NewsBitz:
-I am finishing up all my Class 4 work this week so that class will go LIVE on the Color Me Creative Classroom on Saturday. I'm waiting for my new compressor to come so I can finish that last airbrushing video--ack! I will start sending out the invites to those who have pre-paid on Friday night into Saturday. I am going to tally up the amount raised for Unicef and post that on Monday--thanks to all of you that contributed by pre-registering--I appreciate it so much! As promised I will be adding $100 of my own to the final tally as well!
-My pal Susana is contributing $100 to the Unicef Fund so I wanted to send her a special shout-out to thank her for that! Susana also has some new goodies in her store like the new Basic Grey Paper Pads, Prima Fairytale roses and Crafters Workshop Stencils/Templates(these are perfect for creating backgrounds by spritzing, inking and tracing).

Miss Debutante!
This "Princess Tilda" is my most favorite Tilda out of the new Magnolia Fairytale Collection that you can find HERE at Magnolia-licious. I think I always pick the ones that remind me of my daughter when she was younger as my fave--me being melancholy I guess as she seems to be growing up so fast these days (ack I waxed her eyebrows yesterday--teen years might kill me, lol). She danced ballet for many years and I will always think of her as a 5 yr old ballerina doing a curtsy on stage for the first time--she looked just like this little princess! I also think she looks like a little, young debutante don't you think with those gloves and curtsy going on! I used these beautiful papers from "GCD Studios-Ella Blue" --I love blue & browns together too and these are so precious. The large blue flower is from Magnolia (see those beauties here) and the others are from Wild Orchid--the pearl sprays I get in bulk from a wedding online supplier.
The cream trim was done with a larger MS border punch then I inked the edges a bit! I also distressed the edges of my papers with my electric Zutter Distress machine (love that thing). I like to skew my layers a bit too for a little bit more interest and inking all the edges as well.
I colored this lil' beauty with Copics (Clothes-Shoes: B95,B91,B00,B0000,W1,E43,E42,E41,E50/Hair: E35,YR21,YR20/Skin: E13,E11,E00). I used the W1 to make the blues a little bit more grayer to match the blues in the papers. I also gave her gloves, lace trim and top of her dress with my fave stardust stickles--gotta love pretty bling. Then to bling up her tiara I added some small pearls---her shoes got a coating of diamond glaze. This Tilda is cut out and then popped up on dimensionals for an extra pop!
I like to color my soft shadows behind my images with copics (for this soft shadowing I used BG0000,W00,W1,B00)---in Class 3 on my Online Copic Classroom I teach you how to do this. But when I cut my images out like I have with the above Tilda (I like the added dimension on the card) I still give shadows on the underneath paper (see above). I just put the cut-out Tilda on top of my paper and dot softly around the image one time, pull the Tilda away and then make the rest of my shadows. Then to finish this off, I use my Inkssentials Blending Tool (a tool I use EVERYDAY and my pal Marti stocks them HERE--get extra sponges too) to ink around the edges and softly blend towards the copic shadows (I did this with SU Soft Sky inkpad). So if you're not into watercoloring or don't have the time (like me) this is a great and fast alternative and looks lovely!
Alrighty that's it for me today--make sure to stop by tomorrow, I'm guest designing for Pixie Cottage Stamps for the day!!

PS. I'm with you re exercising too.
Suzanne,
ReplyDeleteYour card is beautiful! I love the shades of blue! And about exercise -- have you tried zumba? It is similar to an aerobics class, but also includes dance steps. It really is alot of FUN! Yes, FUN! (And I don't like exercise either!) But don't go by what you google on the internet about zumba. If you're interested, visit a class to see what it's really like. I love it! Maybe you will, too! :)
Wow Suzanne, this is gorgeous! I love the colors and this is My favorite Tilda ATM! Beautiful layout. Thanks for the shadowing info. Beautiful job!
ReplyDeleteWoW...this card is just stunning! Fab colouring and layout. I luv the colour scheme.
ReplyDeletexoxo,
Lori
Absolutely stunning. Love the various techniques combined to make a fabulous impact.
ReplyDeleteI must start following some of your online lessons!
Thanks for sharing.
Great card! I HATE exercising too. I know people who love to do it. I suggest they go see a therapist because there is nothing fun about it. Try the Wii fitness sytem. The exercising still sucks but it sucks a little less. You would think at 64 I wouldn't care anymore but no......I'm gonna be the fittest corpse in the funeral parlour. Hmm, might have been a little gloomy there but I meant it as a joke. I'm going out fighting!!
ReplyDeleteI love Tilda's and this new one is soo very cute. Like the way you colored her too. I also hate to exercise but am not as motivated as you are. I hate looking in the mirror, but don't do anything about it. Keep it up gal. Edna
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card, Suzanne! Love the color combination of soft blues and browns. Your card always have the most lovely embellishments. Kudos to you for keeping up the exercise regime. I really need to get back to exercising myself. Not only do you look better but you feel better and have more energy.
ReplyDeleteLove the elegancy of this card and the embellies you picked for this is so wonderful Suzanne. LOL, I got that distressing tool on Mother's Day and tried it once. It was dusty, but fun to use :o)
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Cabio
This is GORGEOUS!
