Today's card was made yesterday using this week's SCS Sketch 221 which was a fun if not a slightly challenging one! I used my new PTI set "Life" (which is a gorgeous set) and paired it with this yummy dp from My Mind's Eye (Laundry Line). I stamped the flower image a couple of times in PTI's aqua mist & SU's sage shadow--and then went back in with the small flower bud stamp in Palette Cream ink. The border was done w/ a Fiskars border punch and the pearls are Kaiser. I took my Diamond Glaze and globbed it on (technical term, hee hee) and while it was wet sprinkled some fine glitter on top. I really like it--and I think its so pretty!
**Edited to Add--because so many of you asked nicely, I have made this Copic Hair chart into a pdf file that you can download & print. You can find it on my sidebar under Copic pdf files--Hair colors!**
I have had so many people ask for hair color recommendations that I decided to color up a bunch of heads (lol) with my favorite color combo's for ya! This is my own personal colors that I use--there are many more combo's out there I'm sure, but I use these the most :o) (CLICK on picture to make larger) **NOTE--all my Copic Tutorials in both video & PDF form are on my right sidebar here on my blog**
Dark Brunette--E25, E49, E53, E59
Auburn/Red--E13, E17, E18, E19

"What was the best birthday present you ever recieved?"
OH my goodness, am I the first commenter? Cool! Well, my best bday prestent was when my husband asked me to marry him. It was my18th birthday and he got down on his knee in the rain. It was so romantic! We've ben married for 8 years now, have three kiddos, and lots more years of happiness to look forward to!
ReplyDeleteHi Suzanne! Gorgeous candy, really love to win it!
ReplyDelete2 years ago on my Bday was sick, and went to the doctor and he told me that I am pregnant, so that was my best present for Bday! :) I was so happy that I started to cry! Have a nice weekend! Hugs, Moni
Hi ^_^
ReplyDeletemmm I think that the best birthday present ever received was... my cat! *_*
I really wanted a red female cat, so my husband adopted my actual cat, Dakota.
But I've had sooo many beautiful presents in my life... I'd like to remember also my microscope ^_^
The best birthday present I've gotten was for my 30th birthday, about 15 of us went to the melting pot to eat. We took up 4 different tables and had so much fun.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the hair samples -- I will definitely be checking your tutorials out.
ReplyDeleteI have two favorites:
My husband (then boyfriend) gave me a diamond tennis bracelet for my 30th birthday, which we were celebrating in Jamaica. I already knew he was a keeper before then, but definitely after that.
My other favorite is a sentimental favorite -- my dad (who is no longer with us) gave me a little desk fan for my 11th birthday. That little fan still works 25 years later. I laugh every time it sputters to get started each summer.
Suzanne, thank you so much for the hair color information...that is priceless. The best birthday present I ever received was a memorable trip to Lake Tahoe...the rest of that story stays in Lake Tahoe...lolol
ReplyDeleteooo what fabby candy! We don't do big pressies for birthdays and because mine is in the spring I usually get plants for the garden - the most stunning being the star magnolia from my sons which is now quite a big tree! hugs, annie x
ReplyDeletewow, i'm 7th in line this time. Last time i was in the hundreds. Guess that just means i'm online early today. ahahahaha. My favorite birthday gift was this past year. My hubby had always been awful about birthdays for me. He had NEVER gotten me a card or a cake in the entire time he's known me. When i told him this, he didnt believe me then he realized i was right. So he threw me a big surprise party and got me a cake for every single year he's known me! I had cake covering my kitchen and had to send a cake home with everyone!
ReplyDeleteMy husband asked me to marry him the day before my 21st birthday. That was very special!! Best birthday gift ever!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the copic hair colours...thank you!!

Hi Suzanne, Thank you so much for the hair colors! My favorite birthday present isn't really a present. My family gets together and celebrates birthdays as more of a get together. I cherish these times more and more as my parents, siblings, hubby, children and I get older.
