Sweet Baby Cheeks!!

Happy T.G.I.Friday everyone!  Whatcha’ doin’ this weekend?  I can’t tell you where I am (hmmm where in the world is Suzanne?) but I am flying out of DC at 7:30 am this morning to fly across country!  Its top-secret, shhhhhh, kinda business that I cannot share right now but I’m looking forward to it.  And no my suitcase NEVER gets unpacked much anymore LOL—I remove dirty stuff, insert clean stuff and head out the door again.  If you follow me on Facebook you MIGHT see me post a few pics this weekend to see if anyone can “guess” where I am, hee hee!

And yep I have a goofy story or two for you today—start your weekend off with a giggle perhaps??!!  I swear these things happen to me that make no sense & I never understand why really but afterwards I can't help but LAUGH!  While I was up in NY visiting with my grandmother I got a chance to relax and read in bed each night which was FANTASTIC.  Well one night I had the munchies so I was crunching on some snack mix and I had a Coke right next to me on the bedside table.  There was a fly buzzing around the room and Riley had a fly-swatter and was chasing it much to my chagrin—I told him he better not swat it over my food (ewww).  So I’m reading, eating, crunching and drinking---I take a huge slurp of my Coke and thought I had a small piece of ice in my mouth.  UMM NO PEOPLE IT WAS THAT DARN FLY and YEPPERS I CRUNCHED IT!  As soon as I crunched it I knew what it was—HURL, BARF, HEAVE, CHOKE, SPIT!  Riley’s eyes were HUGE as I’m slowly vomiting in my hand (TMI I know but that’s what I did) and there was the fly---FLY PARTS I should say!  OMGoodness, I raced in the bathroom gagging, used mouth rinse, brushed teeth about 5 times.  I made Riley boil water in the microwave so I could sanitize my toothbrush. It was DISGUSTING---I was like the friggin’ ole’ lady who swallowed a fly! LMBO—nasty, nasty (even now I’m feeling a bit sick thinking about it).  Did I make you feel sick too? LOL—sorry but I had to share!  Then I wake up the next morning go out to my car to get something, turn around and shut the darn car door.  Then I GOT WHIPLASH---I closed my hair right in the DOOR and about scalped myself.  My grandma was laughing so hard, omgoodness I swear I should NOT BE ALLOWED out of the house sometimes. In fact I’m amazed I have made it to adulthood some days with the dumb stuff I do all the time---its just SCARY!  So I’m hoping all goes smoothly (yeah right) on my trip today so if you have lots of fingers and toes to cross please CROSS them all for me Winking smile

Sweet Baby Cheeks!!

P1110815_edited-1

I know just go on and say it “awwwwww!!”---she’s a super cutie ‘eh?  This lil’ cutie is another sweet image from the “Peekers 2 Collection” by Elisabeth Bell for SCACD.  This one is called “Sweet Cheeks Peeker”—cuz her sweet lil’ cheeks are peeking out of her ruffled panties hee hee.  I think she’s just a doll!

I'm entering this cutie into the following challenges:
The Crafty Pad (cute-n-girly)

P1110819_edited-1

My papers are new from that yummy Authentique Paper Collection—I adore the sweet and lovely patterns.  The border was done with a MS border punch done with 2 layers.  The dies are from Marianne Designs, bow done with Bow Easy and flowers by Prima.  I added tiny pearls to the border of my Spellbinders “Beaded Ovals” die mat for more sweetness.

P1110810_edited-1

And yes she is colored with Copics: R22,R21,Colorless Blender / C3,C1,C00 / E11,E00 / E25,YR23,YR20.  I added Stickles to her ruffles and bows for some sparkle.  A Sweet Pea for sure!

Blog Candy Alert--- Leave a comment answering the below question by Monday:
“What  Is Your Favorite City in the World is and Why?”
and you could win 2 Peeker stamps, a pack of Authentique paper and some lovely Prima flower packs.

Hope you enjoyed this and I wish you all a fantastic weekend!!

  15. Sooooooooo sweet! Love that little chubby toddler stamp! The card is just a delight! You moved away from your usual cool color scheme. I like it!

