Who's gettin' Shabby??

Hello Everyone & Happy Tuesday to ya!  I have a major on-going migraine that doesn't want to go away so I apologize if some of this post doesn't make sense, LOL!  I have to tell you a quick funny story about one of our cats Tinkerbell (my daughter's cat).  She is a black & white princess that likes to terrorize the other cats when she gets in her crazed mode in the evening--she also likes to bring us treasures whenever she can.  Since my cats stay indoors that means no hunting outside so she has hunted other things for us that just crack me up.  In one week's time she has brought us (in her loud "meowing" voice that doesn't stop until you congratulate her) a battery, one of my earrings, a phone jack, 5 hairbands, a crayon and best of all a lovely dead stinkbug!!  This is her weekly haul, LOL--she's such a lil' weirdy I tell ya and just cracks me up.  She also likes to lay in my craft room chair behind me--problem is when I get up to do something and want to sit down again, she likes to bite my butt to tell me "NO" I can't sit!  Such a little diva I tell ya---thought that might give you a giggle on this Tuesday!

NewsBitz:

-I will have a picture tutorial (pdf) file of how I made my Explosion Box (see here) for you by Friday!
-I will also have 2 new Copic Tutorials up this week--1 will be on how to use your Copics to color so they look like Distress Inks and one will be on Feather Blending & Flicking Techniques!

Vintage Roses are Pink!!

This card was so much fun to make and I kept everything very vintage & shabby chic!  I use my Tonic Distress Tool to rough up all my papers (can't wait for that new Zutter Distress Electric machine) and inked them with Distress Inkpads.  The pale pink pp is from PTI and the cs is from SU.  This lovely Magnolia stamp "Tilda with Vintage Roses" is from the Christmas Collection but I think she's perfect for anytime of the year!  You can find alot these cuties at the Magnolia-licious store HERE--you won't be able to pick just one!  I stacked bunches of Prima flowers and roses along with some fern punch-outs and some of my favorite Prima pearl flourishes!  And no card would be complete without some pretty sparkles--so I threw in a couple of stickles here & there :o)  (Copics Used: R21,R20,R11,R00/E13,E11,E00/G97,G95,G93,G20)  This card is entered in the Just Magnolia Challenge Blog as well--go HERE to join in!

Don't forget to stop by the Magnolia-licious Highlites Blog to see the NEW February Sketch Challenge Project!

Try It Out Tuesday #53

Since today is Tuesday that means it's another Try It Out Tuesday for Susana's Custom Art & Card Design (SCACD)!  This week I challenged the DT with a fun sketch that I had created last month for myself (see that project HERE) and this time I used a fabulous NEW Lockhart Stamp called "Love Angel".  My papers are all from PTI and the sentiment "Love is in the Air" is also from a set of theirs called "Tiny Valentines".  I used lots of stickles for sparkles, my oval nesties to cut my image out & Copics to color her (R85,R83,R81).  The cream was embossed with one of my NEW Asian Cuttlebug Folders (cherry blossom--luv it) and I distressed some of the papers.  Some swirls from my punch and a bow made with my Bow Easy finish it off!  Now make sure and hop over to the store blog "Follow Your Heart" to see all the DT's lovely creations and have a go at my sketch as well!

I'll see ya back here tomorrow!

  6. Oh, Suzanne! So so pretty. I love that shabby chic look and you certainly made it look gorgeous. Do your pearls come already shaped or did you just lay them down in the flourish pattern? Your second card is just as sweet as can be. Love that bow easy, can't live without it...hugs...Barb

  10. Suzanne both of these are so soft and perfect for that very fem friend, relative, love them. The cat stories, well all I can say is if you don't have a cat, then you cannot tell the stories and they are sometimes too numerous to mention but always entertaining. Thanks for yours. Sandi

  30. Suzanne, I can't find a comment section under the post about your hunting kitty or your migraine, but I hope she gives you some peace while you deal with the migraine. They are murder. When you feel better, may I ask which Prima flowers you used on the gorgeous pink and white card? Thanks so much! Try some Healing Garden Lavender Stress beads. They helped me when I had migraines. Feel better.