ReplyDeleteWow Suzanne this card is absolutely amazing!!! I love the soft greens and browns and that Kaiser paper is incredible!!! So, so gorgeous!!! i love teh way you added the flower soft to the flowers! That stuff is amazing and you are incredible at using it! Such a great layout as well!!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for includeing the hair color chart1 You have no idea how helpful that is! It is going straight into my resource file!
ALright my best birthday present ever has to be my daughters first professional pictures! They arrived shortly after my birthday and it was so fun to see her beautiful face!
Smiles,
janna
Love your card. And the hair chart is awesome. My favorite present was on my 15th birthday, I got a cool new saddle with lots of silver on it. Kind of corny now looking back, but boy did I love that saddle!
ReplyDelete"What was the best birthday present you ever recieved?"
ReplyDeleteWow - another awesome blog giveaway!
I think my best birthday present was my cricut. Birthdays have never been a big thing to me, but I gathered my birthday money up one year to buy my cricut and never regretted it since!
Melissa
mokoko123@aol.com
My best birthday was a few years ago when we spent our birthday in Disney World. I say we because my husband and I share the same birthday, 7 years apart. We went with 2 other couples. It was an amazing time.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThis MME paper has such a wonderful look and I love this design. Love how you globbed your glaze too...see, I learn so much from you...now I too can use "technical" terms!!! lol
Thanks for doing the hair colors, that was brilliant!
I was trying to think about the best birthday present ever and even though I've seen alot of birthday parties I can't really think of any specific...what I do remember are the gathering with all my friends & family. So my best would have to be the people who bless me just be being there!
I love that every day of the year!!!
I posted a sweet pix of your candy in what turned out to be a SCACD themed post today!
Have a fabulous day Suzanne!
blessings, Maria
It is impossible to top some of the best birthdays already listed, but I am going to go with when my husband who I was dating at the time gave me a TV that was much bigger than the one had, not only because it was a great gift, but the unspoken significance of I am going to keep coming around and sharing that TV with you, and we did and 16 years later have purchased other TVs together. Love the blog candy, what fun, and all your great cards and the tutorials. Have a great day.
ReplyDelete-Tracy
I'd say my best birthday present would have been when a bunch of kids from high school planned a surprise 18th birthday party! They had it all planned out including me riding there in a blindfold! :)
ReplyDeleteLove the color charts Suzanne. Thank you for the tutorials. I have one set of the copics and now I am going to have to have them all!!!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite birthday present would have to be the year my girls each made me a card with their handprints on them. They are priceless.
I love purple! It's probably my next favorite color, after pink (my fave). Not sure what my "best" present was, but I got stamps for my birthday this year. That's a great present for me!! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the hair coloring samples! I will have to give them a try soon.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite birthday present is a lovely garnet ring DH gave me while we were dating. It is made of rose gold, and has an antique style vine and berry design forming the band. It is just beautiful, and I was really touched that he picked out something that was so me.
Suzanne you have out done yourself. Thanks for the tutorial on hair colors.
ReplyDeleteLet's see the best birthday present I ever recieved would have to be my daughter Kyla. She wasn't born on my birthday but she was only 2 weeks old when I celebrated it. Seeing her sleeping in her moses basket as my friends through a surprise party for me was the best thing ever.
HAPPY BLOGANNIVERSARY!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card.
Thank you for the hair color tips.
My favorite birthday present hmmmm i want to be honest, I don't remember, i'm always the person that organize the birthdays, make surprises, etc.
Have a good weekend
My best birthday ever -- honestly, I hope it is this year. My husband has been informed that since I am turning 30 on the 30th that I expect a party. I also hope to complete my Copic collection :D
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card. I never use more than one ink and really need to, I love the way the sentiment is in two inks. Thank you so much for posting the different hair colors, that really helps to see them and the colors that are used for them. I'm getting ready to order more copics and it helps to know which colors blend so well together. What a great blog candy! Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteMy best Birthday present was my 2nd baby boy. He was born a week before my birthday. My first baby boy was my best Christmas present, and my baby girl was my best Easter present. =D
ReplyDeleteMy best birthday present was my sister getting married on my birthday. It was such an honor to share my special day with her. I always tease my bil that at least he has me to remind him of his anniversary
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous card! And I love that border punch.
