book before (we are talking 30 years ago). I was enthralled with this book, and wishing that I could meet a guy just like the man in this novel. I even missed a bus because I was so involved with the story. She wove this tale of romance, intrigue and suspense so artfully that I felt as though I was living it. I have since moved on to murder and mayhem, court room dramas, etc., but this one book will forever stay with me! Beautiful children by the way!

  89. Would DEARLY love to win your generous blog candy! My favorite book is a childs book called Smile For Auntie. I have read it hundreds of times and then bought it for my little grandson when he was born. I also bought the video of it and Oh, my! It was NOT what I expected. Almost scary! What a shock!!!! I laugh now but it was 15 dollars down the drain!

  90. Hi! Thank you for the chance to win!
I've linked yor blog candy on my sidebar:

    And now, the question!
I have two books in my soul: "Pride and prejudice" by Jane Austen and " Gabriella, garofano e cannella" (I don't know the english version!) by Jorge Amado. Strong women that let love guide their lives!!! Excuse me for my english, but I'm italian!
    Thank you again. Kisses Rossana

  91. Congratulations Suzanne on your monster number of blog hits. Your blog is on my list of daily stops. I guess my favorite book would have to be "green eggs and ham". I have read it many times to my boys and now am reading it to my grandkids. Awesome candy.

    thanks much
    Linda w

  92. Congratulations on reaching 300,000 hits - that's a great accomplishment! One of my favorite books is "The Revolt of Sarah Perkins" by Marian Cockrell. It has been out of print for some time. A spinster lady living with her brother, just turned 30, takes a teaching job our west - which she has to travel by train and stagecoach to reach. It is humorous and witty, and the heroine is one spunky gal!

  93. Congratulations on the 300,000 hits! That is some amazing candy.

It is hard to narrow down to a favorite book -- I love "Oh, the Places You'll Go" by Dr. Seuss (it was read at my senior banquet in college). A non-children's favorite is Doctors by Erich Segal. I love the characters and the relationships in it.

  94. Suzanne: deserve all those hits. AWESOME. I know I did my part. TeeHee...

My favorite book...goodness I read everyday, so it is hard to pick a favorite, so...I love Christian romance books and love Karen Kingsbury....her series The Baxter Series were awesome. Also one of my recent favorites was The Shack.

Congrats again....and thank you for giving us a chance at such wonderful Blog Candy. You rock girlfriend. Hugs, Pat J.

  95. Oh I forgot to tell you why on my books...first Karen Kingsburg...first they just touch your soul. They are stories of real life happenings and how people go through all the trials of life. They make you laugh, cry, rejoice, etc. The what can be said that hasn't already been said. It is just an amazing book and a very different way to look at spirituality. I loved this book.

  96. I can't believe all the blog candy! I sure hope you pick me!
My favorite book of all time is probably Goodnight Moon. I know it's a child's book, but it sure brings back happy memories of my children (now ages 21 & 27). I read it to my grandkids now!

  97. Hi Suzanne,

Wow, what awesome candy! You are so generous. I love to read, it's my favorite thing to do next to stamping :) My favorite book of all time is A Time to Kill followed closely by Pride and Prejudice. I also love mysteries, Mary Higgins Clark is awesome. Anything by Nicholas Sparks is going to be wonderful, but you'll need some Kleenex :) Basically, I love everything, it's hard to pick just a few :)

    Hugs, Christine

  98. Suzanne
Your daughter is a knockout! I am partial to girls as I have 1 daughter and 1 granddaughter.
    Your blog candy is yummilicious!
The Lockhart(>?) card with the muffins is beautifully done.
    Sharon L

  99. Great blog candy, thanks.
Love the photos of your kids and your projects. I appreciate all the help you offer on your blog with the tutorials. My favorite book would be the Bible. It has all the answers when I have questions.

