Citified & Countrified!

Well a Big Happy Friday to y'all!  Hope you have a fabulous weekend planned!  I am flying thru the air over the US probably while you are reading this (pray for safe flight, lol).  And I am probably SLEEPIING since I had to get up at 3 to catch my 6 am flight to Phoenix, hee hee.  I have trained myself to fall asleep before the plane takes off---good deal huh?!  So I will sleep until we get to Denver and then I have a 1.5 layover (perfect for my sing-a-longs, yes read yesterday's post if you are lost, lol) and do some work and then continue on to Phoenix.  Yay for HOT WEATHER---whoooohoooo---you will hear me screaming "hallejuah" when I land I'm sure, I love the HEAT!  I'll see what kind of trouble I can get myself into on the plane and in the terminals---keep up with me on Facebook, I'm usually posting something regularly that amuses me when I travel :)  You never KNOW who you might meet, I have met the most interesting people and talked to them--its amazing!  Apple executives, real cowboys, motivational speakers, Redskins players, a famous artist's grandson (Guy Wiggins) and more.  Always a good time for me and I'm really looking forward to class tomorrow to meet new & old friends!  Then Sunday Tab is taking me for a gallavant around AZ, LOL, so I have no clue what we'll be up to!  Sure hope you have a great weekend too.  I will be home late Monday night and then I will post up something for ya on Tuesday/Wednesday-ish depending on my mojo and level of "house-mess" that was left for me while I was gone

NewsBitz:

Citified But Oh So Countrified!!

Since its the first of the month, that means its another Copic Creations Challenge!  This time we were asked to use some of our favorite Copic Colors and/or techniques!  Our fabulous sponsor this time is Crafty Secrets and if you've never seen or used their fabulous stamps---well NOW you need too!  They are fabulous, all acrylic and you get such a great variety on each sheet.  I just love them!  For my technique I decided to use all SEPIA TONES for a Monochromatic Card which is one of my fave coloring techniques.  The set that they so graciously gave me to use (lovvvvvvvvvvvvvve it) is "Down on the Farm"---I have a "cow" fetish and "rooster" fetish too (hee hee).  I just love 'em and my final home in this big ole' world will definitely be in the COUNTRY!  I may be citified but I'm still a country gal at heart <3!

And but of course I HAD to use the awesome COW image from this set "Down on the Farm"--love it!  My papers are a mix of My Mind's Eye "Lush" that I distressed with my Zutter Distress Tool and then inked the edges with my Inkssentials Blending tool.  If you like distress/vintage looks then those two tools are a MUST have (I kid you not, cuz' I don't kid, right? LOL).  I embossed the sentiment "Country" in black EP and wrapped the card with this fun black/brown gingham ribbon I've had in my stash for a bit.  I topped the triple bow with a button and twine for a vintage feel.  And yeppers I had to add some more of my fave Marianne Designs dies to the mix---I liked the "wheat" feel they added (and yes MY wheat DOES have stickles for bling---hey it's blinged out wheat, bwwahahhaha)!

This image was colored with Copics for a Sepia Effect:  E47,E44,E43,E42,E41,E40.  Then I added some Diamond Glaze to my cow for shine and a few stickles to the leaves in the trees.

Hope y'all enjoyed this post and just cuz' you were sweet and read to the end, I have a fun COUNTRIFIED VIDEO to share with you from my fave band--the Zac Brown Band singing "Chicken Fried" HERE!  This song just makes me SMILE :)  Have a great weekend and make sure to stop by the Copic Creations Challenge Blog to see the DT projects and to join in on the fun with us!
