Cupid Brings Blog Candy!!

Good morning everyone and Happy Wednesday! Is it snowing wherever you are? My kids are dyin' for some snow, but we've had nothing but rain & sleet and cold winds. I'd like ONE good snow for them and then I want spring to come, lol. I'm flying out to CHA in CA next week and I'm praying that the weather is not stormy when I leave. I HATE TO FLY--I am already having my nightmares about crashing and getting veryyyyy nervous! My poor friend Marti, she didn't know what she signed up for when she got her plane ticket with me :o) But I am excited about meeting up with alot of my bloggin' friends and seeing all the new goodies coming out! Speaking of goodies, I have Valentine's BLOG CANDY TO GIVEAWAY today!!

Make sure and scroll all the way down to the bottom to enter for the VALENTINE's BLOG CANDY!!

Today is Whatchadoin' Wednesday over at the Storage Units, Ink & More blog---today is challenge #23 and you have to make a holder/package for a Valentine's Day treat! If you want to join in the fun, upload your cards to SCS using the keyword "suinkwwc23" so we can all see! Make sure and stop by the SUINK blog to see the other DT gal's fun projects!

I used the cute lil' Cupid stamp from the "Will You Be My Valentine" set for both my card and treat holder. I also made my own patterned paper by taking the three sweettart hearts from the set and placing them on my acrylic block all together and stamping randomly onto my pink cs--super fun & easy! I used my Fiskars threading water punch to create the trims and added some stickles to Cupid of course :o)

These tubes are so fun to use and decorate. I filled mine with those new YUMMO strawberry milkshake Whoppers--lovee them! I just wrapped more of my cs around the tube and added some ribbon and another Cupid! These are quick & easy to put together if you want to make multiples of them! If you're interested in buying some of these fun tubes (mine I've had a while, but the new ones have cool twist tops), Susana's Store has them in stock right HERE.

***BLOG CANDY*** Denise, the wonderful owner of SUINK has allowed each of the DT gals to giveaway one of the new Valentine sets called "Will You Be My Valentine" which I used on my projects today(yours of course will be brand spankin' new, lol)! You can enter ONLY ON THIS POST UNTIL FRIDAY (1/16) AT MIDNIGHT--1 entery per person!!! Just answer this question when you post, "What was your favorite Valentine's Day Gift ever?" and I will pick a winner by random.org and announce that lucky person on Saturday's blog!! Good Luck!!

hugz,
Suzanne

  8. My favourite valentine gift are always flowers - hubby is allergic to pollen, so that's quite a sacrifice.
We have snow - I put a couple of pics on my blog. About 15cm of the stuff. Couldn't go to the city for my app with the oculist ...

  22. My favorite valentines day gift ever was when my daughters who at the time were 3 (twins) and 2 made me a card of their hands with a heart in the middle and in the heart was a picture of them. That reminded me of just how much their little lives rested in my hands and how important being a good example to them was.

  25. Love your treat holder! Very cute! My favorite gift was from last year. I had just started a new job (which was horrible) and I was in a bit of a funk. Hubby and I decided not to do anything for Valentines Day because we didn't have the money. But when I came home from work there was a gorgeous flower bouquet waiting for me. My hubby and my son (he was almost 2 then) went and each picked out half of the flowers in it. (All of my sons flowers were yellow, lol) It was so sweet.

  40. this was perhaps not my favorite but a memorable one. When I was in elementary school a teacher bought all of us a red piggy bank. We came back from recess and they were on our desk. When I got older I found out the teacher was married and was never able to have children and had lost her husband. The bank probably meant more after it was long gone than it did when I was young, only because I knew more about her later.

My favorite Valentine gift (and my only Valentine gift ever) is the heart necklace my DH gave me about 8 years ago. He put it in my purse and then called me a couple times at work. Since I didn't say anything about the necklace when he called, he finally had to tell me to look in my purse. I was very surprised because we have never given each other presents for Valentine's Day.

  82. Suzanne I love that little pink paper with the hearts so sweet! Great card and gift too.
Well I hope that the answer doesn't reflect who wins as we are not Valentine gift givers but my favorite thing about valentines as a young child was making those boxes to put all your V's in and then reading all the ones you would get- especially if they were from the boys to try and read into the message they chose for me! LOL!

We usually don't do a whole lot on Valentine's Day other than cards and chocolate, but the Valentine's Day before we got married, DH surprised me with a beautiful necklace with 2 interlocking gold hearts. He knew I had been looking for something special to use as a charm on my garter, and thought that I could take the hearts off the chain to use. I thought it was so sweet of him! To this day, it is one of my favorite necklaces, and gets worn constantly (I actually have it on as I type.).
