Blog Hop Starts at 4 am EST!!
I cheated just a bit (please forgive me, hee hee)--we were supposed to create a birthday card and altered item and I got a little carried away!! I decided to create a Oriental Themed Birthday Celebration Party Pack!! I just adore the new little "Chinese Tilda" on my project (although she could be used for Japanese too in my humble opinion, lol) and I couldn't help but make some fun party projects. I LOVED doing themed parties for my kids when they were little and I always got carried away (big surprise, no?) and now that they are bigger I don't get that chance as much! Find all the NEW Bon Voyage Magnolia stamps at Magnolia-licious HERE (lots of kids from around the world that will melt your heart)!!
For my party celebration I created some fun Chinese Lanterns that I found online directions for HERE--very easy to make and alter the size of. The green lantern was embossed with my "cherry blossom" CB folder before putting together--both got strips of patterned paper around the top, matching handles and some flowers that I made with my Nellie Snellen paper punches (email if you're interested in these). These would be super cute with tea lights inside of them at every place setting--favors that your guest could take home. The scrolls on the lanterns and cards were done with my super fave Marianne Designs dies (see here for US & here for overseas).
The entire project's color scheme got started with some beautiful papers I have from Memory Box called "Gossamer"--I loved the soft colors and pattern paper that had the flowering tree on it. And this cute "Chinese Tilda" is just to-die-for fabulous! I was inspired by her parasol so I made a fan flower that replicates the shape using my Scor-Pal & tape (see a tutorial here) and added it to the bow made with my Bow Easy. Again the scrolls were made with the same die that I used above and then I added a button with a large pearl atop of the flower.
She's colored with Copics of course (R83,R81,RV10/YG03,YG00,YG0000, C's for hair). I also added some W3 & W1 to gray/shadow parts of the image. I added some stardust stickles to a few areas for bling and then some Viva Decor Pearl Pen (in Ice White) to the very tips of her parasol and the centers of the cherry blossoms on her dress/kimono.
You can't have a Birthday Party without invitations right? So I found a fabulous online tutorial (see here) that showed how to make these fun kimono shaped invites! (I have no idea if kimono is Chinese or Japanese so just go with the Oriental Over-all Theme, 'kay?)!! These are easy to make and mass produce making them perfect party invites. I made mine out of pink PTI cs first and then added my patterned paper, strips of green cs for trim and an obi sash (it's a belly band that slips off) to keep it closed. The pearls on the collar were done with the same Viva Decor Pearl Pen and then I inked all the edges with pink ink.
When you open the kimono by slipping off the decorated obi sash you see the party details inside. Obviously you can make them larger and more detailed than I have, but mine is just a fun example! The Obi Sash was decorated with a strip of ribbon tied off in a flat knot and then I added small scrolls from the same die I've been using from Marianne Designs.
And last but not least we have some YUMMERS to eat at the party! Mine is Edy's Vanilla Bean ice cream with pink sugar sprinkles in some beautiful antique gold-rimmed dessert cups I have (thanks Mom)! I used the same directions as above to create a larger fan flower---this time I used a border punch on the edge first and gathered it around a candy stick (I buy bags of them at Michaels) to make a fun Parasol Treat Stick. Doesn't that look so pretty and think how nice a bunch of these would look on a table for a party! Delish and Cute!
**Can't have a Birthday without PRESENTS right? Well, I've got some to share with you! Tell me what AGE your favorite birthday was by this Friday and you could win 2 NEW Bon Voyage Magnolia Stamps (your choice), Gossamer pack of Memory Box paper, a Viva Decor Pearl Pen and a pack of Pink Paislee Artisan Scrolls!!
Okay I'm sure I've taken up enough of your time here and you've got lots more hopping to do---so your NEXT STOP is ANGIE and I know she'll have something spectacular to share with you all! Happy Birthday to our sweet Diana as well!!