  100. Congrats! What a yummy gift! The towel and card are amazing. Thanks for the chance to win.

  101. Suzanne, WOW!! Congrats on all the hits. Your project is amazing, as always. I love to read, reading and stamping are my 2 hobbies. I am really hard pressed to pick one book as a favorite, but I would probably say "Ten Big Ones" from the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich. Laugh out loud funny and a real page turner. I've read it several times already and will read it many more in the future. I also loved the Harry Potter series, the Twilight series, and I will admmit it, I like romance and romantic suspense. :)

  102. What a fab gift! Yummy too. I love that stamp. Congratulations on 300K+ hits. That is wonderful. I'd say my favorite book is To Kill A Mockingbird. It's a classic filled with many emotions and life lessons along the way. Many thanks for the chance to win!

  103. Wow so many comments already, you're so popular and I know why ... I stop by everyday ... my favorite book, I don't have one but I have a favorite author and that is the books by Judith Michael, everytime I read one it makes me want to write a book myself ...

  104. I love your blog - wonderful creations! The Copics tutorials are great too. You make it look so easy! As for my fave book, probably Tigana by Guy Gavriel Kay. Such a magical story. His other books rate up there as well - one of them was responsible for my planning our honeymoon to Turkey!

  105. "What book is your favorite that you've ever read & why?"
I would have to say that the Sword of Truth books by Terry Goodkind are my favorite books (right now). Imagine 12 books at about 700 pages each-it's a wonderful lengthy series that captures the human spirit and examines love, truth and loyalty just to name a few.

  106. Gee - asking a favorite book is like asking which is your favorite child! There have been too many over the years (books, not children -HA!!) that I can't pinpoint one book. I guess the one I refer back to the most, though, would be the Bible.

  107. Congrats for your 300 000 hits. I have put a link to your blog on mine. I love to read so picking just one book is difficult but I really like all the books by James Patterson featuring Alex Cross. When I start reading one of his book it is difficult to stop until the end. (my email is in my blog).
    Hugs, Line

  108. Oh, it's beautiful! And that blog candy - wow! My favourite book is one I read in Grade 6 called Summer of My German was so emotional and heart-wrenching and it just always stuck with me. Of course there are a hundred books I could list but I always love that children's book. Thanks! Love your blog...

  109. What a great blog! I just found you through a You Tube card making video. Your cards are wonderful. As to my favorite book, that is a hard one. I love to read and have many favorite authors. Today the book that comes to mind is Morning Glory by LaVyrle Spencer. I read this one first back in the '90s and have read it many times since. The main characters are unusual and face many challenges. Their story tugs at your heartstrings. There's even a wonderful librarian that plays an important part in this great story! Congratulations on your successful blog and thanks for the chance to win the great "candy".

  110. Oops! I typed my email wrong.

  111. I love your card and towel. They are both gorgeous. No wonder you have 300,000 hits your work is wonderful. My favorite adult book would probably be Pride and Prejudice. I love it because it shows how foolish we can be and that yes we can change our ways.

  112. Wow what great blog candy! My favorite book to read is Brave New World. I like this book because it talks about how we all work as a society and it encourages people to think outside the box.

  113. Wow, 300,000 hits. I love reading your blog. Your children are adorable--but they grow up way too fast.
My favorite book of all-time is The Thorn Birds--abt. 1,000 pages, but I couldn't put it down. Forbidden love can be quite enticing. The mini-series was almost as good.

  114. My favorite book is the Bible. It's inspirational and I can find answers to whatever problems or situations I'm going through. My email address is

    Debbie S.

  115. Congrats on 300,000 hits! I am not surprised by that, because you have a very inspirational blog. And what a fabulous blogcandy. Thanks for the chance to win.

  116. My most favorite book I have ever read is the Bible. I like it because it gives me hope in the future.

I love your blog and look forward to each post. You are one talented lady!

  117. My favorit book is daiery of Anne Frank. This should never happen.

  118. Congrats on your milestones! Wow! And I would have to say that Stephen King's Gunslinger series ranks on the top of my list....although Tolkien's LOTR is up there as well.

