Happy 12th Birthday Riley!!
And it wouldn't be right if his momma didn't give him a "WoooHooo" shout out on my blog! Twelve years ago I gave birth to the fattest and cutest lil' baby boy ever--he was a delight from the moment we brought him home. He's always been so good, so laid-back and easy going that it's always a joy to be his mom! He's a bit of a momma's boy but that's a-ok with me, he definitely prefers to spend time with his dad now but always comes around to me :o) He loves action figures, Star Wars, war movies and history, video games and spending time with his ma & pa, LOL and he's a straight-A student too! I can't believe he's almost a teenager--ack--where did the time go? I love you baby boy and hope this year brings you lots of joy, fun and wishes come true!!NewsBitz:
-I finished a 4 part video on "Coloring with Copics to look like Distress Inks" yesterday--whew it was a long one that I had to cut into 4 parts. You can find them HERE or access them at the top of my blog under "Tutorials/Templates" header.
-Susana's Custom Art & Card Design will be having a NEW Elisabeth Bell Release next Friday, Feb 19th! Blog Candy starts on the 15th!! These are such lil' cuties!

Warrior of Love
Lots of distressing with my distress tool and inking of edges--the sentiment is from a Heidi Grace set I have (find it HERE and it's on sale-bargain). I bought these paper doilies awhile ago and I've been itching to use them--I inked it up to distress the white a bit. The mini roses are by Prima--buy them HERE--and I just twirled the stems around a paintbrush. I added a few stickles and some diamond glaze on the heart arrows and the bow was made with my fave Bow Easy!
See my video's to learn how to color this sweetie (link above) but I used these Copic Colors:
Hair: E27,E31,E41,W3/Skin: E13,E11,E00,R21,W3/Dress:R20,R00,R0000,W3,E42/Bow:E7,E25,E53,E41,W3/Arrows: C5,C1,C00,W3
I'll see ya back here tomorrow with another fun project and don't forget that Monday is the 15th which means Copic Creations Challenge, Blog Candy and the reveal of the new Dirty Dozen Gallery at SCS!!

I've just watched your videos showing how to achieve this look and they are great. I have seen the distress ink coloring and been intrigued by it, but my experience with watercolors in the past was less than satisfying. I'm always trying to get things done in time and I just haven't been able to find the time to experiment. Now, I'll be able to achieve the look with my Copics. Thank you so much and I'm ordering some of that cardstock today.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Riley! I am so bummed that I was running very late yesterday and did not get to see this earlier. What a fun Birthday to have your friends over. Suzanne you sound like me when I talk about my baby boy.(He will be 13 in July) I always kid both my kids and tell them that nobody gave them permission to become 11 & 12. Of course I then get an OH Mom, from my daughter. Don't you just love having a sweet boy? My Mitchell is, and it would not occur to him to be mean to a soul. I am affraid that also makes him a bit of a worrier, but I Would rather have sweet then bratty. Wonderful card. I just love this stamp and the colors you used. Now, if you will forgive me I am off to watch your videos...Yay, Christmas come early. lol..Have a great weekend, Lisa g
ReplyDeleteOM goodness!!! This is gorgeous!! Wow!
ReplyDeleteSuzanne - Your image is so beautiful. I have just started using distress inks, and sometimes just feel the need to watercolor. However, when I want to get something done quickly, this method is fabulous. Thank you so much for the wonderful tutorial.