WOW Stunning Suzanne! I love everything you have made! My favourite birthday was my 29th! Quite an odd age to have a fave birthday for but I went out with my BFF Julie & we had the most craziest time at a club!!!! No night out has ever lived up to this one!!! x
ReplyDeleteVery nice party set! Love the kimono invites!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite birthday party was when I turned 22. I was my first birthday with my boyfriend whom I'm marrying in two weeks!
OMG, what a wonderful party set, the time and effort you put into making them is truly seen.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite B-day would have to be the year I turned 25, it was the first time that i didn't have to hint to my boyfriend what I wanted.
Your card and party accessories are gorgeous! I wasn't yet into stamping when my kids were small but I did craft related themed birthdays for them and I know what you mean about how fun it is! My favorite birthday was when I was twelve years old and my mom organized a scavenger hunt with all the neighbors for my party!
ReplyDeleteHow do you pack all this into 24hrs! Amazing. OK for favourite birthday it has to be 50th - Several people made it very special for me though I'd kept it rather quiet.

What wonderful b'day gifts. You are so talented. My fav b'day and the entire year was when I was 27. I had a great b'day (aren't they all fun!) along with a fabulous entire year!
ReplyDeleteWhat an adorable collection you have come up with love the pinks and greens....I would have to say my favorite bday was 21 it was a complete surprise..I walked into my best friends house just a complaining about something my mom had done to upset me and as I walked into the family room area about 50 jump and say surprise...OMG I was so shocked had the time of my life.
ReplyDeleteHugs
How creative this set of projects is ... and the colors .... WOW! You are truly the Master!
ReplyDeleteSo, my favorite birthday would be my most recent one (this past March). Why was it special? It means I am still alive and survived another year to celebrate!
LOVE the collection and all the beautiful work you did.... wow!
ReplyDeleteMy best BD was I guess when I was Sweet 16...
Utterly adorable set, and the color scheme is just so lovely. I just love all the detail you put into your projects.
ReplyDeleteMy best party was my surprise 50th, because it was my only party that I have ever had. I grew up in a 'Brady Bunch' family and money was always tight (but I don't recall ever going without anything important)so it was a real thrill when my children organised a surprise party for me.
hugs
Well, you certainly know how to throw a party!!! :D Your card and invite are sweet and love the lanterns and umbrella pick. The colours are so pretty and soft!
ReplyDeleteI think my favourite birthday age would have to be 28. The year before was difficult and it was a real turning point in my life. Many years ago but those changes have affected the rest of my life!
Thanks for sharing! :o)
When I first started, I thought that it was adorable. Then the goodies just kept coming. I love this set.
ReplyDeleteWow, Suzanne, what a fun party this would be! Everything is just gorgeous, as usual! My favorite bday would probably be my 21st. A special day for me.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful card and all the goodies as well. Suzanne you are so inspirational!
ReplyDeleteI have 2 favorite birthdays.
My 16th when my parents surprised me with a sweet 16. They must have saved for quite a while!
My 40th when my husband treated me like a princess for an entire week.
What a wonderful party set. I can imagine a whole table decorated with these lovely creations! Fantastic!
ReplyDeleteSuzanne, Gorgeous Birthday party pack! I love all the details on each project and those Chinese lanterns are great!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite birthday was my 16th. What's yours?
Suzanne, What fab colors and your ideas are great!!! Beautiful set..
ReplyDeletehugs, Janiel
That's a fabulous set. I love the colors & all the fun projects.
ReplyDeleteI had an awesome 25th birthday, but it seems so long ago :(
Love all of the cute items you made!!! Beautiful work!!!
ReplyDeleteI think my favorite birthday was when I turned 9. My mom had the local bakery made these really cool 2 toned blue and purple frosted cupcakes. When she brought them into school for the class everyone was so excited.
That was 26 years ago now but it seems not that long ago.
I just love your coloring Suzanne. These themed items are gorgeous!!!! Believe it or not my happiest birthday was my 50th. Only because my 3 daughters and husband pulled off a real surprise!
ReplyDeleteI didn't have a clue. And I am one of those that knows everything going on around me. But they pulled it off. With friends and family flying in from out of town. It was quite the surprise.
