Happy New Years!!
Since I'm done with making Christmas Cards this year, I thought I'd make a Happy New Year's set instead for ya! This cutie pie image is by Stampavie's Penny Johnson & called "Bubbly Bears"--this fun image is perfect for any celebratory occasion ya know (you can see the entire cute collection right HERE--I love them all)! Of course if you changed the inside sentiment of this card it would be perfect for an anniversary, birthday or wedding card! I kept the colors simple--just gold & creams and created an aperture card for the Cute Card Thursday Challenge. (aperture means a cut-out on the front of the card with the image or scene on the inside showing thru).
I embossed the cream cs with one of my favorite CB embossing folders called "Textile Texture"--so elegant and paired it with PTI's shimmery gold cs. The center was cut out using my Nestabilities Labels 1 set--my favorite shape next to the circles and ovals I tell ya---if you get any of them I recommend those 3!! The flowers are a mix of Primas with gold glitter dot centers, and I tied my ribbon (I used both gold & cream ribbons together) with my Bow Easy.
The image was colored with Copics and the inside dp is by Graphic 4--sentiment is from PTI's "Signature Christmas" set.
Aren't they just the cutest couple? I colored the champagne in with my gold Spica pen and then added a layer of diamond glaze on top of the glasses, bubbles and their lil' pink noses :o)
Aren't these the cutest lil' candles? I got a set of 8 of these at my AC Moore store for like $6--they're so fun! Perfect for party favors or fun little hostess gifts (mine are linen scented but they had a few other scents & colors as well). I just dressed them up simply with some gold ribbon bows.

Thanks for sharing these awesome photos! Wish I could take some of that snow away from you since we only have about 2 inches on the ground and I love snow. Don't think I want as much as you have, though! Hope you are able to stay indoors and watch the beauty from there. The ice sculptures are increcible - I'll bet that was fun to see.
ReplyDeleteHi Suzanne...Love the card. The stamp and the colors you picked are wonderful. Sorry about your NY trip. Your snow looks great from Houston but I understand it's a hassle and gets old quick!! Hopefully you will get to NY after Christmas. Thanks for sharing your pictures, the ice sculptures are amazing!!!
ReplyDeleteHello...Your site is my favorite daily visit...it would be so wonderful to win the paper cutter as I do not have one this nice one. Your so talented not only with your cards, but also your beautiful home...happy holidays...lynn hamon
ReplyDeleteHi Suzanne, your card is just adorable. I definitely want to give the aperature card a try! Love the gold and creme colors - quite striking! Ha, ha, ha! Now I remember why it's not good to have a white Christmas! Love the beauty of it, but oh, the shoveling! The pictures of the Ice Sculptures are amazing! Have a wonderful Christmas and all best wishes for the New Year!
ReplyDeleteI love your card!♥♥♥ It's wonderful!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures from your snowy world and your trip!
Big hugs,
Aud
Suzanne.....First off, love the card, it's so adorable. I'm so sorry to hear you didn't make it on your trip. As soon as I heard about the weather on the news, I thought about you, and whether you'd make it or not! What we'd give for some snow out here in sunny CA, although we really do feel for you and all the problems that go with it. We have enough issues just driving in the rain (since it happens so infrequently!).
ReplyDeleteAlso, thank you for sharing the lovely ice sculptures, those wouldn't have made it out here either....they were wonderful. They would have had to have been out of sand!!! hee hee hee.
Finally, I downloaded "Julia's Chocolates" on my Kindle, to read when I finish "A Friend of the Family". Let us know how you like "Henry's Sisters", because that sounded good too!!
What a swee card to make! I have to trip. I think I have to try this soon! Once I a chance, I will definately try it out!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Cabio
This is just adorable!! Love you coloring!