  119. I love your blog and all your copic tutorials. Where would I be without them? Thank you so much for the opportunity to win such great blog candy. My favorite book is Manchild in the Promised Land by Claude Brown and Before the Mayflower by Lerone Bennett Jr. They were both books that touched my life and helped me accept a few very hard lessons. Congrats and I can't wait to see what 300,000 more hits brings us!

  120. Hello Suzanne,
My favorit book is from Don Piper and it is called 90 minutes in Heaven (90 minuten in de hemel in Dutch). Two years ago our son Wilfred died because of an accident by the farm and when such a thing happens to you, you think a lot.... I wanted to be sure if he (our son) is "oke" now. Because of this book I believe that our son is also in Heaven now! My story is sad, but we have still 6 children left to take care of and we want for them a happy life on earth and how can you accieve that? By beiing yourself a person that enjoys to live, therefore I spend my time in making cards to sell them and give (a great part of) the income to our church and to an "home for elder people" (I do not know the word for it in Englisch). I hope I have some luck!

  121. Hi Suzanne, congrats with the 300,000 hits of your blog!! :))))) and what a great candy you giving away.
My favorite book is Dear and Glorious Physician written by Taylor Caldwell. I would like to read more of her books, but it´s so difficult toi find the translation here. Why??? I love philosophy books... it makes me think .:)))

Your children are great and your muffins ... My God!!!

Hugs and a wonderful week for you.

  122. How lovely! I have not tried to ink on fabric (chicken girl here) but this is so wonderful. The card is amazing with the great combo colors. Well done.

    Becky T

  123. Congratulations on a truly amazing amount of hits.I've been reading your copic tutorials and recommending them to friends just starting.

  125. Congrats on all your hits and thank you for the blog candy offerings and great tutorials. My favorite books are Harry Potter, The Twilight series and House of Night series - the last two are currently my favorites because my 17 year old daughter reads them and it gives us something to connect and talk about. Believe me as a parent of a teen - any chance you get to connect - you grab! Plus the books are very entertaining. My email is

  126. Wow....your blog candy would be heavenly!! I don't really have a favorite book, but I do have one that is very memorable!! I read Robin Cook's "Marker" in 2006 right before I had my son. Basically, a woman finds out she has a genetic pre-disposition to cancer and ends up in the hospital for an unrelated problem. To avoid rising insurance costs, an insurance company is slipping drugs into IV's of patients with genetic markers causing a lethal heart attack. So I go in to be induced with my son and when the nurse goes to put the IV in I made sure to tell the nurse about the book and made sure that wouldn't happen to me. I was being so silly and paranoid!! It just really stuck with me as I was at the nurse's mercy!

  127. I love to read so this is a hard question. My favorite book would have to be the Bible because of all the timeless truths and help you can find.

  128. Hi Suzanne, WOW congratulations on all your hits -But its no surprise really when u look at all the great tutorials you provide and amazing cards. I for one have u to thank for helping me with copic colouring. You have helped me sooooo much. Thankyou.
Now for the book- THE TWILIGHT Series. Could not put these books down- Loved them!!!!Cheers and Hugs,Debra.

  129. I loved John Grisham's book The Painted House. I love family sagas and generational stuff so this was right up my alley. I could name many many books that I love. I read all the time! I hope you will condense the answers and post them so we can check them out. What is your favorite book?

Congrats on the 300,000 blogs. You got a big chunk of candy there too! But my favorite book that I just finished and that I spent half a box of tissues was the biography of Dewey... famous cat in Iowa. Maybe not the best time to read it after losing our first pet Trouble.

  135. I also love anything by Diana Gabaldon but I think her first book "Outlander" is my favorite. My email is Congrats on the blog and thanks for the opportunity to win some blog candy.

