Happy Friday and Happy 1st of October everyone! As you read this I should be making my way to Delaware to teach classes this weekend--its only a 3 hour drive this time so not too bad! I'm excited to meet my friend Anary finally (waving hi) and to meet up with Cindy Echtinaw (owner of Bildmalarna US and Stamping Scrapping Store) again! I'm actually happy to get out of the house for a bit because we have MAJOR teenage girl drama going on right now that is ugly, difficult and highly stressful! I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy I tell ya---ughhhhh! But I hope you have a wonderful weekend and I hope its not raining anymore wherever you are! I might be floating up to Delaware in my personal ark if it doesn't stop raining--blech--I need some sunshine! So stay safe, be happy and have some fun!
-Want to check out my upcoming locations for my CMC On the Road classes--go to www.cmcroad.com! I have some new locations to add to it later this weekend!
-Make sure to check out the NEW Elisabeth Bell & Victoria Case releases for SCACD HERE! They are super cute! And check out my BLOG CANDY in the post from yesterday--just scroll down!
Since today is the first of the new month that means it's time for a new Copic Creations Challenge! Our lovely sponsor is Tiddly Inks (the talented artist Christy Croll)!! The challenge is to use favorite tones of orange in different ways not just on pumpkins, hee hee! And I adore all the Tiddly Inks digi images--the one I'm using today is "School Girl"! I decided to make a fun reader card---this would be great for a birthday girl and add a gift certificate to a book store or Amazon if they're a Kindle reader like meeeee!
My fun papers are from Bo Bunny's "Learning Curve" Collection --the background paper is of worn pencils and books and I LOVE the primary colors. I added some fun accessories to match the colors--the paper clips and buttons I had in my stash. That FUN Bingo card is from my friend Jenni Bowlin's Collection HERE---I love all her vintage and beautiful papers and accessories! The black paper I punched with my spiral notebook punch by SU and distressed the edges a bit more.
Of course this "School Girl" is colored with Copics and the oranges I used are some of my faves YR18,YR12,YR01 & YR000. I colored her hair with E35,E31,E51 and made sure to color it so the waves popped! I added some Stickles to a few of the books and hair bow for some fun bling!
Now make sure to hop over to the Copic Creations Challenge Blog to join in on the fun and to see the other DT gals beeee-utiful projects with these fun images! I'll have a new post up on Sunday as I'm a lucky guest artist for Whimsy Stamps new release!!
Amazing project and colored so expertly.
ReplyDeleteI feel your pain regarding the teen drama...been there, done that, and have lived to tell the tale...you will too, even if you think you can't take another day of it...lol
Safe travels and I'm wishing I was close enough to attend...it sounds amazing.

This is so adoreable. Love the image and your coloring is superb! I feel your pain, I have been there and lived to tell the tale. There will come a time when you will be able to laugh about all of this...but it does take time. (Just about the time when the teen turn adult and realizes you are not the "WORST" on the planet!)lol. blessings
ReplyDeleteSuper cute card! Am loving these orange challenge cards :o)
ReplyDeleteHugs~
Beautiful card! Hang in there with the drama queen! 9th grade is one of the toughest years to get through. I remember it all too well with my daughter. They want their independence, they want to date, they want to party with friends...stay firm in your beliefs and rules and you'll make it thorough it!
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute card!! I know what you mean about teenage drama, I have a 15yr old. Funny when you think about having kids, you dream of a sweet little baby. You never think about the tumultuous teenage years!
ReplyDeletehugs,
Shell
Love what you've done with her....great idea for a birthday card!! Awesome coloring!
ReplyDeleteIt started when my daughter turned 10...there were days when I could understand why some creatures ate their young! I called her my "tough love" child. She became human when she turned 19...I survived and she is now 27 and just presented me with a grandson.
ReplyDeleteIt will pass and just remember...don't sweat the small battles...save your strength for the large ones.
Great card!
Cathy
Suzanne, I just saw your card over at Copic Creations and wanted to pop over to tell you that I think it's just beautiful. I just coloured this one up myself, but now I can't wait to colour her again!!! Oh, and I love your YouTube videos as well :D
ReplyDeleteDarling card Suzanne!
ReplyDeleteOMGosh.........what a gorgeous card (do I sound like a broken record? LOL). But seriously......I love it......& I'm not a primary color or orange lover but this is just beautiful. I love her curly hair too. Of course....you colored her perfectly.
ReplyDeleteSorry for the teenage drama! Been there.....done that.......3 times! UGH I'm feelin' for ya & will say a prayer or two that you both survive this & I'm sure you will. My daughter & I are now best friends but it took us a long time to get here (she's almost 43 so there is hope....LOL).
And sorry for all your rainy days too. I know how much you love the warmth & sunshine. Praying for sunny days for you!
Huggies ~
Sharron♥
Suzanne, she is colored so very pretty!! I love your colors and papers!

Suzanne, I just love the image you chose, as well as your beautiful coloring. The whole card is just colorful and fun. I happen to be a Kindle reader, so I love the idea. Have fun in NY!
ReplyDeleteI just watched the video on folds in Class #2, and this card is perfect for that from her head to her skirt!! Love it....
ReplyDeleteAnd, I too am a Kindle lover; although, disappointed that book prices have escalated a lot over the last year to almost the same as a hardback book...and we're saving trees by using an e-reader! However I still love the ease of my Kindle.
Now for the most serious....best of luck with your daughter issues. I think the parents of today have it even harder with the technology advancements we have and other issues of today that we didn't have 20 years ago. I was very lucky with all of mine, no problems per se. Now it seems kids are influenced by so much more, and it just gets harder to keep that parental control and guidance over them. Best of luck with Alexa, I hope it all works out for you all.....
The deep contrast of colors is great, from her head to her toes. LOL!!!