My favorite age for a birthday, this one is easy for me, I turned 13! My Dad and mom bought me my very first wrist watch! I was so excited and I loved it so much, only problem was I didn't know how to tell time!!! LOL! (Didn't have the heart to tell my parents) Of course like everything in my life they found out because that same day they took me to go watch a movie and I ran into one of my teachers from school! She asked how we were and my parents told her it was my birthday and mentioned the watch, and then it happened! She asked me what time it was!!! OMG, I remember looking at my watch and just staring at it and not being able to say anything! Too funny!!
ReplyDeleteOh, Suzanne, your project is perfect as always ! I also love the kimono invitation!! So cute!!Have a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteHugs
Regina
She is beautiful! I love the whole birthday kit. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI can just imagine the beautiful table your project would make. Very serene and welcoming. A chance to win magnolia stamps is always a special extra. TFS`
ReplyDeletethis is just over the top gorgeous. covers just about every aspect of the party. wow, best birthday ever i'm a january birthday and there's always snow on the ground so we didn't have outdoor run around parties. sometimes we had our own blizzard to deal with. so i guess my favorite was 50 when i had a huge party with friends from all my different circles. i had my softball , card making, card playing, tennis , volunteer, bowling and neighborhood friends. my husband figured it might be the only one he was going to do so go big. the funniest part about it was the my best beu was having the party at her house, the only thing other than paying for the stuff that my husband was in charge of was the cake. so the party is going on gang-busters we played the games had the entertainment and now it's time for the cake. well i see a little comotion in the kitchen and my friend comes out and asks about the candle. my husband gets a green look of horror on his face. but my friend. being quite resourceful say no problem. in they come with the cake, in two plates. the cake on one with a little kids 3 and an 8 and the second plate with 12 tealight candles and she smiles and says 38 plus 12 is 50 right? well, after getting my laughs at that now i can pick on my husband for awhile too. so that's it. plus when u get older the guests clean as they go and we were all finished and no too pooped early.
ReplyDeleteok, i just reread my post and it's my best bud not beu and other typos so just fill in the letters i forgot to type. i'm a senior, i can do that , right. :)
ReplyDeleteHow absolutely beautiful your birthday party is! So creative and gorgeous! I think my favorite birthday was when I turned 50. Our two children gave my husband and me a two night stay at our favorite motel (and the owners added a third night to the package!), plus there was a big beautiful bouquet of red roses waiting for me inside the room! It was all a huge surprise and was such a delight!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card with the pink and green. Love the swirl design with the pleated flower. The lanterns are adorable with the kimono invitation and the umbrella too! Very creative Suzanne, wonderful projects. Can't forget Tilda, she is gorgeous!!!
ReplyDeleteWow Suzanne, just beautiful!!! I guess I would have to say all my birthdays are my favorite. To have been blessed to still be alive! To be with the most loving, kindest husband of 34 years...and to have watched my children grow up to be wonderful adults and also enjoy the sweetest granddaughter! Hoping there will be may more favorite birthdays to come!!
ReplyDeleteI love Asian-themed artwork! The elements are so beautiful, and your colors are gorgeous! You can't go wrong using a Tilda stamp!
ReplyDeleteWho's the Westie on the chair? He/she is cute! I'm a retired dog groomer!
My favorite birthday was my 50th. I was "Reduated" from wearing a pink hat and lavender clothing, to wearing a red hat with purple clothing at my "REDUATION CELEBALONEY", with the Red Hat Society! Fun times!
Honestly Suzanne, how do you create so much when you are so darn active? Love the gorgeous birthday set that you made, totally adorable!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite birthday was 1 1/2 years ago when I turned 60, believe it or not. The plan was that "one" couple was going to be taking my husband and I out to dinner because I didn't want a BIG celebration. Well when we arrived at the restaurant we discovered that this friend invited all of our closest friends to the celebration and then to top it all off, my daughter, who lives on the West coast, called the restaurant and told them that our party could order appetizers on her, which was a total surprise to all of us. This was by far my best and most memorable birthday.
Amazing set, Suzanne (I expected no less!!) :) Beautiful card and your coloring of Tilda is perfection!!! Gorgeous papers and detailing, too. Love the lanterns and that ice cream cup looks soooo delicious!! That kimono invitation is PERFECT! I love it all!!!
ReplyDeletehugs!
Sharon
What a gorgeous set Suzanne! I just love the fan flowers and can't wait to try them myself. Love the chinese theme!
