Southern Charms!!

Hello & a happy, sunny Tuesday to you all!  I am running around like a chicken with its head cut off today I tell ya!  Trying to finish up projects before I leave for Vermont, running errands and running my daughter & her friend to cheerleading practices (9-3 everyday)!  Just never enough time in the day I tell ya--I could use at least 6 more hours in each day, then it would be PERFECT I tell ya!

I have to say that my hubby is pretty good about cleaning up after himself. The kids & grandies too. I guess. Well.......let's not kid ourselves. My 14 going on 24 granddaughter thinks she has a personal main following her around the house. OY She leaves cups, crumbs, dribbles, a trail of crumbs everywhere. Then there's my aforementioned hubby........while he does pick up his clothes........if he makes toast he never ever ever in this world will wipe the counter. Therefore.......he leaves crumbs that look like ants trailing behind him. LOL Do I see a theme in my house. hahaha Trails everywhere. My dd & oldest dgd (20) are pretty good BUT never ever clean the stove or sink after cooking. OY.....more trails for mom/grandma/wifey/ME to clean up. LOL And why.....pray tell.......is it......that if the dog potties in the house that it's MY JOB to clean it up???? I didn't sign on for this. I didn't even sign on for the pup. LOL
Okay.......nuff complaining!

My worst daily chore not be to gross but it is...Wiping Hiney's!!  OMG I have a 2, 4 and 6 year old that is a lot of wiping. Now my 6 year old tries but it isn't always a great job so I like to be thorough. And it is always at the worst times, eating, cooking when I am in the shower. If it were once a day per child it would be ok but oh no it is always 2 or more. Thanks for listening it is time to go take care of my chore,hehe.

Southern Gals!!

Today I'm sharing with you my project for the August Magnolia-licious DT Sketch hosted by DT Mindy Baxter!  She challenged us to create T-Slide Cards and you can find all the details on how to play along at the Magnolia-licious Highlites Blog HERE!  This project can be a little tricky so I have put together some new directions for a 5.5" square card like mine HERE--follow along with Beate's original tutorial/video tutorial HERE to finish it.

I chose to use this beautiful image from the Wedding Collection called "Romantic Tilda" from Magnolia-licious!  To me she is a perfect Southern Girl on a summer outing--so I used lots of pink and frilly embellishments.  My papers are new from Basic Grey's "Olivia" paper pad--love the patterns/colors!  The frilly frame was made with some new stamps I got at CHA (you can use them for parchment crafting)--I stamped the frame onto parchment vellum with white Palette ink & pierced it. (find these stamps/crafts at www.sweetstamps.com) Then I cut it out and added some stickles to it for bling--I love it!  I cut some Marianne Designs scrolls out of the parchment as well & added them to the corners.

The end of the pull-out I used my Nestabilities (labels 11) for the edge of the pull-out--I just cut out two ends and added them to the pull-out and added some vellum and pearls on top to pretty it up!

When you pull the tab the front flap pulls forward revealing a fun sentiment or image of your choosing!  I used this sentiment from PTI's "Heartfelt Basics"--it says "Thank you for Blessing my life with your friendship"!  Isn't that a beautiful sentiment--I just adore it!

Here's this cutie up close--I colored her with Copics in a distressed-ink style (see my 4 videos on this here).  I used R22,R20,R00/W3,W1 in Copics and then I put some stickles on all the ruffle trims.  The background oval was cut with nestabilities and then embossed with a CB folder.
