Hi all and Happy Wednesday to you all! Do you all tweet, twitter at all? Do you know what I’m talking about? LOL! I’m talking social media networking like Twitter and Facebook. I have to say I resisted for quite awhile even though the kids were all OVER it in the beginning. But I was lured on by my brother of all people 2 years ago and I have to say I’m loving it (and only slightly addicted to it). I have been able to contact and talk to more people that I had lost contact with over the years—you know how that goes, you move, you change states, you get married and suddenly you don’t know where all your old friends have gone. So I love the fact that even though we are spread out all over the world and country I can still see their lives, children and chat with them occasionally. For all the negativity surrounding social media it has been awesome for contacting and meeting new friends. I have made a ton of new friends as well on Facebook and I love that too. I post a couple times a day if I have time so I’m not always on there but I know a lot of people who have it up constantly (ahem…if this is you, then I’m pointing you out lol) and are always on there. I have no problem with that but HONESTLY I quickly post my comment and then I read whoever has posted on that 1 page and I SHUT IT DOWN. FACEBOOK IS A TIME SUCKER!!!! If you remain on the site longer than 5 mins you will lose at least 2 hours of your life EVERY DARN DAY---I KID you not! LOL! You just have to say NO & shut it down people! And those darn games---ugh! I DO NOT PLAY ONLINE GAMES OK!!! Not cuz’ I’m a game snob, just the opposite, I LOVE to play games which is why I stay far, far away from being sucked into them. When Angry Birds came out (yes you all know the game, don’t act like you don’t) I spent 2 FULL WEEKS OF MY LIFE playing that darn game until I finished it, every last level I completed and when I logged in online I realized I was one of the first 500 people to complete it that fast and with a high score LMBO! Yeah I was obsessed with it and couldn’t put it down—I had it on my phone and my Ipad and even tried to play it out at dinner before hubby shut me down. So now I just say NOOOOOOO to all online games like Farmville, Smurfville and all those other crazy games. I only play them in airports when I’m delayed if I’m in the mood---keeps me sane sometimes cuz’ you know I always have a lot of delays LOL. So while in South Carolina this spring, my good pals (ahem lol) Pat Jaynes & Dana Shaw invite me to play “Words” on my phone with them—it’s a free app and its like Scrabble. You play with a friend and you each take a turn, when your turn is done it sends it over to your friend until they take their turn. Ummm YEAH---GEEZ THANKS A LOT GALS! CUZ NOW I’VE GOT 28 GAMES GOING ON with a bunch of friends LOL! So what do I do every night before bed? Yep after I’m done reading I pull out my phone and play Words with everyone that sent me their turn---sometimes it takes me an hour LOL. But I figure Scrabble is like brain food right---its good for you hee hee. So if you play “Words” and you want to play with me---send me a game invite at shazams74 and I promise YEP I will accept and play with you too LMBO So my point today issss? BEWARE of the social network and online games syndrome---they will SUCK you in and not let go!!!
PS--Want to join in a fun challenge? Head over to SCS to join in on the Dare to Get Dirty Challenges that are going on all week---lots of fun! My challenge is HERE and I'd love to see you play along, there are prizes to be had as well so hop to it!! You must be a fan club member to play though, and you can join that here as well.
Today I’m sharing another project with you using the fabulous Gina K StampTV set “Falling For You” (you can see the other project I did with this set on post below). There are so many fun images and sentiments in this LARGE set that you will find all kinds of fun things to make! Make sure to hop along the blogs today to see more inspiration with this set—see list at end of post!
I used some new papers from Kaisercraft—I love the mix of blues and greens. I chose a few of the stamps from the set to make a mini scene. I stamped my images in Paris Dusk Memento ink this time (usually I use black but I’m breaking out a bit and using some new colors LOL). I used Spellbinders Labels 15 to create my image mats and then sponged the edges with my Inkssentials Blending Tool (my fave too evah). The leaves are from Marianne Designs dies and then I added some layered Primas and pearls to finish it off.
And yes this cutie got colored with Copics YG67,YG03,G20 / B24,B21,Colorless Blender pen. I stickled up the wings, tail and leaves with some Stardust stickles cuz’ you know it ain’t a Suzanne project without those Stickles LOL!
- Suzanne Dean (that’s me—thanks much)
Have a good one everyone & see you back here tomorrow!
