Two Scoops Please!!

Happy September 17th my friends!! I want to run a poll and ask everyone "how much sleep to do you usually get a night" and "at what age do you start sleeping again?", LOL! I swear I could go on vacation and sleep for the ENTIRE week & not feel guilty about it either! No LIE! I'm such a poor sleeper anyhow (chronic insomniac) and then having a child with asthma/breathing issues does not help. I sleep with one ear to the door most nights making sure he's sleeping, hearing every cough & wheeze--I feel like I have an infant again (oh lordy no, two kids is enuff for me, hee hee)! I average 4-5 hours a night if I'm lucky & it's just not enuff' anymore--my ole' body is feeling it for sure and I'm not able to get as much done which is a BIG PROBLEM! My engine needs some gas I tell ya, lol! And I've started my new Dan Brown book which kept me up beyond a reasonable bedtime as well :o) Who can resist the draw of a fabulous book--not me!! Anywho, here's to wishing me and you a good nite's sleep tonight!

**************************************

Today I have a fabulously fun project to share with you that I just ADORE (YILM)! I love the colors, layout & image, so fun! This is a new stamp sold by CC Designs in a set or singly called "Kiki LaRue's" that you can buy HERE and I think they are just too cute! (Christine keeps making them cuter & cuter I tell ya)! The card layout is from yesterday's SCS sketch #246 and the papers are by Memory Box's Sugar Collection(I don't think it's available for sale anymore, bummer). I love the patterns & colors in these papers! The cute ice-cream is bubbles--aren't they fab? I picked a few up at Michaels or AC Moore awhile back knowing that a stamp would come along that would be perfect to use with them! I made a band around the middle w/ paper and then added some fun May Arts ribbon (double sided) and a fun tag made w/ my nesties! This would be such a great gift for a young girl's birthday or party favors!!

The SCS layout is so fun & perfect for so many cards--I will be using it again for sure! I added some diamond stickles to her headband, cherry & bowtie; diamond glaze to her shoes, eyes & chocolate ice cream scoop. The ribbon is from PTI and the bow was made w/ my fabulous Bow Easy--flowers are small Primas with Bella Bauble centers! The heart charm is from my stash but find similar ones right HERE. If you love this it's for sale on my Etsy shop which is sadly mostly empty so I gotta get around to fillin' it back up, hee hee! (I have the supplies to make one more, so if you REALLY want one & it's already sold, just email me--1st come)

Suzanne

  2. What a sweet sweet card! The colors are perfect I love it!
On your sleep poll I average about 4 to 5 hours of sleep myself. I wish I could sleep more but just can't sleep good any more for some reason.
    Hugs,

  6. OH MY WORD. I just got these cuties in the mail. Don't you just love saying Kiki La Rue? lol...Sorry got lost there. Anyway your Kiki is just adorable. I'm not sure I will put one on my blog now. I don't think she would be half as cute. Super-super job! I just love your work. I think we should start a club of NO Sleep MOMs...I tend to be up till after 12 AND get back up for the day at 5am. My husband says I have to quit doing that, as does my body but so much to take care of. lol...Have a great day Suzanne, Lisa G

  8. Love your card. So sweet and perfect for a sweet little birthday girl. Sleep...hmmmm what is that?? LOL I tend to get my best sleep in the recliner after I get up from the night. I too am a night owl. Bed time last night was 2 AM. I have recently been diagnosed with sleep apnea and am getting adjusted to my Cpap machine. I am STILL waiting for my supposedly "good restful" sleep night waking up "rested". However I must admit (I guess) that it is getting better than it was when I frist slept with it. I look like an airplane pilot geared up to take flight. LOL So hey girlfriend, wanna talk late at night or early am, give me a call. :-) Hugs, PatJ

  10. Hi Suzanne! Love your card. This image is so adorable and you colored her beautifully!

As I read the beginning of your post I almost felt like I wrote it. I sleep, at most, 4 hours and seldom straight through the night. Maybe because I'm a worrier...? I look over at my husband sleeping peacefully and want to jab him with my finger so he can be awake with me. LOL!!!

