Fairy Wings
Today is Tuesday so that means it's a Try It Out Tuesday #62 for Susana's Custom Art & Card Design! It's been awhile since I've been able to participate in this challenge with everything I've been trying to get done. I've still got a lot to do, but I'm slowly getting the to-do list under control more, lol! I haven't pulled out one of these beautiful fairies from Faerie Art Song--and I thought today's challenge would be fitting. It's called "Tulips-a-Bloom", use tulip colors on your cards (yellow, red, violet, hot pinks, green)!
This beautiful fairy image is called "Serena & Risa"--although in my mind I call it the mom & daughter fairies, heehee--so pretty! I've colored them with Copics and I used some of that wonderful Basic Grey paper called "Green at Heart"--so pretty! And of course I added some Prima mini-roses with leaves and swirls. The border is a punch from MS--love this border punch and then I've added some pearls to finish it off.
To make her wings really pop I painted the stamped image wings with two colors of Creative Inspiration Shimmer Paints (pixie dust, light purple) then I stamped a second set of wings onto a transparency with Staz-On ink. To make them pop up, I cut slits onto the stamped image with my craft knife, added tabs to the transparency wings and slid them thru the slits. To make them sparkle even more they got a thick coat of Viva Decor Holographic Glitter Liner (10x sparklier than the Stickles I tell ya)!
Now make sure and stop by the Store Blog HERE to see the rest of the DT's fabulous projects and see our two newest designers Heather & Kim as well!

Cupcake Girl
I'm so excited to be guest designing for my friend Amy Leggate's new store called Paper Romance this month! She's got a great offering of stamps and other cardmaking supplies at her store including these cute lil' Fhiona stamps that you can check out HERE. This one is called "Cupcake Cutie Fhiona" and she comes with lil' star accents and lots of sentiments to use. I paired her up with my Basic Grey "Sugar" paper, some fun buttons and American Crafts dotty ribbon! I love the cheery image and colors together--makes ya smile ya know! Make sure and also stop by Amy's Store Blog HERE to get some wonderful inspiration too!