  136. Hi Suzanne, Congrats on all the hits, Love your Blog, and your great tutorials for copics (my new found love). I have not read very much in the past few years, busy lives with kids and all their activities, but last spring I really got into the Twilight series, I guess I wanted to see what my daughter was so excited about....I got hooked too!! hehehe

  137. Amazing Suzanne ... what an accomplishment. You are amazing and so are your tutorials!! I just love them. I have also added your candy to my blog.

My favorite book is the Bible. No matter how many times I read it I always learn something new.

  138. What a wonderful candy! I'm with Stephanie in the comment above. My favorite book is the Bible. I never get tired of it and the wonderful story of redemption!

  139. Wow! That is a lot of hits in such a short time!! Great job! Thank you for sharing such yummy candy!! That is really awesome!!! I REALLY hope to win, please, please, please!!
I will be honest, I am not a huge book reader. But my favorite book that I read was Tom Clancy's Clear and Present Danger. It was a LONG time ago...way before 9/11...and way before the movie...the book was way better than the movie.

  140. First of all, WOW, now that is some blog candy! Thanks for sharing your great talent and of course, the blog candy. Now, I am stalling to figure out what is my favorite book...yes, shame on me, I don't read to often. So, I'm going to have to see the Teeny, Tiny Woman. It's been the first book all three of my children read first. I loved it so much, I taught them to read with this book. There was a woman....oh, I don't need to tell you it. Again, thanks. Sheila

  141. I just love seeing your creations everyday! You are so talented in so many ways! Danielle Steele is probably my favorite author and I have read most all of her books but don't really have one I can say is my absolute favorite right now! I love em all!!! Congratulations on 300,000 hits!!!

  142. Congrats on all the hits!!! I love the towel, never thought to make a towel like that!

My favorite book would be Confessions of a Shopaholic. I love the funny, goofiness of it!

  143. I love the tea towel you stamped,
it's so pretty!! I am an avid reader it's hard to pick one book but here goes: "The Gurnsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society" by Mary Ann Shafer and
Annie Barrows. It is written in the form of letters and the storyline is so endearing. I love anything written by Nicholas Sparks who is coming to Atlanta on Saturday :)!!!! Can't wait to meet him. Love your blog and all of the awesome projects you create.

  144. First off Suzanne, congratulations on your milestone with your blog. What an accomplishment!!! For my favorite book, wow that's hard. I've read some great spiritual books before and after my son's death that were truly inspirational and moving, and I'll never forget The Notebook. However, I think one of my all time favorites for real page turning literature was Ken Follett'sThe Pillars of the Earth. It was so beautifully written about a subject matter that I thought I'd never be really interested in, and yet I could not put that book down!!! It was remarkable and transported me back in time; I'll never forget it.

  145. Wow, what awesome candy. I just got some of my firstt Sugar Nellie stamped images and you have stamp in there. I fell in love with the stamped images I got. Anyway, af far as favorite book...Perfect Stranger. It is not the common type of books that it seems that someone will pick up. I had never even heard of the author Cleida Hedrick until my neighbor came over and was telling me about his sister-in-law asked him to paint a painting for the cover of her book. At that time he did not have children and asked if my son would be his model for the book. Anyway, long story but he finished the painting showed it to his SIL who said to him-you did not read the book to know what the character looked like did you? Nope, he did not, was all good and well but he had to put curly hair on the picture. So although it is a good story they used the likeness of my son and my had holding his hand on the front cover! So I am pretty partial to the book!

Congrats on all the hits and great candy! This is my only ways of getting new stuff right now with the economic problems here!

    Denise Wells

My favorite book I ever read is "Gone With the Wind". It was a thick book and very different than the movie but it was a good read. Once I picked it up I couldn't put it down. I was in high school at the time and I would read on the bus, at lunch and even during classes. hehe.. just don't tell my teachers! :P (I graduated in 1983. LOL)

Anyway, thanks for the chance to win!