  15. Hi Suzanne! I LOVE this card she is so sweet!! The DP is so sweet! Sleep is HORRIBLE in my house. I have to get up at 4am for work but I don't get home until 6:30pm. By the time I am home I want to talk to my DH and between that, showering, dinner and getting ready for bed, I have to force myself to go to sleep when I'm not ready at 8:30. I have to take sleeping pills in order to get to sleep but they don't keep me asleep like they're suppose to. I wake up at least min of 2 times a night. Sometimes as much as 6. I've been doing this for 5 years. My husband doesn't sleep well because he's paranoid of waking me up so he sleeps in another bedroom. We're 38 and have no kids and we're sleeping in separate beds. Not nice. So I get maybe 4 hrs of solid sleep and after that it's a crapshoot. BUT!! I am happy to say we are soon changing our "lifestyle" and no more long days and short nights. (OH I work in a mine). We are moving and will be working 8am - 5:30 and being our own bosses. The business may not change but our sleeping habits will! YAY!!

  16. Love the card! And it looks like we are all chronically sleep deprived. I count myself lucky to get six hours. Even on weekends I am up by 5am!

I just picked up the new Dan Brown book as well...trying NOT to read it until the weekend though since I won't put it down until it is finished!

  17. This card is absolutely adorable! So cute and I love the colors! When I was young, I could sleep as soon as my head touched the pillow. Now, it's hard for me to get more than 5 or 6 hrs (and I'm retired! lol). Maybe it's because I'm thinking of the next card to make?.....

  18. What a sweet card this is. Love the colors, the layout and the image. I feel your pain about not sleeping just now. Only my problem isn't the kids but the dog who hates to sleep in her cage and howls.

  19. What a fab card! I love that color combo too! I am finally averaging about 7 hours per night but lately if I want to get any crafting done I'm going to have to give up sleep. Today after work I had to do a kitchen sink full of tomatoes. My kids aren't little any more, thank goodness but I remember sleepless nights when all three were little. Been there, done that, and don't want to go back. LOL! Hoope your situation improves soon!

  20. I suffer from insomnia also, so I found a job I work 3pm-3am. The other four nights I just stay up and work on my business and I seem to get a lot done that way. I fall asleep around 5am get up at 7am to get my daughter ready for school and then lay back down for 3 or 4 more hours. But it does make you old before your time to sleep like that.
    Love the card.

  21. Super-cute card! I get about 6 hours of sleep a night! I too, have an asthmatic child (he is 4) and I keep a baby monitor in my scrap room (upstairs) and one in my room, so I can listen for any trouble. He only has episodes at night and always starts crying before they happen. I am not sure when I will sleep more. I am a night owl, staying up until 11-11:30 every night and getting up at 5:30 to start getting my 3 kiddos ready for school.

  22. Very cute card! But 4-5 hours of sleep is not enough...put the book down!! I have asthma, and luckily my kids don't. I have mine under control with daily pills...but it was much worse when I was a child. But as an adult, I was diagnosed with "allergy induced asthma" so as long as my allergy meds are going, I am in good shape! Anyway, I get about 6-7 hrs a night and THAT is not enough for me...I am an 8 hour girl...10 on the weekend!! I die by 2pm if I don't get at least 7!!

  23. Oh, she's just too stinkin cute! Love the ice cream cone with her and you're right - it's perfect for her! Love the paper too!

I went for a long time not sleeping right after my divorce and I was lucky to get 2 hours at a stretch. It took me about 5 years to be able to sleep and every month I get to sleep more and more. And I don't feel guilty about it either! I'm up to about 6-8 hours a night but that's with working 2 jobs. I'm shooting for 7-8 hours a night when I get to Florida for which I have started packing! Hope Riley's asmatha settles down so you can get some rest. I'd hate to tell you to stay away from the good books but I'm right there with you on them! Hang in there, my dear. Now that the kids are back in school, take a day or two and get an hours nap. They always help.

    Big hugs to you,

    Susan, aka One Hot Momma!

  24. Hi Suzanne! Was referred to your blog by my friend and just LOVE what you do! My child who is 14 grew up and still has asthma. I still sleep only 4-5 hours a night and have a full day myself! I start my day at 3:00 a.m. and work full time. I travel by public transportation so takes me about 45 mins each way...I guess that's where I catch up on some zzzz's. I try to read, but I fall asleep! I still find time though to create and blog! My child also suffers from sinus and acid reflux, so I'm up til he falls asleep. Glad to know there are other women out there who live the same crazy life! Aloha! Teri
