I'm getting my hair done on Wednesday--yay--I think my roots are 10 ft. long now, LOL! I like to have my hair cut but I'm just too antsy to sit in the chair for very long so I don't get it highlighted very often--my ADD setting in, LOL, plus I don't likee the smell! I know most people like to get pampered & get their hair done, but it's just not really my thing, hee hee! A little bit of my tomboy still lingering with me I guess. Hey, waxing hurts and haircolor smells!! And girlies don't even get me started on my nails--the horror! They always wear a nice coat of whatever medium I'm working in--glitter, stickles, glue & black ink, hee hee! I always envy those of you who have nice nails, I've tried but it's useless cuz' they're always chipped & broken a day later! The only thing I really like to get done are massages--those I could have everyday, LOL, but only manage maybe twice a year! So what are your favorite pampering things you like to get done? Or are you like me and just never seem to pull off the whole pampering thing? (although I would NEVER leave the house w/o makeup, GASP, people would be frightened, hee hee)

-Susana's Custom Art & Card Design is on vacation until Friday of this week, so you can window shop but no buying until Friday while she's on vacation, 'kay!
-Have you seen the fun new Penny Black SlapStick stamps yet HERE! They're etched rubber but have the image on the backside so it makes alignment super easy! Cute too!

Jingle Bells
Jingle Bells
Today I have a few Christmas projects for you to hopefully get you inspired--only like 50 days until Christmas--ACK! This card uses a fabulous image from I Brake For Stamps called "Large Bells" (there is a smaller one too)--remember if you want to place an order there, use the coupon code "SAVE10SUZANNE" to get 10% off your entire order!! I love the elegant feel of this stamp don't you? I colored with Copics and this layout is this week's Mojo Monday Sketch #111--fun one! I embossed my red cs with a new Cuttlebug folder called "Victoria" which I just LOVEEE! That pretty holly border was done with a MS border punch I got at Michaels--it's so delicate & pretty! I created a bow with this fabulous gold-wired ribbon and added a Prima Jewel Flower Center to the center--these are fab to put on your bows and/or flowers!
I colored my images with Copics of course, added stickles to the leaves and greenery and liquid pearls to the berries. To really make the bells stand out, I added a nice thick coat of diamond glaze to them. Hope you like it too!

Santa Gnome Favors
OMGoodness, as soon as I saw these cute lil' Santa gnomes from Bildlamarna I just had to have them--my friend Nikki has them in her store HERE! SHHHHHhhh, but I have a slight Santa fetish, hee hee---I love them all and the cuter the better! I love his lil' squat self and big nose, lol--too cute! Today on SCS they're doing a holiday tutorial on making matchbook favors--but I did mine yesterday & of course I had to make my own dimensions to fit my image & candy :o) So this set is a 4x4 card and a matchbook candy favor!I colored this "Santa w/ Lantern" with copics, added some stickles and puffed liquid applique to his hat trim! The sentiments on both are from the PTI set "Vintage Ornaments"! So cute he is!
So my lil' matchbook holds 2 Starburst candies inside, but would also fit any other smaller candies too! Wouldn't these be great for treats for kids or a special party at your house--they're very easy to make & put together!
Hope you were inspired just a bit today! I'll be back tomorrow with some 'animal fun' projects for ya!
I love your crafty ways! I am not a pampery kind of gal either - I never have time :) Like you, my nails are beyond fancy treatment :) I always have inky fingers, a chipped nail...
ReplyDeletealthough I would like a massage every day...
Cheers!
Kristen
I love the poinsettia card. That is beautiful. The little santas are cute and live the idea of sticking a couple of candies in the middle although I would probably choose chocolate to put in them. No pampering for this kid. No money no time and it just isn't me. Although I could stand a few massages and now that my dd has gone through a course in massage therapy maybe I can get some.
ReplyDeleteMe too..I love your crafty ways!!!
ReplyDeleteThis project is just too cute!
Christine

Hi Suzanne. I love your cards..It amazes me how you can put together something so beautiful and something so darn cute. What fun. As for me I hate the nail salons...PU! However, until we got our pool this last summer and then I started stamping all of my spare time I would paint my own nails. I was given natually long and according to my family pretty nails. For now they are just long with clear polish because I don't want to work on a card and end up smudging red polish onto it...lol...How weird can I get. Have a great day, Lisa G
ReplyDeleteWow! Jingle Bells. Wow!

Happy Anniversary, early! We must be fraternal twins- lol! I love pampering! I have been highlighting my hair since I was 15! But, I only have it done about 3-4 times a year- roots aren't that dark! I do have fake nails- pink and white-always look good and the inks, etc that I always have my hands in do not ruin them! I do get my eyebrows waxed periodically too! Wish I had time for facials and massages, but I don't! :)
ReplyDeleteyour cards are beautiful! ~Tori
Hey girl, you are not the only one who gives her husband a store-bought card. He loves to complain that I make cards for everyone else but not him.
ReplyDeleteYou are correct though that some cards say more than I can ever say in a card.

Awesome projects! I love that bell image, but I have to admit that it scares me...so much detail!! But you did a fav job (of course).
ReplyDeleteTo answer your question...I HAVE to get my hair done. I am about halfway grey (early grey runs in my family...although my 40 year old sister who is older than me has about 5 greys...no fair) so I get my hair died every 5 weeks. I don't like it...I have to! What I LIKE to do to get pampered is a spa pedicure (with massage chair) and full body massages (although I am lucky to get that once every 2 years)!!

Ditto, ditto, ditto. Hair cuts are fine...forget the nails...can't pick anything up! LOL! Only when it's a very special occasion I will get them done and can't wait to get them off! Lovely card and matchbook candy holder. How can you create so many wonderful projects in such a short time? It would take me over a day...ADD! Hugs, Cami
ReplyDeleteGreat work as usual Suzanne!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colours in the first card.
Love the little candy holder.
Happy Anniversary! :o)
Hugs, Candy
Ditto, I'm not into the pampering thing; in fact, I don't even wear makeup most of the time! not that I dont' need to! LOL But, massages...that's a different story, that's HEALTH, not pampering LOL
ReplyDeleteBeautiful creations Suzanne! WOW, you no likey the pamperness huh? I am a total salon girl...I think I could live there....and it really helps having my own personal stylist...I am so spoiled...my sister is a hairstylist! :) I love the colors, highlights, cutes, but of course I am with you as massages are my ultimate FAVORITE! :)