ReplyDeleteAngie
Wowzers Suzanne, this is just stunning! All the details are just gorgeous. I love it all! My favorite birthday was my 16th birthday. I saved up my pennies and got my first car! My mom had a party for me and made me and my friends play pin the tail on the donkey. She even had prizes =)
ReplyDeletehugs,
Shell
Wow! Very pretty indeed. Love the little chinese girl. I love oriental themed stuff.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful birthday theme projects. Love each of them. My very first birthday party and only birthday party was when I was 10. It was great and I still remember how excited I was having my friends over and of course opening all the presents. That was over 50 years ago!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely Stunning! I am in LOVE with all your projects and can see you have been working very hard.
ReplyDeleteI love the colors and how you put everything together 'perfectly' including the yummy dish of ice cream with the pink sprinkles.
My birthday is also this week -- I wonder if Diana and I have the same birthday. If so, then she also shares it with my HUBBY too...as we both have the same Birthday! Not the same year, he is three years older, but the exact same day! Pretty cool!!
My favorite birthday I think was when I turned 18! (Several years ago)...I think I felt that I was then an adult and independent..oh and back then, the legal drinking age wss 18, so we all went out to the local clubs for a nice of drinks and dancing...Fun FUN FUN!!
Happy Birthday to Diana...I hope you have a wonderful day!!
Suzanne, you have really out done yourself here! Love that you put alot of thought into this celebration! Everything is just lovely. Thanks for the tutorials and inspiration.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite birthday is all them! But most rememberable would be the 21st birthday!
Suzanne, Fun, Fun, Fun....love this birthday party pak!! The colors are super cool and the invite is very cute. I love the umbrella in the ice cream. I guess my favorite birthday was 21...my family made it an extra special day. Thanks for the chance to win. Hugs, Teresa E.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite birthday age was 16 because I could finally drive by myself. Great projects.
ReplyDeleteHi Suzanne! My favorite birthday was when I turned sweet 16. I got my drivers license that day and then went out with my friends to the county fair. It was the best!
ReplyDeleteThis card is just stunning, I love the design of this and the colors.
ReplyDeleteOh! Suzanne your Chinese Birthday theme is beautiful. I love it...Your card is gorgeous..actually it is all gorgeous. Love the colors! Thanks you for the tutorials as well, how awesome. I now what to throw an oriental themed birthday party for my girl friends so we can celebrate all our birthday's together.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite birthday was when I was little would have to be when I was 8 years old - my grandma made me a beautiful swan cake for my party with my friends...it was a princess themed party and as an adult it would have to be my 40th when my hubby threw me a Surprise party!
Suzanne, this is all stunning! I love everything and am so taken with with invitation. Awesome colors and coloring!
ReplyDeleteI love this card set - the colors are gorgeous. My favorite birthday was my 30th. My best friend got married the day after my 30th birthday so the rehearsal dinner was the night of my birthday...she did her best to distract me for turning the big 3-0!!
ReplyDeleteHeidi from cardsbyheidi@gmail.com
Oh my word, Suzanne!!! What an amazing ensemble, Diana will love it. When I saw the lanterns, I remembered that we used to make these as kids. It will be fun to make them again. And that sweet umbrella and kimono invitation, so gorgeous...
ReplyDeleteI can't think of one specific special birthday or birthday gift. What I always remember is that Mom put a vase with flowers next to our breakfast setting. My birthday is in March and I still can see the little crystal vase with snowdrops in it. Those are my fondest memories. The small special touches.
Wow Suzanne! This is gorgeous! I love the oriental theme. Very, very creative! Beautiful colors. LOVE that umbrella!
ReplyDeleteWe did go a little overboard, but it sure was fun, huh?
Hugs, Mindy
Just Darling! Love all the projects you've shared today. I, too, did theme parties for my children and had a Japanese theme for one of them. Brings back fond memories! My favorite birthday was when I turned 21. I was in college and my family sent me 21 long stemmed red roses...a real surprise. They were beautiful.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful party pack! My favorite birthday age was when I turned 50 and my church stamping group threw a surprise birthday party for me complete with stamping goodies!
ReplyDeleteThis is soooooo WOW !!! I can't even begin to say how much I love this whole set. You really out did yourself this time, but it's soooooooo you !!!

