Magnolia-licious Blog Hop!!
Today the Magnolia-licious DT has a fun blog hop for you and we've all used the same stamp "Right Through My Heart" from Magnolia-licious. You can find all the blog hop details (including how to join in on the fun for some fabulous prizes) on the Magnolia-licious Highlites Blog HERE. I decided I wanted to go over to the WILD SIDE with this stamp to show how you can use it for a multi-tude of things! This time it's funky fun using my favorite animal print and colors (hmmm....matches my craftroom, coincidence I think NOT, lol) for a card and a fun matching purse!!
So I pulled out some zebra paper from my stash and my favorite colored cs from PTI (aqua mist) to create a WILD SIDE card! I had bought a bag of feathers from the craft store awhile back, so I was happy to see some black feathers were included. I distressed the edges of my zebra paper then skewed the layers for a more funky look--not so perfect!! The sentiment is from PTI's Handwritten Notes" which is one of my faves and it says "Listen to the whispers of your heart"--dontcha' just love that! And the big bow was made with my Bow Easy. Those black pearls were made with my black pearl pen from Viva Decor--I love making my own pearls whatever size I need them to be and you can use the Gloss Gel Pens to create pearls as well (see here for both).
This stamp is so cute--I love Tilda as a little warrior, but when you stamp her she doesn't have an arrow in her hand thru the bow! Strange huh--so I made her an arrow with a toothpick that I colored with my black copic and attached some white feathers to the end of the arrow. I also restrung her bow with a scrap of Scrappers Floss. The bow was coated with diamond glaze for some shine. I also colored her lil' bag of arrows like zebra print and then gave it a coat of diamond glaze as well (and there are a lot of stickles thrown in too). Hey, my warrior gal is FUNKY FABULOUS!!
And lemme tell ya there is nothing better than a funky fabulous ZEBRA PURSE to go along with the card (yes, I know I have a few real ones myself, hee hee). You can find a great purse template on the Scor-Pal site HERE. My purse has a magnetic closure so you could add some small treats and gifts or a gift certificate inside. I added some more fun feathers, a Prima pearl center to the closure and ribbon handle. I had a ton of fun creating this project and I hope you had fun viewing it too!
Now for the next stop of this fabulous Blog Hop you need to hop over to Becca's Blog HERE (her post goes up at 6 am est)--so if you are hopping before 6 am make sure and stop back by her blog cuz' she always have something fabulous for you to see. While you're waiting hop on over to Claudia's blog HERE. And don't forget to stop by the Magnolia-licious Highlites Blog to see the rest of the hop details and join in on the fun!!
Have fun hoppin' and I'll see you back here tomorrow with a Gina K Blog Hop!!
So very cute and gorgeous Suzanne. Lovely card with beautiful coloring and that purse is as wonderful :o)

Love it - the feathers add a real sense of drama.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card and purse, Suzanne! Great work with the arrow. It is weird that she doesn't have one!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Love the colour combo! Sure is stange that she's about to shoot nothing! Love the toothpick!!
ReplyDeleteI think your daughter and her mates will come sneaking and giggling back inside around 1:25am... just late enough to wake you after you've finally nodded off!! Good luck xx
2:15 a.m. :-)
ReplyDeleteLove all the girly projects!
Suzanne I love the wild side of your project! Love Tilda's zebra arrow holder and the arrow that you made her! The purse is just as cute as can be love the feathers on both.

Love it!! So funky and fabulous!!
ReplyDeleteThese are so cute!! I predict your daughter will venture back in around 2 a.m.! Maybe they'll surprise you and last all night!!
ReplyDeleteGreat card and purse! My bets on 5:25am!
ReplyDeleteBoas, zebra print, and Tilda - oh my! Great project!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card and project!
ReplyDeleteYour daughter might surprise you. Usually it is in the wee hours of the morning when all they get tired and go to sleep (if they go to sleep) and everything gets too quiet for her. I will guess 3:30am.
I love the color combo-it really stands out!
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing that your daughter and friends will drag themselves inside around 3 a.m. I think that having friends with her, she may last longer than if she was alone or with just one other person.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute card and little purse.... I love the feathers...
ReplyDeleteI am guessing that they will be in around 3:15 am......
Love it!! Love the zebra print with Aqua Mist how cute this.
ReplyDeleteAs for your DD's sleep over I am going to say you can find them coming in around 2:30 am

