Vintage Birdie
This card I'm sharing with you today is for this month's Magnolia-licious DT Sketch hosted by DT Gal Jacque Beddingfield. You can find the sketch and the rest of the DT's projects AND how you can enter the fun HERE on the Magnolia-licious Highlites Blog. I used this sweet "Tilda with Birdcage" from Magnolia-licious--I love this image! The papers are all by K&Co. that I distressed heavily with my Tonic Distress Tool.
After distressing and inking the edges of my papers I added a twill ribbon/bow and some stacked Prima flowers/roses. You can find the mini rosebuds HERE and the leaves were done with various punches I had. The sentiment is from PTI's "Handwritten Notes" set and some pearls finish the card off.
She's colored with Copics of course (B95,B91,W1,W3,Colorless Blender/YG63,G20) with some stickles on her dress, a pearl in her bow and some diamond glaze on the birdcage! You can see how I colored this image to look like Distress Inks HERE--my other distress ink/copic tutorial is listed on my tutorials/template page (link at top of blog). I sponged some light green ink onto the grass and then used my copic to create blades of grass for her to stand in. And I used some other copics with my colorless blender to create a soft/watercolor looking background (if you take my copic classes you will learn how to do this, hee hee). Hope you like this cutie as much as me!!?

I would be putting the ball away for a while!! how spoooooooky!!!

Hi Suzanne, I love these cards they are both just so pretty. I too am very excited about your classes. I am kind of a self taught person of Copic land, I make cards(you've seen them on my blog)do you recommend me starting with your first class and working throught them? I am leaning towards yes, as I don't want to miss any of it. lol....As for the ball I think I would get rid of it. It would be too much stress on my system to never know when your ghost dog was going to show up. Maybe she doesn't want to share her ball...???? Have a great day. I get pain on the 9th and I am so going to send you my money. Lisa G

As usual, your cards are gorgeous. I love the Maggie with the bird...it's an image I've been eyeing up for a while and your card is tempting me to run to Diana's store! LOL. I believe in ghosts of pets and people...I was skeptical until my husband died in September. Then some things happened that just weren't explainable any other way. There's also been some stuff that points to our siamese that died in 2006. I figure it's nice to have guardian angels (real or imagined! LOL). Gina L

That Tilda is just amazing! I am waiting for my first Magnolias to arrive and she is one of them. Don't know If I will ever be able to colour like you though, (insert desperate sigh here!)
ReplyDeleteI too have a 'visitor', mine is not a pet, I think it could be my mother, but I am not sure. She puts lights on and off and plays with the radio. When I start talking to her, she stops. I think she is just coming to say hello because I miss her so much. Kinda reassuring, not scary at all. Does that make me crazy?