ReplyDeleteMy favorite birthday was last year - my 26th. My husband organized a surprise party for me...my first surprise party ever!
Jackie
Love the theme-- I bookmarked this for an idea for my daughters upcoming b-day. My fav b-day was when I turned 13 my parents threw me a huge surprise party at a bowling alley and I was so excited to be going bowling that I walked right up to the counter to get my shoes and walked passed all of my friends who were all staring at me like "did she just miss us" Had a blast.
ReplyDeleteWow, what a wonderful idea and I love the colour scheme so great for a spring or summer theme.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite birthday would have to be when I turned 10 and finally hit double digits - a milestone in a childs eyes.
Tfs
Wow, you are really amazing Suzanne! You create miracles with Copics!

On my 60th was fantastic...I rejoice

HUGS Linda W.
Beautiful projects! I love the parasol in the ice cream.I also love what you do with the copics! I'd say my fave b-day so far was 30. I was dreading it. I had to work, and I never work on my b-day, but I had just started a job. All my new friends from work took me out that night and we just had the best time. They had a big party for me while at work too!
ReplyDeleteI just love the whole "themed" birthday celebration! Your colors are beautiful and your ideas are very festive.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite birthday was my 30th. It is the only themed birthday party I have had. My husband made a full sized coffin by the front door, a person on a table(with a Bart Simpson head) that you had to stick your hand into to find marbles for a game. The insides were full of jello, spaghetti, mushed bananas, etc. He had black everything. If only I had my cricut and internet back then we could've decorated to the nines!
Thanks for the opportunity to win presents :)

Oh my, what a beautiful birthday theme you have created. I just love your choice of colors for this set. Your talent is so amazing.
ReplyDeleteI would have to say my favorite birthday was my 16th because then I was finally allowed to date my future husband. Until then we were only allowed to go out with other family members or in large groups...so it made me feel like I was grown up. Oh, to go back those 30 years and do it again(-:
Thank you so much for the opportunity to win your lovely prizes...I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
Hugz,
Cheri
OH!!!!!!!!!!!Suzanne, Quel plaisir pour les yeux! (meaning a total pleasure for the eyes!) I love everything japanese, although I am québecoise pure laine. You even chose my favorite color combo: pink and green. Absolutely magnificent. I love everything about it.
ReplyDeleteMa favorite birthday: is the one I just celebrated: 57... No other birthdays was as beautiful, I am here, right now, at this very moment. And this is what made it so special! Oh my goodness Suzanne....I just ditto what everyone else has said about how stunning the card and everything else is. Those are two of my favorite colors. I used pink and green in my wedding 45 years ago. :-) you continue to amaze me with your talent. My fav birthday....hmmmmmm....probably my 66th this year. Why???? Because I am so much healthier and can participate in so many more things that I have done for years. Also, it means that God blessed me with another one. :-) Next year my fav will be 67. LOL Many hugs, Pat Jaynes
ReplyDeleteMy 50th birthday! My BFF sent me a box that arrived 50 days before my big day. It contained 50 gifts, some small, some a bit larger. I was to open one each day until the "big" gift that I found in the bottom of the box... it was a book about 50 things to do when you turn 50! What a blast!
ReplyDeleteIt is all of gorgeous, stunning, fabulous and beautiful!!! Wow!!
ReplyDeleteWow, what a gorgeous set! Just stunning! Thanks so much for the chance to win. My favourite birthday would have to be my 50th as my mum flew in from the other side of the country to surprise me at a big dinner my husband had organised.

