This card uses the FABULOUS set “Warm Woolen Mittens” by Becky Oehlers…brings to mind the Sound of Music song huh? Oh yeah I hear you singing it too LOL! My fave color is red and I LOVE toile so this project is right up my alley. I paper pieced the mittens with paper from Authentique’s “Festive” paper pad and distressed & inked it. The cream cs was embossed with an embossing folder then inked as well, I tried to emboss it with a sweater-like pattern to bring more texture into the card. The mitten cuffs got Stickles for sparkle & bling. I used some of fave Bakers Twine to hang the mittens with.
The second card I used “Lots of Letters” by Melanie Muenchinger to create graphic crossword like card that happened TOTALLY by accident LOL (dontcha’ love that). I had actually put letters on block to create a fun corner-like border on the white Gina K cardstock. Once I started I realized it created a HEART…ahahahahaha so I went with it! The heart was done with a Spellbinder die and I kept it pretty simple. Since Valentines Day is the next big Holiday I figured this would work perfectly for anyone. Hard to see but I dotted Viva Décor Glitter Pen around the heart for a bit of subtle sparkle...everyone's gotta have some sparkle yes??? LOL!
Ok that’s it for me….now hop around to the designer’s blogs below to see more inspiration using these fun, new releases!! Don’t forget to leave comments for a chance to win a fun grab-bag of Gina K products!
