Happy February 1st everyone--hope you had a great weekend! My kids have off of school today so they're happy kiddos--me, not so much, LOL--they'll be bugging me all day. Not to mention that it snowed about 6 inches on Saturday and more to come, YUCK--I am SO over winter I tell ya! Wish I was a bear so I could go hibernate until spring, hee hee! Yesterday we went to see the Washington Capitals play today--they won & they're on a roll, so I hope it continues (ice hockey for those not in the know, lol)! I love hockey games almost as much as football, so I'm happy to get a chance to go--hubby gets tix all the time but it never works out that I can go. So a busy day for us yesterday, but since we stayed indoors on Saturday & had a jammie day it's a-ok. I'm just happy that hubby is home now cuz' ya know he is my bestest friend in the whole world even if he does test my nerves sometimes, LOL :o)
Had to share a picture I took yesterday of the Washington, DC monument--the sun had just set & the sky was so pretty behind the monument--can you believe I got this pic with my IPhone!? Just wanted to share it with you all :o)

Copic Creations Challenge
It's February 1st already--egads--January just flew by! That means it's another
Copic Creations Challenge and this week our sponsor is
Susana's Custom Art & Card Design. The challenge is to do "feathering" with your copics--it's a really fun technique & not hard to do at all! You just pick 2 colors that are very different in tone/color and make them meet in the middle by feathering the lightest colors into each other. The Design Team was all sent the new
"Aurora Collection" of stamps by Victoria Case for SCACD and I chose to use "Aurora with Cake"--isn't she a cutie? If you participate in our challenge you can win a FULL SET of the Light Copics (0000's) and a sheet of the NEW Aurora Stamps!!
For her dress I used Copic Colors V17,V15,V12 and YR12,YR01,YR00 to match the yummy papers from
Basic Grey's "Sugar Rush". I layered
Prima flowers & roses and added a fun sheer butterfly (I got a ton of these small sheer embellies at the CHA Supershow so you'll be seeing lots of them, lol). The sentiment is from a newer PTI set called
"Tiny Treats:Valentine"--perfect huh?!!
I double stamped and colored the cake then popped one up with dimensionals for some extra fun!
I added a few Stickles to the image and then sprayed the entire card with
Smooch Spritz in Vanilla for a nice soft shimmer! This card would be perfect for any celebratory occasion!
Now hop on over to the
Copic Creations Challenge Blog HERE to see the rest of the DT's lovely creations and find out how you can join in on the fun as well!
See ya back here tomorrow!

What a beautiful card, Suzanne. The colors are gorgeous. I just finished Debbie Macomber's "Twenty Wishes." Good book! Haven't read the Cove series yet. Hugs,
ReplyDeleteWow - more snow, ugh! I am so jeally about the hockey game! I love hockey. I used to work for the company that wrote the Tampa Bay Lightening's insurance and we were constantly given free tickets to the games as well as the chance to win tickets in their suite! I used to go all of the time. Now, living in Jax, there is no team close-by! Enough about hockey...
ReplyDeleteThis card is amazing! I have never tried feathering, but love the look! I will definitely try it! Love how you used the DP. I bought that pack, but can't seem to figure out good matches.
How adorable. I love the colors. I don't have any Copisc - yet - but I am sure they will be here eventually. What a fun card!