ReplyDelete2 am tops! HAHA
ReplyDeleteGirls are so funny! I never slept outdoors..and I am not looking forward to! HAHA
Your creation is fabulous as always. Glam!
Anary
What a funky card. Love what you did with the feather and the arrow. I always thought the arrow had been shot and that is why it wasn't there. Who knows. I am so with your dd on the camping experience - been there, done that, don't want to do it again. My guess is that they will last until 2:00 am - you have to have time to talk and laugh outside before reality hits.
ReplyDeleteLove the purse it is FAB.
ReplyDeleteSuzanne this is adorable ! I love the take you used on this sketch and as always your coloring is awesome .... great idea on the tooth pick my have to use that on mine.
ReplyDeleteHugs
I'll guess 1:45 am before they pack it in...
ReplyDeleteLove the card and purse! You always are thinking outside the box; what a great idea to use it for treats or gift certificate!
Hope you are feeling better... take care and rest!
Suzanne this is so adorable hun! Love the beautiful gift set! Those colors ROCK!!! And your altering of Tilda is PERFECTO! Love it!!!
ReplyDeleteAs for your daughter...I think she will be in at 10PM because they will be bored off of their rockers! lol! I too am like your daughter and so NOT an outdoorsy girl either! lol!
Hugs~ Kim
Suzanne! What a funky fabulous card!! I just love it! I love your color choices and the feathers too!! And that purse! Wow, I could just go on and on, LOL!
ReplyDeleteHope you are feeling better today. And thank you for all the nice comments you have left on my blog, I really appreciate them!

Opps!! I forgot to leave my time estimate for your daughter!! I'm going with all night!!
ReplyDeletehugs,

Suzanne,
ReplyDeleteOh My! This has got the be the cutest creation I've seen! I LOVE the colors you've chosen and the feathers! Especially the one at the end of her bow! Great attention to detail!! How fun!!
Thanks for sharing,
Jessica Hammond
Now, that is funny.... my guess is 1:33. Great card and purse. Love all the detail.
ReplyDeleteThis is too cute, love the feathers. That purse is just awesome! You are sooo crafty!
ReplyDeleteHope you're feeling better soon. I think you're daughter will make it until 1:15am I had to laugh about the arrow. I had just told my daughter she didn't have one and it was just wrong and she commented she had already shot it because the string wasn't pulled back. Ahhhhh. Out of the mouths of babes. LOL
ReplyDeleteSuzanne - you rock! Love what you have done here! You have to let your wild side out now and then
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card! The purse is so neat! My guess will be 1:45am:)
ReplyDeleteMichelle
Very beautiful project.
ReplyDeleteYour card is absolutely gorgeous.... I love it......and your purse is the cutest thing...I will have to go and see about making one too....
ReplyDeleteFor your daughter my time will be....when the sun goes down and its start's to get cold...so around...8:30pm......
Ooooh, I love this funky card and purse! It's amazing!! And, I love the idea of using a toothpick for the arrow...very clever!
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing your daughter will come back inside around 1:30am, which is longer than I would last outside in a tent, LOL! Rosemary :)
Wow Suzanne, this is gorgeous! I love the colors and feathers. I thought it was strange the arrow was missing, the string isn't even pulled back. LOL You made is look great! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteOhh... maybe she just shot the arrow?:)
How cute!!!
ReplyDeleteFirst...love the card and purse girlfriend. A little on the 'wild' side. ;-) Great job, and I now see another stamp in my future. LOL
ReplyDeleteOk the camping. Well if DD was campting with me, I'd say all night, as we camp in a 45' motorhome, air, running water, 45" plasma TV, microwave....you get the picture. LOL Tell her to come on down to Myrtle Beach. :-)
But since she is outdoors and not an outdoor person, I will say 2:10. They will probably stay up that late chatting and then get tire and when everyone gets quite, they will probably want to come indoors.
Hubby and I started off with a tent and I absolutely love camping then too. But I was an outdoors person.
Love ya, Pat J
Love the black and white and the bow! It's still getting pretty chilly at night so I will say before midnight. Of course if she has your determination she will stay all night!
ReplyDeleteSuzanne you are so creative I tell ya! This is just so darn cute! I love the aqua with the black. Gorgeous! I hope you feel better soon. As for when your daughter will come in....ummmmm....she may shock you and just stay all night!!!
ReplyDeleteThe card is adorable. I love the zebra paper. As for your daughter - I'm guessing 11:23. Much more for teenagers to do inside.
ReplyDeleteThis card is stunning!
ReplyDeleteI love the aqua colors.
Hugs
Cordine
Very cool project, love the colors of it!
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing your daughter will stay out all night, she'll put on a brave face and she'll be with her friends.
This is super cute. I bet it is looking adorable in your room! I really think your idea with the toothpick is awesome. I would ahve to say that they will be in by 11:33pm lol...Poor kids, I hope thay have fun being scared together. Hugs, Lisa
ReplyDeleteSuzanne, this is gorgeous. I love the colors. What a fantastic card. I'm off to Becca's now.
ReplyDeleteHugs xx
Carolyn
Suzanne your card and purse are too cute. I love the zebra stripes.
ReplyDeleteI think your baby will make it until atleast midnight. So how about 12:16 How uncool is it to come in before midnight? They will start to wind down and have enough junk food by then. Funny. My daughter was prissy too but when it came to being with there friends it is amazing what they can do.
Hugs,
Pam L.
I love it!! Great Zebra design papers and the image is STUNNING!! Xx Marley
ReplyDeleteIt was not that long ago that I was 14 and having sleepover's with girlfriends...I doubt those giggly girls will be asleep before two (especially since they are outside and away from the "rents"). Once they stop gossiping about boys and classmates they will start getting spooked. I'm betting right around 3:00am...lets go for 3:03.
ReplyDeleteLove your creativity and tips on coloring with copics! :)
Great card...I'll say they come in @ 2:50 am
ReplyDeleteOhhh woow...thats absolutly beautiful. I really love it.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Ranita