ReplyDeleteMy best birthday present was a painting my mother did of my cat who had passed away just before my birthday. It immediately brought me to tears.
Thanks for the chance to win some great candy again!
WOW, those colors in that card is amazing!
ReplyDeleteMy best b-day present was when my dad bought me my 2nd chihuahua, so that my 1st one didnt have to be alone. That DEFFINATELY the best gift ever. :D
Hugs, Daniela/Neliz

Not only do I love the change to win some candy... but the poster with the hair colors is AMAZING!
ReplyDeleteAny way we can color copy it for reference? Thank you!
My favorite bday gift has to be a set of Hidalgo stackable rings Dan gave me when the girls were born. my birthday is right in between both girls' birthdays. Later he added to my "little collection" and now I have a blue one with "x", a pink one with a bow, and red one with hearts ~ with guards and bands to mix and match.
Beautiful card!
ReplyDeleteFor my 50 years old a surprise wait me at home...all my family and my friends were there...with a "sushi cook" who made sushi in front us! It was formidable!
Thanks for the chance to win some great candy again!
Great candy! I'm an April Fool birthday girl, so I never know what my family and friends will try to pull over on me. Usually they are super sweet. My best bday was when my hubby whisked us away for the weekend (made all the plans himself and suprised me). It was pretty low key (we went to the Spam Museum) but just my type of adventure.
ReplyDeleteMy best birthday present was my 30th surprise birthday party thrown by my husband and best friend. Friends from another state came down and I was beyond surprised!
ReplyDeleteWell I too got engaged on my birthday. But my best birthday was 2 years ago. I came home from work to find a big banner hung in the archway in my kitchen made by my 4 year old-with help from his sister-my stepdaughter. He also made me a little card covered in stickers- I've been krogering! LOL As well as some of those freebie kind that come in the mail. Too cute.
ReplyDeleteGreat tutorial and AMAZING candy!!
My birthday is April 1st...so when I win this it will be the best birthday present evah! LOL! JK!
ReplyDeleteLOVE LOVE LOVE the card! SUPER PRETTY! Thanks you so much for the hair colors! All my people get the same 2 color combos that I think you shared at some other...so it will be nice to mix it up now! LOL!
Suzanne, WOW!! I still can't believe you've only been blogging for a year, you are just amazing. I love your work and I am so excited to be working with you for April at SCACD!

ReplyDeleteBest Birthday gift ever!! Easy, I met my husband of 20 years on "my sister's birthday - sept 2, 1988 (you didn't say it had to be MY birthday gift but my b-day was 2 days later). Love your little Head chart. Might want to copy right that!!!
ReplyDeleteMore great blog candy - wow
ReplyDeleteThe best birthday present I've received has to be my Bengal cat - Thomas - he's a brown spotted bengal and is absolutely beautiful.
Best wishes
Penni
Yowza! What a ton of great stuff! Thanks for the help with the hair colors :o)
ReplyDeleteMy best birthday present was my son 1 1/2 years ago - he was born 5 days after my 30th birthday. He is, of course, my world! :o) Thanks for the chance.
I know this sounds odd but it was a box of crayons. and nope i wasnt a little kid. I was 25 years old and I had been dating my current hubby for a couple of months and he didnt have a lot of money and wanted to get me something and when i opened the present and saw a 64 box of crayons i cried because he knew icollected crayons to color when i was stressed i had a bookshelf of coloring books that i colored in when i got upset to calm me down and it was the sweetest most thoughtful gift. I think I knew then I loved him and would forever.
ReplyDeleteGrats on blogaversary =)
this year (my birthday is in 6 days) my parents got me a cuttlebug, but theyre holding it hostage until my actual birthday. lol, but thats a pretty awesome gift!
ReplyDeleteLove the copic hair colors! I need to study that some to help me pick out more copic colors! :) My best bday present was last year, when I got my dayplanning business for my birthday!! :)

Thak you for the color combinations for the the "hair coloring", well, don't know if I really should be telling you thanks, cause now I have to spend more money :-). That was what I have been needing.
