Our last week in Hilton Head was full of fun and beach trips! One day the waves were the biggest we have ever seen there. Course the kids decided that it was the PERFECT day to break out the raft—it was a comedy of errors that didn’t involve me but I can totally see that they both inherited the “Suzanne effect” LOL (see pics below). We did some night swimming in our pool too and yes it was at 1 am (I hear my mom groaning right now) but we are a family of vampires so it works for us and its just plain ole’ FUN right? That’s why they call it vacation KWIM! We also did one of my fave activities—KAYAKING on Skull Creek and in the inlets! WELL I SWORE that I would not share a kayak with Alexa after last year but somehow, darn it she convinced me to share again. UGH—lets just say that I was the only wet person on the trip because she dumped about 10 gallons of water behind her on me with her paddle. And then we saw dolphins and she about tipped us over, almost lost her paddle and then wasn’t helping paddle half the time cuz’ “she was tired” awww NOT..don’t feel sorry for ya uh-uh!! James & Riley were like “why you guys so slow”---well….ummmm…when you have a DEAD WEIGHT in the kayak you don’t go so fast, LOL! And then we went thru grasses and the lil’ black crabs were on them dropping into the kayak—LMBO—omg Alexa was flipping out. And when I start laughing you know what happens? I get weak and can’t paddle LOL so we just sat there while she screamed—our guide thought we were BONKERS. Funny thing---six degrees of separation again yep—he is the son of the fantastic guide we had out on Dafuskie Island last year (see what I mean about connections between us all)! Then we celebrated 4th of July over at Shelter Cove, had a yummy dinner at Alexanders (my fave) and rode our bikes over to the cove. Alexa met up with a friend and we camped out and watched the fireworks and ate ice cream (way too much ice cream for me, I need to detox). We hadn’t finished our ice cream when James announced he wanted Mexican…uh what? Yep he ate a HUGE chimichanga burrito thing and a margarita after all that---I was GAGGING!! I’m not sure how he ate it all and then biked back home but then he ATE A FRIGGIN’ donut too---I think he was trying to make me barf to tell you the truth. So the Dean Family is on Vacation-Food Detox currently, only healthy stuff and yes Cherry Coke too for the next few weeks!

Flower Baby!!
Today I’m sharing a fun project using a brand NEW From the Vault stamp by Elisabeth Bell for SCACD—Susana’s Custom Art & Card Design! This cutie is called “Hydrangea Hugs”---hydrangeas are my fave flower after tulips. Mine in my front flower beds are huge right now so I’m going to clip some and dry them—love them dried and displayed in vases!
I’m entering this project into the following fab challenges:
My papers are from a K&Co pack that I have—I just love the combo of spring green, aqua and lilac together, so pretty! The mats behind the image were done with SB’s Labels 1 die and the green mat was embossed with a CB folder (cherry blossoms). The large flower wreath on the left is by Prima—I got mine in FL at my pal Paula Beeten’s store in Port St. Lucie and I finally had a great project to use it on! Bow Easy was used for the double bow and topped with a Prima flower & Prima Jewel.
This sweetie was colored with Copics V99,V95,V93 / B04,B02,B000 /E11,E00,R20 / E37,E35,E31,E50. Then I added stardust Stickles to her flower hat and the bow. Diamond Glaze was used on the pot for extra shine!
That’s it for me today—hope you enjoyed this cutie! See you back here on Friday with a Copic Creations Challenge!
Great stories, great photos and a great card to boot. I love following your blog. There is always something interesting happening at your house!
ReplyDeleteSuch a gorgeous card...I love hydrangeas, they remind me of my husband's grandmother who could grow nearly anything in cement if she tried. Thanks for bringing back her lovely memory with your beautiful card!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cutie!

ReplyDeleteSuzanne, I have to tell you, I love your cards...but I really come to your blog for the stories!!! I've never heard someone with as many zany stories as you have!! I love it. I always laugh out loud when I read your blog. Then my husband thinks I'm the one that's crazy!!
ReplyDeleteYour card is cute and love the colors. I can't believe some the trials you get into. Funny to us that read about them, but probably not to you. Glad I'm older and retired and kids are grown up. A solution to your BADGER PROBLEM. Shoot it and dig a hole and put it in. If you don't have a gun ask a friend that has one to do it for you.
ReplyDeleteYour card is cute and love the colors. Buttt, one solution to your badger problem, shoot it or have someone you know with a gun come over and shoot it, then burry it.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous pictures, and sounds like a perfect vacation.
ReplyDeleteI just love reading of your adventures. Even everyday normal ones are hilarious.
Your card is beautiful and love the coloring.

Suzanne, I'm sorry, but I was laughing while reading your story - as usual!!! I could just picture the whole thing, so funny. Of course, we don't see those things out here in our neighborhoods....although we do have other critters.... Hope James is able to get rid of him by the time you get home.