My favorite birthday was turning 45and becoming a grandmother for the first time 2 days later! My daughter had a beautiful baby girl on May 4th, and 7 years later, had a baby boy on May 3rd. So, our birthdays are May 2nd, 3rd and 4th, and every year I get to celebrate with my 2 grandchildren!
ReplyDeleteWHOA girl, you surely know how to celebrate! This set is AMAZING! :) WOW! Perfect background paper for the card, and that adorable image! Must get that punch you used for the flower...GORGEOUS! :) Such a creative set!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite b'day was, and always will be, my 38th! My precious daughter was born that very day and what a blessing she is! :) With us sharing the same b'day, it gives us an extra special bond which we cherish!
Hugs~
My most memorable party was about the third grade. Since my birthday fell the first of June our school classes always went to a beach not too far away at the end of the school year. My mom decided to have my party at this outing.
ReplyDeleteThe most I remember is the paper plates and napkins we were to eat on were flying in every direction.
Your ideas for a party are great, but look like a lot of work. Thanks for showing.
Oh, you are soooooo talented! Everything you made for this set is wonderful! I love the color scheme you used. I bet you kids look forward to their birthday parties to see what you will do next. My 21st birthday was very special when my boyfriend took me to SF for dinner and theatre in the round.
ReplyDeletePlenty of mojo in these beauties! Your creativity knows no bounds! My favorite birthday is 39 which is what it is each year now!
ReplyDeleteSuzanne, I just love the Asian themed party! I spent several years in Japan, and our first daughter was born there. The kimono and parasol are just perfect :) I love the papers you used. My favorite birthday was probably my 40th, when I was hijacked by a group of friends and surprised with a wonderful lunch and fun gag gifts. Thanks for such a fun trip down memory lane!
ReplyDeleteHi Suzanne,
ReplyDeleteThis theme is so beautiful. Everything that you created are fabulous! And the colors are just perfect for it. I just love all of these goodies..
Kimono and Obi are Japanese.
My favorite birthday was probably my 60th when my kids got together and had a party for myself and hubby. Two live on the mainland and two still live by us in Hawaii. I had my whole family together and that was actually all I needed for a perfect birthday.

ReplyDeleteWonderful and amazing party project! I love all the soft beautiful colors and the paper flowers and scrolls are gorgeous. Tilda is too, too cute! Favorite birthday age was when I was 18. Felt like my adult life was just beginning and the future was full of endless possibilities. Favorite birthday party was my 39th because my DH organized an absolutely huge poolside surprise party complete with a catered meal. I didn't have a clue!
ReplyDeleteMy fave birthday is 17, I got 2 dozen red roses from an admirer, he's so romantic.
ReplyDeleteThanks Suzanne for the chance to win this.

Your theme party is just fabulous, Suzanne! I love the pretty soft color combo, gorgeous papers and Wow, the coloring!
ReplyDeleteWonderful!
This is my first visit to your blog, but definitely wont be the last. Can't tell you how clever and beautiful the whole project turned out. Card is absolutely adorable, but, you didn't stop there. The lanterns are so sweet - love them, and those umbrellas in the ice cream - better then a cherry on top definitely. Just to cute!!! Thanks for sharing with all of us.

My word!! This entire set is stunning Suzanne...the colour scheme is absolutely gorgeous. I love all the pretty details you put into your projects. What a great idea to make the little dessert umbrella...mmmm, vanilla bean ice cream!!
ReplyDeleteI'd have to say that my 16th birthday would rank up there with my favourites. My boyfriend (who is now my husband...we dated through high school, got married and celebrated our 13th anniversary this year!) surprised me with tickets to see Phantom of the Opera in Toronto...still my favourite musical!
Thanks so much for your generosity...and for the constant inspiration!!
Wow, beautiful work, as usual! Loving all the details. My fav birthday would still have to be when I turned "legal" - 18 at the time, LOL!
ReplyDeleteouaw MAGNIFIQUE ENSEMBLE :)super jadore! bisss abientot
ReplyDeleteI love your work. This set is so beautiful. The papers, the way you colored the design and the originality of the entire set. Love the card! My favorite birthday was my 25th (quite a while ago). Our first child was just a tiny one. Since we had thought we would not be able to have children, there was such joy and blessing and gratitude that birthday.
ReplyDeleteHi Suzanne!! What a fabulous birthday set you made!!!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite birthday was my 52nd, two years ago, it was when my son and daughter in law let me know they were pregnant with my gorgeous granddaughter!!! It was the best!!!!