ReplyDeleteThe best Birthday gift I received was when my girls had a surprise birthday party for me for "a milestone" birthday. It was awesome walking in and seeing my very best friends, all with smiling faces. And I truly can say that it was a surprise, no warning whatsoever.
My best birthday ever was my 50th. My boyfriend took me to Hawaii. I was really dreading that birthday and it turned out to be the most wonderful! It was awesome.
ReplyDeletewyodudette@yahoo.com
Thanks for the copic hair color. I always struggle with blonde. It hard to pick a best birthday. My last one my hubby took me to dinner, we had a window seat looking at the ocean, and give me beautiful earrings.
ReplyDeleteHi Suzanne
ReplyDeleteHappy Blog a versary, Hehe
I would have to say the present that sticks out the most in my life to date that is my most favorite is : It was 10 years into my marriage to my hubby and he gave me the engagement ring that I would have loved when he proposed to me but it was not for our budget so on the year of our 10th anniversary instead of him waiting till October for the anniversary, he gave me the ring with sapphires on the sides for my September $th Birthday:-) He is such a sweetheart!
Michele spera
Absolutely love your creativity. Awesome cards! Love the hair colors too. My family isn't big on birthday except for my kids. So I don't have any favorites.
ReplyDeleteMy blog is: http://sherryscraftcorner.blogspot.com/
Oh, Happy Blogaversary! Such a beautiful card and I ended up getting that set free last week at Stamp New England and love it! My best birthday present was my 30th birthday. My daughter, Tiffany was born the day before I turned 30! She was born November 4th and I turned 30 November 5th. Best present I ever received!
ReplyDeleteHugs to you,
Susan
Thank you for the hair colors! I just use the same browns - how boring of me. I will definitely bookmark this.
ReplyDeleteThe best present I got was probably my laptop. I use it for blog surfing and getting inspiration. It's invaluable! I love it!!
My best birthday present ever received was when my DH and I went to Boca Raton Florida for my birthday (which is 27th December) and I spent the whole day being pampered by my brother in law and sister in law who used to live there and worked at the Boca Raton Resort Hotel. They'd arranged for me to have brunch at the Boca Raton Resort Hotel, went on a shopping spree finally ending up having a meal in the Boca Raton Resort Mizner Tower complete with stunning views and food to die for. My sister in law had made me a birthday cake too. This will always stick in my mind too.
ReplyDeleteThanks for a lovely opportunity to win some candy.
Jayne xx
My best birthday present was when my husband planned a day for me to be pampered at the spa. Afterwards we went gambling at the casino. And I WON!
ReplyDeleteTish
Thank you so much for the hair color chart! That is sooo helpful!
ReplyDeleteBest birthday present ever? That's hard, because I've had so many great ones...most memorable was probably a weekend trip to San Francisco with my mom (and no siblings!) when I turned 16. It was so fun staying in a hotel and eating out with just her and me; I'm in my 40's and I still remember that birthday :)
Well I always receive great gifts. This past year I received the entire SLICE by Making Memories machine, tools, case, and all cards for it. I also got a BIG SHOT machine. Guess my birthday being right around Sweetest day helps..hehe
ReplyDeleteHi Suzanne!
ReplyDeleteMy lovely boyfriend surprised me one year with tickets to the Phantom of the Opera! I absolutely loved the show! THanks for the chance at the blog candy!
Robin
Great blog candy! My favorite birthday present was a gorgeous opal ring when I turned 17. I was so dang surprised that my mom picked this out! (She's not a 'blingy' kind of person.) :)

What a FAB giveaway!!
ReplyDeleteI've linked it here.
My best birthday gift ver... Well, that's EASY! When I turned sixteen, my mom was in the hospital, having had surgery for cancer. She was supposed to stay for a bunch more weeks, but she talked the doctors into giving her a "vacation day" at home, because it was my birthday and she wanted to spend it with me...
Having her home, was without a doubt the most valued gift I ever have received.
Hiya Suzanne!!
ReplyDeleteThis is some yummy blog candy!! So exciting! Congrats on your 1 year by the way!! You have come very far and everyone loves your blog! Great work!
