Butterfly Flowers!!
This card I did for the NEW Book we are reading in my cyber bookclub BookEndz –if you like to read and/or craft we’d love to see you over there! The new book we are reading is called “Language of Flowers” by Vanessa Diffenbaugh and it is about the Victorian language they associated with each flower along with a beautiful show intertwined. A must read for sure! So my card incorporates both flowers and the theme of life, redemption and positivity!
I’m entering this into the following challenges:
Craft Your Passion (flowers)
Make it Monday (anything goes)
Crafty Boot Challenges (anything goes)
Marianne Designs Divas (anything goes/their dies)
(do something u usually don’t—gasp no Copics for me lol)
I used just two colors of cream cardstock from PTI and added some pop with the teal. The sentiment is from Verve and says “What the caterpillar calls the end of the world, the Master calls a butterfly”—isn’t that beautiful!? I embossed the sentiment in gold and then added gold Stickles to the small butterfly and large butterfly die cut. The butterfly is a die cut from Marianne Designs—she has a few and they are just beautiful! I added some layered Primas in the center of the butterfly. The center border is a MS Jumbo punch that I cut in half to make it wider and added ribbon strip down the center. The sentiment was cut out with a SB’s Label Nest “Labels 16” and then I traced the inside of the die onto the cardstock with a Sharpie Gold Leaf pen—I also used it to trace the outside of the darker cream cardstock layer that was embossed. A few Bella Baubles finish it all off---that embossing folder is Craft Concepts “Spring Flowers”.
Well I hope you enjoyed the post today and I will see you back here this week with lots of new stuff including a RELEASE for SCACD (Sylvia Zet) and some videos---yep I got some new videos for ya!
What a beautiful card, i especially love the butterflies and the lovely sentiment! Thankyou for taking part in the very first craftyboots challenge! Amyx
ReplyDeleteI love your card the colours are just lovely. Thanks for joining us for our frist challenge over at Crafty Boots Faye x
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card. I'm with you about the concert. We went to a rodeo last month and the same thing happened. I finally told the guy I had no interest in hearing his swearing, and hearing what he was telling his buddies, that he wanted to do with everyone woman that walked past, nor did my 13 year old. He walked away humiliated and his friends apologized for his behavior. Why even bother to pay for tickets to an event when you're that drunk and won't even remember? Hope the rest of the concert was good for you.
ReplyDeleteThis is so beautiful, Suzanne! I saw your card at Make It Mondays and just have to see a bigger version of it! Wonderful work!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you got to see Blake Shelton concert, he is one of my favorites too!
ReplyDeleteI would have probably done the same thing, I hate being around ignorant drunks...sorry, just the plain truth! I'm glad the authorities stepped in or you might be teaching jailbird how to color and stamp, tee hee hee :O) I love your flower butterfly card. Oh i love those butterflies, so delicate and pretty!
Hugs! Leah Ann
LOVE both Chris Young and Blake Shelton - they both do a great job of entertaining!!

We will be seeing Sugarland in October - I'm such a country concert geek. LOL

ReplyDeleteBeautiful card Suzanne! And good for you for standing up for yourself. Personally after paying out good money for a concert ticket I wouldn't be spending any money on alcohol ... but I'm not a drinker either!
ReplyDeleteHi Suzanne!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card (like always :) ), love it.
That must have been awful, all these drunks falling on you and touching you, but i'm glad you could enjoy the concert.
love, Debbie Meijer
p.s.: in my country (Netherlands) we have had rain and cold weather since July(!) and just a few warm days. We don't even know what the sun looks like, LMBO!! And today we are expecting lots of rain (what's new) and lots of wind up to 8 bft. Pfff, i need sun, hahaha!
Embrace the rain! What we would give for 8 days of rain! The retired teacher in me has no tolerance for bad behavior either. Just yesterday I was in the mall and I had the urge to go over to some kids who were running and have them practice walking in the mall. I even caught me self giving them the hand signal! LOL http://visionsofpaper.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteSo soft and pretty. Such a lovely butterfly... the glitter looks so glam. And the ribbon and sentiment along with the flower are the sweetest.