  158. sorry, forgot the email

  159. Congrats on 300K hits, that is awesome! Love the fall towel you made, I guess I do need Copics after all *L* My favorite book is A Prayer for Owen Meany, by John Irving. It was one I had to read for an independent studies class(many moons ago *L*) and simply fell in love with it. It really grabbed at my hearstrings and I was amazed at Owen's faith for such a young boy. Definitely a good read.

  160. My new favorite books are the Twilight series, my favorites change as I find new ones, I also love Angels and Demons by Dan Brown, very interesting perspective. Congratulations on your blog hits, I'm a brand new baby blogger and am learning alot. Thanks for sharing all you do.

  161. Great back to school photos -- where DO the years go?

Yummy muffins and just as yummy blog candy! Congrats on 300 K hits; it's all for a good reason or should I say 'amazing talent'?

It's almost impossible to choose only one all-time favorite book, but I'll go with '1984' because not only was it the year I graduated high school, but the idea of that possible future has definitely left a lasting impression!

  162. Congratulations on 300,000 hits and I love looking at your blog. And I enjoy watching your tutorials and they are very helpful. The card, matching towel and baked muffins are a great thank you gift. You did a great job!

As to my favorite book, I have to say I'm not a reader of books. I like working on craft projects more than reading. So I don't have a favorite book.

Thanks for offering this fantastic blog candy. I know the winner will be very happy with it.

  163. You blog is fantastic. My favorite book is "The horse whisperer" I just love horses.

  164. You blog is fantastic. My favorite book is "The horse whisperer" I just love horses.

  165. Congrats Suzanne on your 300,000 hits. I love your blog and check it almost every day. You actually are the reason I began stamping and using Copic markers this year. I've had so much fun!

My favorite book is the Outlander series. A little time travel, romance and action and adventure rolled into one! If you've never read them, you should!

Thanks for offering the blog candy!

  166. Hi Suzanne,
First I'd like to thank you for your blog. It's one of only a couple that I regularly subscribe to. I love your stories (especially the one about the snake in your back yard! Hee hee)
For myself To Kill a Mockingbird is my favorite and when my daughter was little, she loved for me to read her Feliciana Feydra LeRoux because I would do all the characters with Cajun accents. I WILL be buying that book for her to read to my grandchildren one day. Love your cards and project ideas(wish I could afford Copics).

  167. Whoa, I'm supposed to pick just one?? OK, I'll just give you authors names. Margaret Atwood and Amélie Nothomb.

Thanks for the candy, I added it to my sidebar.

  168. Congrats on 300,000 hits, WOW... You are awesome.
My favorite books are anything by Nora Roberts. She is an easy read and also keeps you wondering what's going to happen next.

  169. Now that questions had me stumped, because I love to read anything. But I remember the book I got for my daughter when she was little called "I love you forever" and it brought tears to my eyes the first time I read it. It puts the sentiments of motherhood perfectly into a short little children's book and all the things the little boy did, I could remember my son's doing when they were little. (Throwing things in the toilet, having loud friends over, etc) and you actually miss that when they are grown. At the end of the little book the son comes back and takes care of his elderly mom.
    I know... I am a sap.
Thanks for the great blog candy.

  170. Wow! Suzanne, Congratulations on your phenomenal success! I am a fairly new reader, and total convert to your blog. Thank you for all of your wonderful ideas. This is lovely blog candy, too!
It's taken me half an hour to read everyone's favorite books! I am fascinated by the ones that appear over and over...I love to read, and it's hard, but I chose "Tathea" by Anne Perry...a captivating story about the meaning of life, and a lot of insight into how we can be better people.
    Happy crafting!

  171. First off... great blog candy. I am drooling already.

As for books, that is a really hard question, since I have read about a book a week, for the last 20 years. So instead of racking my brain thinking of the best of them all, I will pick the best for 2009. It was The Host by Stephenie Meyer (not related to the Twilight series). I highly recommend it.

    Thanks for the chance!!!!!!
I am going to tell my friends though facebook.