Best Birthday present ever?!! Okay long story short I was in the hospital the day before my birthday giving birth to my little guy Landon.. He came on October 3rd and whaddya know?? My birthday is October 4th!!!! He was the best gift I could ever receive!! :]
Brittany xx :]
I was surprised when I read how many of you ladies put down the best birthday present ever is the same as mine. It is so amazing, how many of us don't say the big diamond ring or the cruise..... My son was born 5 1/2 weeks before my birthday and to me that was the best birthday present ever.
ReplyDeleteSuzanne I love the wonderful card you made with the Life set. I made my first card with the set last night, too. Not as pretty as yours.
Thanks for all the great hair coloring tips.
Wow, some great blog candy you have selected.
Thank you so much for the blog candy opportunity. Ps. I love your copic tutorials, they are
ReplyDeletewonderful I printed all the ones that are in that format. so I can
refer while i am doing them.
My favorite bd. present was a card from my son that said Love Byron,
Angela, Garrett and "new Baby"
thank you
Jackie cole
The best birthday present I ever got was a nightgown from my Aunt. I was 13 and it was a silky one and I had always worn cotton pj's. It made me feel like I was grownup. Silly now but it is something that I will never forget.
ReplyDeleteHi suzanne, thank you for your haircoloring tutorial, it will help me with picking out new colors.
ReplyDeleteBest Bday present, has to come, next month and my hubby is buying me copics, and he doesn't know yet LOL
lot's of hugs from holland
More awesome blog-candy! I even loved the copic hair color chart. I'm definitely keeping that for my files!!!
ReplyDeleteHmmmm....best birthday gift? That's a hard one because I think all my birthdays are the best. Each birthday brings great gifts.
This year's gift was great because my hubby bought me MFT and Magnolia stamps. I spent the day at the zoo with my BFF - that was an awesome gift.
Hugs & good luck to all!!!
:)
Buffie
i just found your blog. love your stuff and the tutorials. as for my best birthday present ever it was from my mom and stepdad. i was so into barbie when i was younger as most girls are. we didnt have much money so my mom went around and found spare wood and someone had some carpet scraps and wallpaper scraps. they build me a barbie sized house. not the small size that you could buy lol. my mom also hand made furniture and appliances using plastic canvas. the house is long gone but i still have all the furniture and appliances.
ReplyDeleteMy best birthday present was could not be wrapped. My hubby headed a surprise 40th birthday party. Big pot luck, barbeque and best of all, so many wonderful friends.
ReplyDeleteSharon

ReplyDeleteAwesome candy! Congratulations again on your blogaversary! My favorite present ever was a beautiful emerald ring that my parents gave me for my 16th birthday. It is really tiny and gold, but it is very sentimental to me!
ReplyDeleteNancy Bush
mnmbush@bellsouth.net
Thanks Suzanne for the chart.
ReplyDeleteMy best birthday present, like some other ladies, was finding out I was pregnant, especially after miscarrying the year before.
AnnS
sebbyann@gmail.com
Hello Suzanne,
ReplyDeleteWow I can believe your candy. I would love to win as I don't have any of those things!!!!
My best Birthday Gift since I have been an adult was the surprise 50th Party my husband had for me. He is not the least into gifts or surprises or even affection in public - so this was a GREAT GIFT.
My best birthday ever was the year my husband sent me to Disney World ALONE! No kids, no husband...just me doing what I wanted to do for a change! It was awesome!!!! Judy (jtdizney@comcast.net)
ReplyDeleteI'm asking about the card from March 18.
ReplyDeleteI have got the promarkers and I use them on the same paper as used for colouring with distress inks but the result is not so intense like on your cards.
I bought the marker/layout paper, but it is so delicate, you can see the colour on the other side.
Even using the thicker paper underneath is not helping, you can see the glue.
