Trim the Tree!

Hello & a Happy Wednesday to you!  The winds are still blowing outside and it's STILL freezing here in VA, lol (sadly)!  Thankfully I don't have anywhere to go today, I'm just working on projects and waiting for the carpet cleaners to come.  Cuz you know they give you a 4 hour window and they'll show up the 4th hour, lol, but I have to have the cats all put in my bedroom before they get here which is a pain in the rear!  Sometimes I can just crack a can of cat food and they'll come running, but I SWEAR they know when I want to coop them up cuz they RESIST the food offerings, LMBO!  Little devils that they are!  Then we're off again this evening to see Riley's last band concert--he's playing the solo drum for Little Drummer Boy and I cannot wait to see him perform!

If you wanted to see my Christmas decorations and 11 trees, I put up a slideshow on yesterday's post below!  Yes, I've been called CRAZY but I do love Christmas and I have 2 adorable shots of my pups with their FAVE Santa hat on (ha ha-not)! Yes I do like to torture the animals by dressing them up!

My big girl "Casey"--she's so thrilled can't you tell!

Baylee--immobilized by the Santa hat, LOL! Look at those puppy eyes :)

-Charity Blog Candy ends on Dec. 17th (Friday)--we've raised over $1600 so far and I'm just thrilled for the Fisher House Charity!  You can read more about it HERE!

-Holiday Special on my Online Copic Classes until Jan.4th!  Check out the deals on at the Color Me Creative Classroom HERE!  Makes great gifts too ;)

Trim the Tree!!

Today is the 15th so that means it's another Copic Creations Challenge for you all!  This challenge is all about SPARKLE--perfect for the season & my favorite thing to add too!  Our fabulous sponsor this week is Just Rite Stamps and they so generously donated stamps to all of the DT for us to use!  I got to use the beautiful "Christmas Ornaments" from their Holiday 2010 Collection--and you know how I love my tree decorations, LOL!

My papers are from Pink Paislee's "Father Christmas" pack--I love the vintage colors and patterns, perfect with this image from Just Rite.  I matted the ornament with Spellbinder's Nesties (circles and Labels 3).  The scrolls are by Marianne Designs dies and then I covered them with a NEW Glitter product (shhhh I cannot tell you yet)--but it rocks!  The triple bow was done with my Bow Easy and then I added some faux pine boughs using another die by Marianne Designs.

Of course the image was colored with Copics (YG97,YG95,YG93/R29,R24,R22,R20/YR24,YR23,Y15,Y11).  To add sparkle I used a lot of things, lol!  On top of the gold I colored I added Gold Spica pen to it--that's a very subtle sparkle and hard to photograph but so pretty IRL.  I also traced the outside of the ornament with a Gold Spica pen to make it pop even more!  Then I added Diamond Glaze to the bottom and top sections of the ornament AND while wet I sprinkled Glamour Dust (15% off) in it--super shimmery!  The small beads/pearls on the ornaments were done with the NEW & IMPROVED Ranger Liquid Pearls in platinum--they now don't leave a point after you use them, a perfect pearl each time!  A sparkly and elegant holiday card!

Now make sure to hop on over to the Copic Creations Challenge Blog to see the rest of the DT's fabulous projects and join in the contest as well for a great prize for Just Rite Stamps!

  1. Hi Suzanne!
I love Casey and Baylee. They are so adorable. Hmmmm! I wonder if my rag doll cat Toby would like a hat!

I love your Card. The gold is always gorgeous. Love that gold ribbon and the swirls. Love the pine branches too. The design paper is very classy. I don't think you would have much problem making a Christmas card after seeing all your beautiful Christmas trees. TFS them.
    Have a lovely Christmas.
    Hugs Maz

  2. Hello Suzanne,
Lovely photo's from your little santadogs! Yesterday i have seen your slideshow from your christmas house, so beautiful!

I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year with your family and friends.

  4. Your card is just Beautiful!! And you did a excelent job coloring the Ornament too. The papers you used are perfect combo and thoes little tree branches ae perfect..Love it!

  5. Your card is just gorgeous! And I meant to comment on your trees yesterday - oh my goodness! Girl, you must start decorating in July! Beautiful! I don't even have that many rooms!!! lol.... Tell DS to hang in there with his percussion! Our DD was a percussionist, and ended up with a free ride to college, as well as marching two years in a professional drum corps (Phantom Regiment). We really miss the concerts, marching, etc.! Have a great day...

  6. Your card is absolutely vintage, I love it! The DP is awesome! I love the way you colored the ornament! Oh and you pup's are so cute... even though they want out of the Santa Hat... that look of "Please, didn't we do this last year, why must we do it every year?" LOL! Have a wonderful day at home! Happy Creating! Sara

  7. Wow! I hope some day to be half as good as your are. Everything you do is just amazing.

  8. Oh my goodness, Casey and Baylee remind me of my girls...although mine are cats. When I put the hat on Sophie, she gave the "murder eyes" look (I think Casey's gettin' there) and poor Athena just looked drunk or weighed down like Baylee. Cute, cute, cute!

  9. That are adorable puppy's!
    And another stunning card!

  10. Awwww -- The Pups look so sweet in their Santa hats and I'm sure the "love" it when Mommy wants to dress them for the Holidays!!! You are so cute!!

Love the Ornament card....stunning colors and love the dimension.

PS: I bought my sparkly fluff and it's now here! I told Susana you are my enabler! I bought five colors including white and that love blue! Pretty!

Did you shoot a Video on the new Sewing tool yet...I bought it but have not even opened the package.....sewing really scares me...I'm hoping it will be a breeze! :)

  11. Gorgeous card. Love the shimmer and shine.

  12. Beautiful card & love the puppies! LOL They just looked THRILLED to be wearing their cute little Santa hats! LOL