  172. Congrats on the 300,000 hits. Love your blog and read it dailey.
My favorite book is Gone With The Wind. It was the first adult book I read when I was 11 yrs old. It made an impression on me because it taught me you could go anywhere thru books. I've read thousands since.

  173. Congrats on the blog hits!
Favorite book as to be Winnie the Pooh...enjoyed it as a child and even more as I read it to my daughters!

  174. Thanks, Suzanne, for being so generous with your knowledge and goodies. My favorite book is Jane Eyre because it's just deep enough to be interesting, but not too deep to be enjoyable. Hope that makes sense!

  175. Wow! What an amazing accomplishment: 300,000 hits! Congratulations. I read your blog every time it's published. I love getting it delivered to my email and you're always an inspiration. I'm drooling over your blog candy. Someone will be one lucky stamper!
Since I work in a university registrar's office and work with numbers constantly all day long, when I come home I don't read anything that's too heavy. My absolute favorite book (series) is Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series: One for the Money, Two for the Dough, etc. I think she just released #15 in June. Very humorous and easy reads. Just what I need after a long day at work. I highly recommend them for a light read! Thanks for the chance to win your amazing blog candy!

  176. Hello Suzanne,
Congrat's on your amazing amount of hits on your blog! You do make it very interesting though!
My favorite book is by the author Leo Buscaglia called Living, Loveing Learning. He is a wonderful writer.

  183. Hi Suzanne,

Congrats on your 300K hits- - you are one deserving person! Your blog candy is fab. Your projects for today are beautiful, as always, you have one lucky neighbour!

It sounds like your son had a 1st day of new school like my daughter, My eldest was fine going back to school to Year 9(I believe it's Grade 8 in USA) but my little one was a bundle on nerves at the thought of moving up to the big school and starting year 7 (Grade 6) she couldn't sleep the night before and when she got to school she too had locker issues and had to share her sisters locker for the day - not good at all.

My fav book of all time has to be Tolkiens Lord of the Rings - I'm a huge fantasy book reader. When it comes to more recent books I tend to read the same as the girls as they too like fantasy, magic & Myth. I loved all the Harry Potter ones, my eldest has me reading the Twilight series and because of her love of vampires I bought the House of Night series by PC & Kristin Cast - wow I read the first book in the series in 5 hours (approx 400 pages) they are great but at the same time different from twilight.

I look forward to seeing what you have for us over the next 300K

    Crafty hugs Donna xx(email

  184. Congratulation and best of wishes for continued success. I have followed your work thru the Magnolia-licious group, but don't always leave comments. Love your copic tutorials (I want to color just like you when I grow up :-))
One of my favorite authors is Clive Cussler especially books where the main character is Dirk Pitt (marine engineer, government agent, and adventurer). There is always alternative history perspectives that keeps you on the edge of your chair, or bed (depends on where you are reading).

  185. Hi Suzanne,

I love your blog and like that you include bits about your family. I would have to say that my favourite books of all time were the first ones that I learned to read from and read everyone by this author I could lay my hands on. Carolyn Haywood. Now we are talking 42 years ago. But, ever since I learned to read I have been a constant reader. I love to read.

Have a good one, loved the pictures of your kids going to school. Mine are now 20 and 24 so I dont deal with school anymore.

  186. My favorite book is by Jennifer Crusie called "Welcome To Temptation." I also love her book called "Bet Me." Both books are about great women who get hot men! They are hilarious and easy reads. I highly recommend Jennifer Crusie.

  187. When my oldest son was 6 years old (he is now 23), he wrote and illustrated a book about the Civil War for a Young Author's Conference. I was so proud of him ( and still am)!!!

  188. Congrats on your 300,000 hits! I love your blog and your tutorials are awesome! So easy to follow.
My favourite book would have to be "Between Sisters" by Kristin Hannah. I had a sister who meant the world to me but unfortunately I lost her to cancer. This book made me remember how much I loved her. We had wonderful times and sad times just like it's supposed to be between sisters. She was taken from this earth too soon and I miss her very much.
    Here's to your next 300,000!!