Can you tell me what kind of paper you usually use?
my mail asiah18@interia.pl
The best Birthday present I ever got...what a tuff one. My hubby got me and SLR camera for my birthday about 10 years ago. I *loved* it. He is so nice he bought me a digital SLR for my birthday this year, and he even gave it to me early! (My b-day is not until May)
ReplyDeleteOMG Suzanne that card is STUNNING girlfriend! WOW...I am in awe and just want to keep staring at it all day! Beautiful work hun!!!! Love it! And THANK YOU so much for sharing your hair colors! I have the most difficult time with hair sometimes and I love to see what colors others use! I am so going to print that chart right now! I think I have all of your tutorials printed and in my binder! Thanks Teacher ;) Love ya for that!!! And thanks for the chance to win some more wonderful candy for your blogaversary! You are just the most kind and giving person that I know! I would love to get my inky hands on those WOJs...I didn't get a chance to order any of the newbies yet :( As for your birthday question...my favorite birthday gift....hmmm...that's a tough one! I love every birthday because I get to spend time with my family! However my favorite physical gift would have to be last year when my hubby took me shopping for my birthday and bought me everything that day! Got lots of new clothes, sandals, and a new purse (I am a shoe and purse freak)! It was lots of fun! Thanks for the chance to win sunshine!
ReplyDeleteHugs~ Kim
This is also a great candy!
ReplyDeleteI get my best present last year, my baby Sarah. She is born 7 June.
xAndrea
Wow! Great blog site today. Beautiful card... helpful hair chart... and GREAT candy! Thanks for all of it.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite birthday gifts was from my grown son a couple of years ago. He gave me a lovely wall clock for my living room, but I already had a small clock on my end table (which of course no one else could see or read). So I thought... this is sure pretty, but I don't NEED another clock. Well, my son let me know that yes I needed more than a wristwatch on a stand! So I kept it, put it up after a couple of weeks, and now I just LOVE that clock!! I smile every time I look at it.
Denise denimo@sbcglobal.net
Beautiful card! Thank you for the Copic hair color recommendations and samples. It's one thing to see the Copic numbers, but this is nice to see the samples too. As far as the best birthday present I ever received, I don't remember. I usually remember my birthdays for being able to spend time with my family. I've usually been able to stretch my birthday for about a week especially now having in-laws. Thanks for the chance to win the blog candy.
ReplyDeleteUrmmm.... money from my hubby =)
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, by far the hest birthday present i have ever received was last August for my big 3-0 my hubby bought me a Cannon Revel XSi...love it!!
ReplyDeleteHugs,Kelly
1st...let me say "THANK YOU" for the coloring tutorials!!!! I will surely be referring to them. As for the best birthday gift....it was more than 20 years ago. My hubby and I didn't have a lot of money, so he wrote me a poem describing my life. I Loved it!!! I still have the poem... Have a great day! And thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful & very elegant card. Thank you so much for the copic info. My most favorite present was the car I received on my 16th birthday. That was fun!!
ReplyDeleteA platinum diamond ring that was the exact replica of the fake one I'd been wearing. I'd gone through 2 of the fake ones and the hubby surprised me with the real deal! Best Birthday EVAH!
ReplyDeleteWhat fabulous colored heads! LOL!
ReplyDeleteI don't really have a "best" present I've ever received, however most often I get Barnes & Noble gift cards which is my favorite place to shop besides the craft places!
Congrats again on your 1 year blogaversary!
I can't think of a best present, but now that they no longer happen, I know that my best birthdays were when a huge group of my family was able to be together to celebrate my birthday. I miss that!
ReplyDeleteSwedie
Can you tell me which puncher do you use? :D
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited to have found your blog today! You're very talented!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite bday gift seems materialistic...but the thought behind it made it sentimental. A couple years ago I wanted a Wii...and they were nowhere to be found in stores. My best friend and husband conspired and found that her sister's boyfriend had 2 and was willing to sell one for normal retail price. He surprised me with the Wii and she surprised me with a Wii controller. It was very cute.
I just bookmarked your blog...thanks for your wonderful posts and blog candy :)
Jayma
My best birthday present would have to be the grandson born the day before my birthday. He and I always celebrate together. This is my first visit to your blog. I love it. I signed up for updates too.