We used to have a lovely beach house in Neskowin, OR. I had the most amazing view of Cascade Head, the beach, forest, and ocean. I had a 22' bay window put in the front so we could just sit in the window seat or on the sofa and be mesmerized by the ebb and flow of the waves. It was our home for 22 years until someone decided to build a two story home over a part of the lot that was NOT designated for a home! He could have built to the left and kept the same view as us, but he had to plop his house dead center. We sold and I've not returned to Oregon since. It broke my heart on so many levels. To this day, I cannot understand how someone could be so mean. I had cool temps, rain, beautiful sunsets, deer, racoons, osprey, tons of birds, and an eagle that we were able to just watch and enjoy. I love Oregon so much! I miss it!

    Chris Christensen

  18. Hi Suzanne - This card is so cute - love the colors you chose. I also enjoy reading your stories. It is so disgusting to take a drink or bite of something and realize you have a very nasty bug in your mouth!! GAG!!! Considering I have not been to that many big cities, my favorite is Tucson, Arizona. The mountains around Tucson are so beautiful, winters are mild and summers are bearable. Lots and lots of beautiful desert plants and cactus, which I love. And I am very fond of the beautiful UA campus.Have a wonderful weekend and safe trip. Hugs, Sharon :o)

My favorite city is Victoria, B.C., Canada where I live. Victoria is a beautiful city, moderate weather year round, located on an island, so surrounded by the ocean. It is a great place to raise a family and most of my family lives here.

Have fun wherever you are going!

  43. Love reading your blog. Suzanne, you have some of the most humorous experiences when you travel. Always good for a laugh. My most favorite city in the world would be San Francisco. It is an absolutely beautiful city with many places to go and many interesting things to see and do. You can travel 40 miles away and it can be 40 degrees warmer; not that far from wine country, and during the winter it is not that far to travel to the Sierras for snow and skiing.

  49. Well right now I have been to London Ontario 3 times in one week! So I guess I am loving it.
Just past London is one of my favorite scrapbook stores. It even hosted a great and talanted copic teacher on the 13th. I was so happy to take her class. Then In London there is a great stamp store. Then there are the malls that I had to take my daughter and niece to for them to shop for clothes, purses, makeup and shoes (buy a pair and a child in a 3rd world country gets a pair I do not like the shoes but I like the cause)....how boring and such a waste of money that could of gone to my hobby.:) oh wait I guess 23 new Copics, dies, paper and stamps is my back to school shopping ;)

  50. It is so nice to know that I am not the only 'klutz'. Your story about the fly had me gagging and the the hair in the car door cracked me up cause I have been there and done that, only from the inside of the car. My favorite city would be Key West, it is like another world of totally laid back people without a care in the world.

  51. I love your stories and laughed so hard about eating the fly! I am sure everyone has eaten some insects over time, but I don't know that I have ever eaten one that crunched. Yuck!!

My favorite city in the world is Venice, Italy. It is so unique and beautiful with all of the water.

I love your card, it is adorable!

  52. OMGosh! I laughed so hard reading your fly story! You are hilarious, Suzanne. I laugh almost every time I read your blog. Your Sweet Cheeks card is adorable. Such amazing coloring and I love the paper you used.
Oh,my, I don't know if I can pick a favorite city. I've traveled to some fabulous ones and loved each one for a different reason -- Munich, Paris, New York, Washington DC, Monte Carlo, San Francisco, Phoenix, Santa Fe, Montreal, Quebec City, Seattle, Monterey, Carmel -- I've had marvelous trips to all of these places and more, but I guess if I had to pick one out of the bunch it would be New York for the shows, all the activity and the best part, Central Park! Paris is a close second, though! See-- I can't pick just one!

    ReplyDelete
  53. You are too funny sometimes. I heard on TV yesterday that the average human swallows 8 spiders at night while they are sleep in their lifetime. That is almost as bad as the bug! My favorite city? well, I have two that would be tied. The first is Ede (pronouced A dah) Netherlands, so much history, ease of access to the rest of the Netherlands and Amsterdam, Paris, Brussles, etc. and then the other is Naples, FL, my home for 14 years. Naples has the most beautiful beaches and the most fantastic wildlife! I could easily go back to live there again. Either place! Life is sweet with little peeks - everywhere!

