The Music of Love!!

Happy First Monday of 2010 to you all!  Wow, another work week is upon us--it was soooo nice to have some time off but unfortunately it only lasts so long!  This month is jam packed with things including some fun announcements, new releases, blog hops & my trip to CHA at the end of the month.  Makes me tired just thinking about it all, hee hee!  It has been in the 10's degree wise here in VA with winds gusting up to 50 mph and I'm am sooo OVER winter, lol--I'm hoping it's alot warmer in CA when I visit for CHA or I'll be mad :o)!!  Well it's got to be warmer than 10 degrees, right? right? LOL!  At this rate my Xmas decorations will be up outside until spring if it doesn't get warmer (my neighbors will love that, NOT)!  Alrighty, enough chitter-chat from me today!  I posted yesterday too with a new Lockhart Stamp (from the new collection) so if you missed that, it's below this post!!

NewsBitz:

**Don't forget to stop by tonite at 11 pm for the Gina K Previews--I'm using a brand new set that is super cute so you won't want to miss it (but if that's too late for ya, it will still be up tomorrow too)!

**NEW Copic Video is finished--shows how to color objects/images GOLD!!  Link is HERE or you can find it on my Tutorial page (link at top of blog)!

The Music of Love

Today I have a romantic kinda card for ya using some fabulous new Magnolia stamps from the Winter Club Kit (kits are available here, although winter kit is no longer available) but Diana of Magnolia-licious will have these in stock very soon for ya!  This month's Magnolia-licious DT Challenge is hosted by the very lovely Sharon Caudle and she chose 'Frame Cards' for our challenge.  You can visit the Magnolia-licious Highlites Blog HERE to get all the details & instructions on how to make these!

As soon as I saw this piano stamp I knew I would use it first because I am dying to get a piano of my own, hee hee---I'm asking hubby to get me (err..umm..us?lol) a piano for our anniversary this year!  I loved playing the piano when I was younger & want to take lessons again---it is a total dream item for me!  I used K&Co's "Smitten" papers (love this pack) and then I embossed the background cs with my CB hearts folder for texture.   The sentiment is from a Flourishes set I have and then I 'faked' a ruffle trim on the inside using sheer ribbon (lined the inside frame w/ Scor-tape and then pleated the ribbon and adhered to the tape--ta-da, ya get a ruffle)!  The rose on top of the piano I made--I snipped a small prima flower in half and then rolled it, attached some leftover wire with scor-tape and laid on top of piano (genius right, hee hee)!

Side view of the frame card to show you the dimension!  The flowers are stacked various Primas (find the roses & hydrangeas HERE) and then I added stardust stickles to the roses for sparkle!

All of my images were colored with Copics, the piano, her sash & shoes got a nice shiny coat of diamond glaze and some stickles on the back of the piano & her lace ruffle trim.  A romantic Valentines Card for someone special in your life!!  (Copics Used:  Piano-E49,E47,E44,E42/Dress-R85,R83,R81,R46,R43)

Hope you like this lil' beauty (she might be for sale in my Etsy store, don't know if I can give it up, lol)--make sure and stop by the Magnolia-licious Highlites Blog to see more samples & to join in on the Challenge!

See ya tomorrow!

  2. Beautiful card as usual, Suzanne...... your coloring is fantastic!

Oh, and if the weather keeps on as it has been the last few days, you'll be in for a big improvement over your area. I'm a little south of LA in San Diego, but we're pretty similar, and today we were in the low 80's. This week it'll be in the 70's. That's why we call it "God's Country" out here!!!

  16. Thanks for another wonderful Copic video! Your coloring amazes me!! I'm still working on the blending and shading and nothing looks as good as yours, for sure. Also, saw that you got a Kindle for Christmas - so did I! My hubby got me a Kindle DX which I didn't even ask for so it was a surprise. I read all the time so he thought I would enjoy it. How did you get through 9 books since Christmas??? I'm still on my first Kindle book, but almost finished. Again, thanks for all the super videos and samples!