ReplyDeleteChristina D
cnd2006@windstream.net
I would have to say that my best gift was the birth of my first grandchild, he was born 10 days before my birthday and I was there to witness the miracle, an experience I will never forget. Today I have 16 grandchildren with another on the way and each one is as special as the other. Never ceases to amaze me.
ReplyDeleteHappy blogaversary..awesome i love your blog..the best present that had to be celebrating with the whole family.(my bday is christmas)
ReplyDeleteWow ~ really had to think about this. It would have to be the year my daughter who was in high school at the time, arranged to have my family come over to celebrate. She cleaned the house, cooked all the food and then cleaned up after everyone went home.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win. I tried opening the pdf files and my computer didn't like them. I'll have to ask my husband to figure out why.
The very best Birthday present was my Sweet 16th. My boy friend at the time (latter my husband) gave me the most beautiful Sterling Silver Wine/champagne Chiller. It was such a thoughtful gift. I felt so grown up...it's funny when I think of it now. I still have it and we use it for big events. Like at both of my Childrens Bride/Groom Tables, when they were married. For anniversary and various Holidays over the years. It truly was a very thoughtful gift and I get giddy and teary eyed both when I think of it now.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance at the very thoughtful blog candy.
Cynde
My favorite birthday present is my Gizmo (my 1/2 Maltese, 1/2 Chihuahua baby) that my husband suprised me with about 6 years ago. The gift that keeps on giving.

Happy Blogaversary Suzanne! My best b-day gift was given to me last year. It was a whole day to myself. The DH watched them & I was able to play in my craft room without interuption. That's a rarity & real treat with 3 lil guys!

Thanks for the "tutes" on the hair colors! These are always a challenge and this is like a gift!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite birthday present was...on my 40th birthday, DH threw a surprise party for me at a private club and the kicker was that he flew in one of our best friends from Seattle, WA to dj for the event and to share in my birthday. It was the best!
Hugs, Marsha
Great blog candy! I can't think of what my very best birthday present was, but my most recent one was a few weeks ago...my hubby gave me a ring that looks like an anniversary ring, but is made with aquamarines (my birthstone). He took me back to where he first proposed and proposed again and gave me the ring. It's really special, because he NEVER gives me jewelry.
ReplyDeleteConnie K.
Happy Blogaversary! Great blog candy! :)
ReplyDeleteThis is a tough one, but I think my fave birthday present ever received was a beautiful custom-made ring that my DH gave me a few years ago. It's hard to choose cuz my DH is a great gift-giver. :)
My best birthday present ever was a set of matching bookcases that my husband made himself. They are absolutely beautiful and it means so much that he made them himeself... just like a homemade greeting card or gift! Happy Blogaversary!
ReplyDeleteWOW! Another great blog candy!
ReplyDeleteThe best birthday present? I don't really know, I really have received lots of great presents. But the one the comes to mind is the first present my now dh gave me. It's a necklace with a golden heart which has a rose in it. I still wear it after 15 years!!
My favorite bday present was a small scrapbook my daughter made for me, with pictures of her and I together on every page.
ReplyDeleteWow, you've outdone yourself again with generosity and beautiful cards! I don't see how to leave my email addy so I left my SCS name, just in case I'm the lucky gal. My best bday present was also exactly 1 month after our wedding, and dh surprised me with tickets to "Tony & Tina's Wedding." It was a hoot, and like being at a wedding all over again
ReplyDeleteThe best birthday present I ever got was a computer! Sorry nothing too exciting but I'm still using it so i'm happy =) Thanks for doing this candy!!
ReplyDeleteWow, awesome blog candy...and purple is my most favorite color!
ReplyDeleteThe best birthday present I ever got was on my 40th birthday - my friend surprised me with a visit the weekend of my birthday. She took me out for manicures and pedicures the night she got here, and then took me to a day spa the next day for a facial, massage, and a hair cut and color. Lovely!!

THANKS so much for the help with hair colors! Your card is beautiful. I missed buying the set before they ran out, so mine should be here today or Monday. My favorite birthday? I am thankful for each one, and there have been so many now (47), but when I turned 40, my mother made a huge cake (she decorates professionally) that looked like a Longaberger basket (I sell them), with my picture on it from grade school. She brought it to work and surprised me with it! Pretty neat.