Hi Suzanne- Luv, luv, luv your Chinese Tilda card and lantern- what a great combo of colors...my favorite birthday- don't really have one yet- still working on making the day better- will try again this year- its coming up in 2 months. Fabulous project-so awesome.
ReplyDeletei loved being 17... i just felt the world opened to me with my first trip ever
ReplyDeleteHi Suzanne, Wow, just love all these creations. Those papers awesome. Just into a purple and green theme at the moment but can see this changing to pink/green, lol.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite age is 20. This is when I married my husband and this year we celebrated 24 years of marriage, so not a bad year, lol.
Hugs Tracy x
Such a fun & beautiful birthday set, Suzanne! I love the colors! And everything looks delish (even the ice cream....lol).
ReplyDeleteMy favorite birthday was my 50th (which was quite awhile ago...teeheehee). My beautiful daughter threw a party for me at Mimi's Cafe & tons of dear girlfriends were there to help me celebrate. It was the only birthday party I've ever had (other than family)......so it was super special to me.
I don't know where you find the time to make such lovely things! You do so much & everything comes out so perfect! Can't wait to see what's next!
Huggies ~

This is fabulous! What a wonderful idea! I stopped by yesterday, but didn't have time to comment. I love the pretty papers you used. My favorite birthday way my 15th...I was a suprise, early for a change, and I got a puppy...the one I'd been wanting for ages..it was also the last party I got to have with my dad and he was a big player in the suprise and I'll never forget it!

My sister just introduced me to Magnolia stamps this past weekend and I am hooked! I found your blog and love the things you have done - especially the lanterns and fan. My fav birthday was actually my last one - I turned 50 and my kids were able to actually throw me a surprise party that was a surprise!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite birthday was a long time ago. It was the February I turned 21 (1968). I had been married the summer before and my first child was born in the summer of 68. I felt it such a blessing from above to me a Mom, and was subsequently blessed with two more - in 1973 and 1980. Best gifts ever.
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing birthday project. I love the Asian influence in the theme. Happy Birthday Diana. My favorite birthday was my 52nd birthday.
ReplyDeleteWow ! You have a bunch of cute ideas here! Really love the oriental theme! My favorite birthday year was 16 and just going through the pictures with old friends. Carol M in TX/carolswingster77@aol.com
ReplyDeleteLove this--one of your best!
ReplyDeleteI don't have a favorite birthday. I shared mine with my mom who passed away last year so they won't ever be the same. But I am blessed to still be having birthdays.
I just love all the goodies you made! Gorgeous!!!!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite birthday was when I turned 40. Hubby and I flew out to California to visit some friends.....neither one of us had ever been before. It was the first vacation we had taken since we were married....22 years earlier.
Wow this is FABULOUS Suzanne. I love the Chinese theme for your gifts/card. And the little lanterns are so cool. That is some yummy dessert too! heehee.... Great job on all your creations. I love them!