  189. Hi Suzanne,
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I think my favorite book is "Gone Withe the Wind". I must have read it 2 or 3 times when I was a kid. I kept checking it out of the library and returning it and checking it out again. Such a romantic story. I loved the movie too, but it left out a lot of things, like a couple of Miss Scarlett's children. I think it is a timeless story and is still relevant today. Everyone should read this classic.

  190. Hi,
what great blog candy but would love to win, but fun to look at everything either way.
My favorite book of all time changes over time, but right now I think it would be "Water for Elephants" by Sarah Gruen (sp?- too lazy to look it up). It is just such a great story of time past, how times change and how we long for that as life changes.

  191. I forgot to leave my email address:

  192. Congrat!!!!!I read twlight I love the book One more to go My friend tryed to tell me the ending I was so mad >She got with a wolf I heard she gets back with her real love and has a baby Ill have to tell you after I read it too cool cant wait I have to go by the next book .Sarahk

  193. well I never win, but I do love your blog so I thought it was worth a comment (if my browser lets me, usually it doesn't) ;0 My favorite book? Hmmm, that is a TOUGH one! But if I have to choose, I would say "This Present Darkness" by Frank Peretti. Anything by Frank Peretti, actually! Fun stories with a good message.

  194. My favorite book is whatever I am reading at the time. LOL. Seriously I loved the Twilight Series.

Congratulations on all those hits. Way to go and thanks for the opportunity to win such a wonderful blog candy.

  195. The classice Gone With The Wind, why, I feel it as a part of my Southern History, since it supposed took place not far from where I live....Congrats n hits, you deserve them...Awesome blog with tutorials that one can understand...........Thanks for all you do and a chance to win some goodies...Susie

  196. debbie at debbiebrazzle@ilcp.orgSeptember 10, 2009 at 12:00 AM

Love the tea towel and card. I love to read, so the question is soooo hard. I'll say one of my favorites would have to be The Once and Future King. It caused me to fall in love with the King Arthur legend.

  197. Congratulations on all those hits! I can only dream.
My favourite book af all time? Thats a hard one, I LOVE reading, so there are many! If I had to choose only one it would be 'A moment in the Wind' by Andre P. Brink. I read it the first time as a student and have read it many times since, I think it is because Andre Brink is just such a master. The story takes place in the desert and at one stage he describes it so well that you have no option but to stop reading and find something to drink.

  198. Congratulations on your accomplishment! That is pretty amazing. I love your blog and your tutorials. I think I have watched them all. Keep up the great work. You are an inspiration. I'm not sure I can pick just one favorite book. I love to read! The Time Traveler's Wife, The Secret Life of Bees, Firefly Lane, The Lovely Bones, Harry Potter, and the list goes on and on. My favorite book for "tweens" is The Giver. It is such a powerful story. A must read! Thanks for the the chance to win such awesome blog candy!

  199. CONGRATS – CONGRATS – CONGRATS on hitting 300,000!! Can ya tell we love your blog!!!!

What a hard thing you gave us to do – my favorite book probably is the one I’m reading at the moment or what phase I’m at in life. I love books!! I scanned down the list of what others enjoy and have said “yes – yes – yes that is my favorite” only to change my mind when I read the next listing. Anything by any of these authors will catch my attention: Peter Abrahams, Sandra Brown, Stephen Coonts, Patricia Cornwell, Diane Mott Davidson, Leslie Glass, John Grisham, Tony Hillerman, Lisa Jackson, Dean Koontz, Phillip Margolin, Richard North Patterson, Frank Peretti, Nora Roberts, Lawrence Sanders, John Saul, Lisa Scottoline, etc etc etc…..but of course this just scratches the surface. It's a wonder there's time for stamping -giggle

Thx for the opportunity to win such great blog candy - you're the best -
    Elaine Moore

I appreciate all your lovely comments and taking the time to stop by! hugz,Suzanne
