Butterfly Flowers!!

Happy Labor Day everyone or Happy Monday for those residing outside the US!!  It is a rainy and dreary day here in Virginia and we are supposed to have 8 DAYS OF RAIN—UGH!  Suzanne will be pulling her happy light out this week to sit under cuz’ that much dreariness will make Suzanne a NOT-HAPPY girl. ;) In fact hubby already pulled it out of the closet in preparation, LOL!  We had a great weekend though at my parents house eating homemade yumminess and just hanging out.  Last night me, Alexa and my mom went to see Blake Shelton & Chris Young in concert and it was FANTASTIC!  I really enjoyed it and Blake is even cuter in person <wink>!!  What I did NOT enjoy were the drunks that were hanging out in the aisles and falling, touching, pushing on me—YUCK!  Now if you know me, you know I lack a bit of a filter and if you RILE ME I will let loose—doesn’t happen often but when it does I will BLOW!  And BLOW I DID last night, I will not let men walk over me just because I'm a girl!!  I told one guy if he touched me again I was going to “Kick his ARSE” and the other guy kept falling on me and I pushed him and told him where he could go (use your imagination for that one cuz I won’t repeat lol).  Luckily a police officer was coming up and I made eye contact to tell him if he didn’t hurry I was going to punch someone so he came up and cleared them out.  Come On—we are all there to see a show, I did not pay to see DRUNKS acting stupid.  And why on earth do people come to concerts and drink 15 beers? I don’t understand it I guess cuz’ I don’t drink much myself but I do know that I DO NOT NEED AN alcoholic drink to enjoy a concert, a party or anything else.  Moderation people cuz when most of ‘em get drunk they are NOT funny, or cute – just obnoxious, sloppy & stinky!  UGH—that’s my rant for the day LOL!   And yes hubby just sighed and said he might've punched you or you could've gotten hurt but he knows it doesn't matter---I NEVER put up with bad behavior from anyone KWIM!!  But I will say the singing and the artists were fantastic and I would definitely see both of them again--awesome concert!!

Some pics for ya--my dumb camera battery DIED--ugh!!

Chris Young--he's a cutie too and awesome singer!

Yep that's MY Blake above--hotness!! LOL!

Butterfly Flowers!!

This card I did for the NEW Book we are reading in my cyber bookclub BookEndz –if you like to read and/or craft we’d love to see you over there!  The new book we are reading is called “Language of Flowers” by Vanessa Diffenbaugh and it is about the Victorian language they associated with each flower along with a beautiful show intertwined. A must read for sure!  So my card incorporates both flowers and the theme of life, redemption and positivity!

I’m entering this into the following challenges:

Make it Monday (anything goes)
Crafty Boot Challenges (anything goes)
Marianne Designs Divas (anything goes/their dies)
(do something u usually don’t—gasp no Copics for me lol)

P1110942_edited-1

I used just two colors of cream cardstock from PTI and added some pop with the teal.  The sentiment is from Verve and says “What the caterpillar calls the end of the world, the Master calls a butterfly”—isn’t that beautiful!?  I embossed the sentiment in gold and then added gold Stickles to the small butterfly and large butterfly die cut.  The butterfly is a die cut from Marianne Designs—she has a few and they are just beautiful! I added some layered Primas in the center of the butterfly.  The center border is a MS Jumbo punch that I cut in half to make it wider and added ribbon strip down the center.  The sentiment was cut out with a SB’s Label Nest “Labels 16” and then I traced the inside of the die onto the cardstock with a Sharpie Gold Leaf pen—I also used it to trace the outside of the darker cream cardstock layer that was embossed.  A few Bella Baubles finish it all off---that embossing folder is Craft Concepts “Spring Flowers”.

Hope is Faith Blog Hop!!

Happy Sunday Evening everyone!  We're slowly digging out from under our 34 inches of snow here in VA and I'm sick of it already I tell ya!  Thank god for good friends with large snow blowing machines---it helped tremendously!  And of course we're having a Super Bowl party here with friends and we're all rooting for the Saints! GEAUX SAINTS!!!

Anywho, tonight is a very special Blog Hop for Gina K Designs featuring a beautiful stamp set created by Gina K herself!  The Hope is Faith mini stamp set retails for $9.95. It was created to raise money for the Red Cross to help with the devastation in Haiti. $2.00 of every purchase of this stamp set will be sent directly to the Red Cross throughout the month of February.

As the first responders to disasters around the world, the Red Cross is there to help with the basic needs of these people who have suffered so much. By purchasing this mini set, you will help to make a difference to people who are desperate by supporting an organization that works tirelessly to feed, clothe, comfort and care for those in need.

Hope is Faith

I love the butterfly and sentiment in this set--they're so elegant and beautiful!  I paired them up with this beautiful paper from DCWV "Mariposa" and some layered Prima flowers.
I kept everything a little bit askew as if a gentle breeze was blowing around scattering papers lightly!  Isn't this paper perfect for this set--I just love it!