This is such a fun and creative card and purse set. Love the wild theme that you have going on these and the colors are perfect. Of course they just happen to be one of my favorite color combos as well.
ReplyDeleteAs far as your daughter's camping adventure. I'm going to say that she's going to tough it out til 7:00 AM. I have faith. lol
Suzanne, another winner for you--a wow card--super job and I love the feathers! Great color combo--really pops.

ReplyDeleteAs to your daughter staying in the tent. My guess is she'll be back in the house 12:37am
I am guessing they change their minds and never make it to the tent! You always have the best sense of humor and the most wonderful cards. Thanks for the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteFeel better soon! I bet those girls will be in before 11:45pm...too cold even in your area... Hope there is no rain in the forecast!

Gini

ReplyDeleteHugs,
Marsha
Finally!! I've been waiting for somebody to come up with an arrow! I thought that would be the first thing that everybody would add as an embelishment, but you're the only one. Awesome colouring job. And I love any colour scheme with black and white. Love the matching zebra print for Tilda's arrow case.
ReplyDeleteI cheated a bit and googled the weather forecast for your area. Don't know how accurate your weathermen are...they're predicting thunderstorm. If that's the case, I'm thinking your daughter and friends won't even go out there but will stay in the house...LOL.
Hugs.
Norma
Stunning creations Suzanne, love this Tilda, your detail is wonderful! Guess the girls maybe back in by 1 ish when it the tent starts to leak lol! Hope you are feeling better soon, take careX:)
ReplyDeleteDarling card & purse, Suzanne! Love it & love the Zebra print & feathers.

ReplyDeleteHugs,

Hi Susan!
ReplyDeleteI love your project. Now, I need to learn how to do one myself for my daughter who will turn 10 on the 28th of this month. She is having a sleepover also but not outside. I just had a daughter that turned 14 on the 7th. If your daughter doesn't like to camp I would say the least time will be an hour and max will be 2 hours. Have fun and get well.

I actually sent a reply to your e-mail. Wonder where it went? I think they will run for the house about 10:48, once the bugs get to biting and they cannot last without the facilities and the radio!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous card and purse. I love Tilda's look as a warrior. Usually she's so cute and adorable. LOL! Great new look for her. Let's see. Not a nature girl, huh? I'm going to bet she makes it until after dark so I'll guess 10:24pm. Hope you are feeling better very soon! It awful to be sick when the sun is shining. Take care!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! I just love the feathers!
ReplyDeleteLOL. My guess is that they will come crawling back in at 2:30am.
I love your application of this stamp. You always blow me away with your designs.
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing your daughter will be in the house by 11:00pm - especially if there is a storm brewing.
Love the combination of colors and the coloring is amazing! I bet your daughter comes in around 10:11
ReplyDeleteLove your coloring! I'm guessing your daughter will come inside around 12;50 AM. It might get too cold for them. In any event, they will have a blast! Susan
ReplyDeletelove2trvl@charter.net
Your projects are just so cute and fun! Love the aqua and black together, the Viva Decor pearls, and your coloring of the image is as awesome as ever! My best guess on DD's "camping" out is that they won't make it past 11:15 p.m. They should be about talked out by then and getting uncomfortable! LOL!!
ReplyDeleteI love it!!! I thought the same thing about my daughter's 1st camping adventure outside. Since she's 14, I would have to go a bit later so she hopes you won't notice like say maybe 2:00 a.m. Probably about the time the cell phones will nedd recharged! lol
ReplyDeleteLove the card too! Had a good laugh with that too since it matches your blog header!
Love the card - everytime I see zebra print I think of you. I think your daughter and friends won't be sneaking in...I think they'll walk right in around 12/Midnight when the neighborhood gets quiet and scary.

Hi Suzanne, I think this is one of your tuffest challenges. A girl's camping sleepover usually lasts outside about 2 hours. So if they head out around 10:30 I'll go with 12:30.
ReplyDeleteHope you're feeling better soon. Oh BTW your project is wonderful. Beth.
Hi Suzanne, I love your card and purse just too cute!! I will say your daughter and her friends will make to 4:20am.
ReplyDeleteI predict your daughter will last til 3:36. What fun. Awesome card and purse. Am enjoying the new mag and website and tutorials. Fine work!!

So cute and the way you've laid it out is really different. The feathers give it a special touch.

Finally, someone not only noticed Tilda had no arrow, nor a string on her bow, but you did something about it. Nice Work and attention to details. Feel better soon.