x
WOW! This is so amazing! Well, actually I happen to think everything you do is amazing, but thats besides the point. LOL
ReplyDeleteCan't tell you how glad I am to come out of hospital and see I am not too late to enter! Yay!!
My favourite birthday was when I was 34 - weird age I know. Because my birthday usually falls during school holidays here in South Africa, I have never had a successful birthday party as a kid because everybody was always away. This particular year I got up as usual to make my hubby his morning coffee before work and when I got to the dining room on the way to the kitchen, my 4 kids jumped up from behind the table and yelled: 'surprise!'
They had organised a surprise kiddies birthday party for me - 6 o'clock in the morning. Complete with cup cakes - that they made themselves, jelly and red cold drink. There were balloons, suckers, chips and everything a child can only dream of! I have a tear in my eye just typing this and remembering.
My present? A quilt that they made for me from the leftover bits of fabric of all the clothes I made for them over the years. The eldest sewed, the second one pinned and the youngest two 6 and 8 at the time spent weeks cutting blocks. The quilt is still one of my favourite things in the whole world. The only thing that I won't even share with my grandchildren.
I am just starting with Coics and stumbled across your blog and all I have to say is WOW-ZA!!!! I love your work, OMG it's awesome.....I am definitely going to be a repeat ? reader?, LOL....
ReplyDeleteMy favorite birthday was probably this last year spent with wonderful family and friends, :)....
Blessings to you!
Chris
This is gorgeous, you did an amazing job on all of the items. My favorite birthday was when I was 9 years old. I had a big sleepover with my friends. It was the last year at my childhood home before my parents divorced. I have the best memories in that home. I can remember the party like it was yesterday, even though it was over 30 years ago. Yikes!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite birthday is actually two, 42nd and 44th. Because that is when my two beautiful daughters came into my life and which is why I LOVE your Oriental themed project, as both my girls were born in China! As soon as I saw the Asian Matildas I had to have both! thanks for sharing your beautiful projects and ideas.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card! You're so creative.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite birthday was my 21st.
Love all those party fixins. The invite is so cute! My fav birthday was 10. My mom made a really great Halloween party for me. (My b-day is Nov. 2.) Thanks for the fun giveaway. Pam
ReplyDeleteI just love your birthday stuff, just beautiful. My favorite birthday was 45 yrs. I quit smoking the day before and my husband invited all my friends to the restaraunt which I didn't know about. I was really surprised. Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteThis set is gorgeous! I actually have 2 favorite birthdays. When I was 21 I had just found out I was pregnant with my son and when I was 28 I was pregnant with my daughter.
ReplyDeleteOh Suzanne, I really enjoy looking at your blog. You breing me so much inspiration! This Chinese / Japanese / Eastern set is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite birthday must have been my 30th. I had both my kids in the 2,5 years before that. I was living with husband and kids in a great place with some great friends and funally felt at ease with myself for about the first time in those 30 years. I still enjoy my family, but that was a very happy time!
Kind regards,
Marjolein
Loving the card! Very creative I need to learn from you. Suzanne you are inspiring! tyfs
ReplyDeleteMy favorite birthday was when I turned 21 my sister-in-law took me to my first show- "Chipenndales" I have never seen anything quite like it since. LOL it was very memorable-I will never do it again tho'

ReplyDeleteRocking party at CMC last night! I'm looking forward to the next one! :o)
Loved all the goodies on your blog by the way. Favorite BD was my 40th. Only adult BD I had a party, and what a party it was! My favorite sister came up from Austin, had co-workers and friends, we drank jello shots and danced and sang (off key of course) and had a blazing good time!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite bd would be the next one coming up in October...I'm grateful for each and every day, and certainly every birthday that comes along. Discovered stamping after retirement and enjoing every minute of it!!!
ReplyDeleteYour card is absolutely wonderful!!!

Just love Asian theme invitations and party ideas. My favorite birthday was the year my pen pal visited me here in Michigan from Australia. My husband arranged to surprise me with plane tickets to go with her on her as she continued on to see NYC. We visited with my parents and shared the Manhattan sights with her. We have been writing since 1965 but now we email instead!
ReplyDeleteAwesoome creations!! Themed parties are so much fun to create.
ReplyDeleteMy most memorable birthday was when I was 12. We lived out in the country and I had a sleepover outside in a tent. We were up half the night and got spooked by what we were sure was a ufo in the sky! We were in the house in a flash!
Suzanne, your coloring and papers and the complete set are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love this stamp and invitation!! My son's birthday was Aug. 19th and would have loved a boy stamp to do something like this when he was littler!!! My favorite birthday was my 41 when my husband surprised me with a night in St. Louis with tickets to Stars on Ice and then asked me how I liked my 40th birthday...lol.
ReplyDeleteSuzanne-

Wow, amazing party set, beautifully put together. My favourite birthday has to be my 50th, all my family around me, the most important thing in my life. nnalorac.x
ReplyDeleteMy favorite birthday was my 16th.
ReplyDeletethat's a toss-up. My 16th birthday was a surprise party with all of my close friends. My mom got me a stereo system that I had until my first son was born and my friends chipped in and bought me a flute from another girl in band who was upgrading to an open-holed, silver model. Oh, and my boyfriend, who was supposed to be in Indiana with his family, was actually there, and not leaving until the next day. So that one was really, really good.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand, I went into labour with my first daughter on my 25th birthday. And she's pretty darned special.