For the butterfly image, I stamped it out onto Gina's Luxury cs (120 lb weight), colored it with copics and then added Black Spica pen to the black parts of the butterfly for sparkle.  I then cut it out and added 2 thick layers of diamond glaze on top which makes it sturdy and easy to bend--isn't the sparkle pretty under the diamond glaze?!!  I think the butterfly looks so realistic--really beautiful!
Now make sure and hop around to see all the fabulous designs by these lovely artists!

Butterfly, Fly, Fly Away!!

Hi everyone & Happy Monday! I am here outside of Buffalo, NY visiting my relatives & relaxing a bit for a week with my mom, son, grandma & cousins! I can't believe how cool the weather is up here in the middle of July--mid 60's & 70's! I think I prefer the 80's at home cuz' ya know how I like it warm! I brought my Jillian exercise videos with me since my grandma makes the best pies & biscuits you've ever had & I don't need my butt to grow, hee hee! Anyhow, I've got a few projects for you today!

NewsBitz:

**My guest designing post for All That Scraps is up today right HERE if you'd like to check it out!
**Don't forget to stop by and check out those awesome new Elisabeth Bell for SCACD stamps right HERE!

Both of my projects today feature the fabulous stamp set by Amy Rysavy for called "All That Scraps "Amy's Butterfly"! These butterfly images are simply gorgeous & so realistic--great sentiments too! The dp I used for this one is Cosmo Cricket's "Everafter"; fiskar's border punch for the elegant edge and black pearls in the corners.
I double stamped the butterfly and cut one out to pop up so it looks like its fluttering off the card. I painted shimmerz (angel wingz) on top & then applied Stickles in black for lots of sparkle!

Second card I used softer colors on to match the sentiment. The dp is from Basic Grey's "Lemonade" and then I embossed the black cs with a floral Cuttlebug folder. I stamped the sentiment and then boxed it in using my multiliner pen & a ruler--then added small black pearls to the corners. The entire card got spritzed with Shimmerz Spritz for a soft shimmer.

The butterflies were stamped & cut out then got a thick coat of diamond stickles. They were attached with glue dots in the center so they look fluttery! So pretty--I lovee how they turned out!

Alrighty, I'm outta here & off to Lake Erie for a bit today! I'll see you back here tomorrow!

hugz,
Suzanne

New Stuff, More Shopping...

Hello everyone! It's another beautiful spring day here in VA- & its Friday-yeahhhhh! I have the windows open and the fresh air is blowing in (and my dogs barks are blowing out!). I am looking forward to some time off this weekend--no plans, just wingin' it with the kids. They want to go see Nim's Island so we'll do that and maybe some shopping for summer clothes (because like always, nothing fits them from last year).

In case you're interested in doing some internet shopping head over to Stamping Bella --she is releasing some new stamps this weekend. And check out Melissa's blog at Pink Cat Studio & Paper Trey Ink's blog--both have teasers of new stamps & things on their blogs. PTI has new colors out April 15th and they are be-u-tiful--I will surely be ordering them! I'm always up for shopping, especially if I can do it at my desk w/ my jammies on!!
I have two more cards for you today. I actually made these last night, when I should have been in bed. I knew with my craft class today, I wouldn't have time to make something, so I stayed up to finish these just for you:). The first card is made with some new stamps I've had, and hadn't had the chance to ink up. The stamps are from Innovative Stamp Creations - they come on a sheet, quite a few, and you must cut them & mount them. They have alot of nature stamps & they are really quite beautiful. I cut the butterfly out and colored it w/ my Copics then applied 3 coats of Diamond Glaze to it so it was shiny & bendable. The rub-ons behind the butterfly are from Fancy Pants Designs. I stamped SU soft sky with the Baroque Motifs stamp set and then layered more SU cardstock on top. The sentiment is from SU too. I think its a really elegant & unique card--different from the cutesier (is that a word?) stuff I usually do.
The second card is made with another new stamp set (yes, I know I have alot of new stuff) from CC Designs called Cleaning Queenie (I got mine from All That Scraps ). We all have to clean and most of us (at least me) hate it! I made this card w/ a magnet on the back so someone could hang it on the fridge to remind the family of their thoughts on "cleaning". I paper pieced her shirt and rag with pp from Michaels and she's colored with my Copics. I gave her just a little bling (stickles) for earrings and hair band--we all gotta have some bling!! Hope you like it!
Hope ya have a great weekend and do lots of relaxing & crafting! Suzanne
Butterfly- Innovative Stamp Creations, SU solid paper, Michaels ribbon, Fancy Pants Designs rubons, SU baroque motifs & elegant greetings sentiment, diamond glaze