    ReplyDelete
  54. Oh Suzanne I cannot even imagine the awful-ness of the fly in the drink ... gross, gross, gross. You poor thing. Your card is just gorgeous. Gosh picking just one city in this amazing world of ours is tough for me because it seems like every time I visit a city the one I'm in is my fave!!! I really love Paris though because every building is just beautiful, I love walking around and hearing French spoken, love looking at the beautiful goodies in all the patisseries and love the museums and history

    ReplyDelete
  55. My favorite city would be Harpers Ferry WV. Harpers Ferry may not be a city but we have the most beautiful rivers to play in, tube riding, kyacking and just plain relaxing. In the summer it's beautiful, in the winter you are close to many areas for sking etc. I live here and I can see for miles from my back deck nothing but beautiful country.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Sorry to laugh but that story was hilarious...YUCK!!

Favorite city...hmmm...that's a hard one to answer because I have many favorites depending on what I'm in the mood for... Chicago, San Diego, Nashville or Memphis, Orlando....All for various reasons, i don't think I can just pick one.

  57. Oh, Suzanne, you must be a magnet for mishaps! My favorite city would be Asheville, NC. I love being in the mountains and this area is like the doorway to heaven--Blue Ridge Mountains.

This is a little difficult because there are lots of cities I've loved but I guess I have to say Seattle as it is probably the prettiest natural setting in the world surrounded with mountains and water and beautiful tall green trees...a feast for the eyes!!!

    ReplyDelete
  60. Okay, I should NOT have read that fly story right after I ate breakfast. It made my stomach turn a little. =P My favorite city is Seattle. I know this is a little bit of a cheat because I live here, but no matter where I go I always want to come back! It's fabulous being surrounded by water and mountains, and the weather is actually GREAT (no matter what anyone says) because it's so mild. No hundred degree summers or sub-zero winters for this chica! =) It's absolutely beautiful here and now I better shut up before everyone decides to move here. Hee hee hee... =P

  61. OMGosh Suzanne.......I can totally identify with your fly story.......unfortunately. It happened to me when I pulled a coffee mug off of a 'cup tree' in the 70's & I didn't check first before filling it with coffee. UGH And later in the 80's I was playing guitar for a Women's Bible study group & a fly flew in my mouth as I was singing. GULP GASP........UGH LOL

My FAVorite city in the world is the town where I live.........only because that's where my family & I live. all together.......nice & cozy. LOL Plain & simple. I love my family........nutty & noisy as they are........but I wouldn't have it any other way. So there ya have it. My kind of town! Where my family is lives.......is my FAVorite place to be.

I'd have to say that my favorite city that I've ever been to is Seattle, WA. I love the fact that there are so many things to do and see that are either in the city or within an hour or so of it. When I visited Seattle the weather was great (not all the rain that you always hear about), and just like the song says, "the bluest skies you've ever seen are in Seattle". I was mesmerized by Mt. Ranier on the days the mountain was "out", and I loved all of the fresh fruit, veggies, and flowers to be had at the Market (not to mention watching them throw the fish!!!).

  68. This is the most adorable card!!!! Your coloring is amazing!!!! And the fly? All I can say is EWWWW!!! My favorite city is tough since I'm not a city girl at all...I guess Louisville KY was really nice. It has more of a quaint feel. I was there when all the trees were flowering.

I died laughing at your story - well I do THAT on every Suzanne story LOL! :) My favorite city at the moment is a tie between San Diego, California - the most perfect weather and beaches, so much to see, do and EAT :) and just overall a blast to visit AND Chicago in the summer (I always fly SW into Midway BTW!)- I LOVE the parks and Lake Michigan and the summer weather! :)

  79. Oh Suzanne - You always make me laugh!

My favorite City in the world would have to be Davao City, Philippines. I spent a wonderful year there in high school and remember how kind and welcoming everyone was. It is just a carefree atmosphere.

Thanks for the chance to win!
    Hugs, Wini

  80. My favorite city (town really) in the world is where I currently live. It is home: Hartville, Ohio. It is about a half dot on a map, but it's where I grew up. After moving away (couldn't wait), I met my husband and we decided to move back. There's nothing quite like that small hometown feeling!
