Silver White Fairy Princess!!

Hello everyone and a Happy Sunday to you all!  Sorry I've been MIA for the past few days but it's been crazy busy here at the Dean household!  I had a Copic Class to teach, kid's appointments, finishing the next issue of the craft magazine and Dirty Girl Projects--YIKES!  My daughter also had her semi-formal 8th grade dance on Friday night (see slideshow pics below)--she looked so grown up and pretty.  She got her hair done at the salon to look like Lauren Conrad's (star from The Hills--see here) and I think she's a young dead-ringer for Lauren if I do say so myself.  I loved her dress, it was perfect and age appropriate for her!  She had a BLAST and then had a sleepover at a friend's with 4 other girls, went to a pool party yesterday and then a graduation party that night.  Her social calendar is hopping, LOL!  I still find it so hard to believe that she graduates middle school on Thursday evening and will be off to high school in the fall.  It feels like she just graduated from elementary school---all in a blink of an eye I tell ya!  And my son--oh my gosh he's now the same height as me, when the heck did that happen?  LOL--I don't like it one bit--he'll always be the baby to me :)

Anywho, I have a busy week ahead as well---working on projects for while I'm on vacation, checking homework in the Copic classrooms and then my mom is visiting on Thursday thru the weekend to see Alexa graduate.  I'm hoping to drag her around for some "junkin' & antiquin'"--I'm on the lookout for some goodies, LOL!  Then next week I'm off to South Carolina--I cannot wait!!

NewsBitz:

Silver White Fairy Princess!!

Today I'm sharing an elegant Magnolia card I made--instead of sleeping the other night I had visions of card creations floating through my brain, LOL!  And this was one of the ideas and I'm thrilled with the results!  I think this Magnolia stamp called "Lady Tilda" from Magnolia-licious is just beautiful and I made her into a Silver-White Fairy Princess!  I love almost-all-white cards because they're so elegant and you have to use a lot of texture to create some dimension and interest on the card.  This also works for this week's challenge at the Magnolia Birthday Bash Blog which is to use BLING on your projects (easy peasy right, lol)---head over there to join in on the fun!!

For this card I just used white cardstock and shimmery silver cardstock from Papertrey Ink.  There are many layers on this card--8 or 9 I think which brings in the dimension.  For texture I used a brand new Tim Holtz embossing folder (regal flourishes) which I just love!  I used SB nestabilities (Labels 8) to cut out the 2 elegant shapes behind Tilda--I traced the larger one with a silver Spica marker and the smaller one got outlined with stardust Stickles.  One of the edges of the white cs on the card also got outlined in the Stickles as well.  I wrapped the middle with silver ribbon, I left off the bow because it would've looked too busy.

This lil' beauty is colored with Copics (C grays for the dress) and I added stardust Stickles to the silver parts of her dress and headband so they were super sparkly.

The flowers are a mix of white roses, white flowers (from the wedding section in Michaels) layered together.  Then I snipped off sections of the white chandelier glass garden flowers (buy here) and placed them beside the flowers.  I used Scor-Tape and glue dots to arrange them the way I wanted.

Just a side view to show the dimension---I used thin and thick dimensionals for different levels of dimension.  I just love how this one turned out---so pretty!  Hope you like it too!  Would you like to win this image and a bag of beautiful ribbons & pearls?  Leave me a comment and tell me "If you won the lottery, what would be the first thing you did with the money?"---you can enter for this Blog Candy until Friday, June 18th!

Have a wonderful day and I'll see you back here on Tuesday!

The first thing I would do if I won the lottery would be to put enough of it aside for taxes and then buy each of my two boys a house.

Love your card. It is so elegant, & soft. You do wonderful work.

I have thought on this for yrs. & first would make sure grand-daughters college was all pd. for, then pay off sons home, next divide the rest up between hubby's sister, 3 brothers, & us(hoping have enough for full-time rv'ing motor coach), niece, & brother on my side(only family left on my side)would just get enough as needed. Would also like to have everyone who receives money to put what they can into a charity of their choice. That's about it.

If I won lotto I would buy a holiday house at the beach that my whole family could gather at, brothers, sister, spouses, my Mum and Dad and of course all the kids....to allow us to spend more time together in a beautiful location that inspires plenty of R&R. 17. This is just adorable! I love white cards too...though have not attempted to make one myself.

I would love to win this image. If I won the lottery I would give some money to my Mum and Dad so they could retire now, I would buy a house, put a split system air con in my grandparents house, that would be to begin with...Then I would start thinking about what to do with the rest...probably invest it ( so we would be set up for life) and give some to charity. I am thinking that would have to be a big amount of money to do all of that! Wouldn't it be nice!

Only wish I could create like you!....If I won the lottery I think I would take my kids on a trip to America to experience a different way of life and to go to Disneyland, but I think that I would enjoy that more that they would! And we could escape our winter and see your summer!

  89. I have thought about this often. I would do so many thing...pay off bills, set up the family/parents/grandma for the future, quit work (help train a replacement though), buy a new car, give to charities. The possibilities are endless. You made a lovely card & your daughter is just beautiful!

  90. Your daughter is stunning! Loved watching the slideshow.

The card is gorgeous! Love the all white with just the color on the image. Beautiful.

If I won the lottery hmm...
well, I think first I would give 10% to church, then I would move my folks closer (they live 10 hours away). Then I would buy hubs a new vehicle for work. Then, give % to my kids and rest of the family. I would have some much needed surgery and then lastly, take the family on a trip. Whatever was leftover I would use to put new flooring in my house and blow the rest on crafting supplies, tools, etc.

  99. Your daughter looks so grown up. And the poses...yep, so grown up looking.

If I won a lottery. I have told my hubby. if I won the lottery of at least $50,000., I would buy him a new well. He has not like the way the well was drilled 7 years ago and complains all the time about it. Next, pay off some bills and invest the rest for rainy day funds. Retirement is one 8 years away. The extra funds would make our retirement much easier. Oh...I forgot, a nice donation would be made to the private school my son went to. I could almost see him come into ow at the school. OK ten invest the rest!!!!!

  100. Beautiful Daughter. I love having a daugher. Also, WONDERFUL card. Sure wish I was a creative as you. And if I won the lottery I have a list a mile long, but the very first thing would probably donate to the Americian Cancer Society. Then find a house somewhere warm to go to in the winter months. I hate cold weather!!

  101. Your daughter is so like her Mum and you must be very proud of her!

I love your all white card - it's so effective and I would probably never have thought of creating a card that's all white.

If I won the lottery, I would buy a house with a huge room that I could have properly fitted out as a craft room instead of squeezing everything into my spare bedroom that I also have to use as an office!

  102. I have often thought about what I would do if I won the lottery. The very first thing I would do is buy my parents a one-story house. They are 80 and 78 and still live in a 2-story house. Next I would buy my 2daughters a house. Pay bills and then have my scrapbook room designed exactly how I want it. Who knows after that.....take copic classes, buy all the "stuff" I want for scrapbooking without thinking twice. Oh well, it is my dream and I can dream it anyway I want. LOL.

We'd probably do lots and lots of golf holidays, travel Canada from coast to coast then travel the US. Could you just imagine the scrapbooking room in the new house???? LOL.