Thanks so much for the haircolor chart!! I must say that all my birthdays have been my favorite!! I have been fortunate to spend each one with my all my family and close friends so that is the part that makes it special! Thanks again for the chance to win! Purple is my favorite color!!
ReplyDeleteWow....this was an easy question for me! My favorite birthday present was for my 40th birthday. My dad had asked me a few months earlier if there was ever something I really wanted to do but never had. Well, ever since I was a kid I had always wanted to ride in an open cockpit biplane. Shortly before my birthday I had gone to visit my parents in Florida and sure enough, they had arranged for one of their friends to take me out in an open cockpit biplane. Flying down Daytona Beach just out over the water with the warm wind and smell of the ocean was amazing! That turned out to be the start of a new hobby for me, flying.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win such amazing blog candy!
Hugs,
Deana
Thanks for the chance to win some great candy.
ReplyDeleteI think my best birthday was when my husband (then boyfriend) took me to Peigon Forge TN, on my first ever vacation. we had the msot wondeful time.
My best birthday was when I was 28, had finally met my real Mother and she sent me a glass owl because I had commented how much I love them.. It was so exciting to recieve a present from her! But moreso to have her in my life.
ReplyDeleteGreat blog candy!! Love your site. I would have to say that one of the best birthday gifts I have gotten was for this past birthday. My husband gave me $100 to buy what ever I wanted....I went an ordered more copics that I wanted to get....he knew that too....said I was better off picking the colors I wanted.

Blogcandy #2 My best b'day present ever was a pair of use ice skates. My sisters got new ones and I got used. It took them forever to get them broke in and I was skating and they were setting on the bench. Loved it!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is some great blog candy.
Love your blog.
bbarker@tc3net.com
Congrats on your blog anniversary. My best b-day present was a pair of gold hoops from Tiffany's for my 50th b-day. Thank you for the opportunity to win some blog candy.
ReplyDeleteMy best b'day gift? I still recall a cake that my aunt made for me when I was around 10. It had a beautiful doll on top, and her beautiful big dress was made from icing. It was the prettiest cake I had ever seen! Thank you for the chance, and congrats again!
ReplyDeleteWOW! this is probably the BEST blog candy EVER!!!
ReplyDeleteBest Bday present? I have 2. As a child my favorite was a Laurie Walker doll. She was tall enough that I held her hand as I walked and if I walked VERY slowly, her legs would alternate and she would walk with me. My poor Dad was sooooooooo patient and actually let me bring her on vacation one year AND walk her the whole time.
Second best is as an adult. My DH bought me the QK pink Squeeze when they first came out. I didn't know he even knew what they were let alone I wanted one!
Oh my heaven again with that card and its superb candy once again
ReplyDeletethanks for sharing it all Toni
Wonderful candy! My favorite birthday present was the trip to Atlantic City for my 21st birthday. :)
ReplyDeleteOne of my best birthday presents ever was this past year. We had spent my birthday at a funeral and traveling home so there wasn't a lot of celebrating. We'd also spent a lot of money on this unexpected trip. I told my husband that I didn't need anything. A few days after we got back, he said he needed to run up to the school for a bit. He came home with two pies from Village Inn and as I was eating a piece, then presented me with a gift card to Hobby Lobby. So sweet.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win your great blog candy.
I think my best birthday ever was many, many years ago on my 21st, when my then boyfriend took me to San Francisco to see theater in the round and out to dinner. Legally we could even have champagne to celebrate my birthday.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the Copic Hair coloring chart. It is great!
carrie008@mac.com
Awesome candy. Congrats again!! I couldn't pinpoit one present but this is what I feel/think on each birthday. The best birthday present I can get is to be there to enjoy the day with family and friends. I've made it another year to see my darling grandsons grow into young men, to spend another year with my DH and for my adult children to kiss me goodbye/love you, after visiting. Oh, and the scrappy presents I receive!! LOL

I think the best birthday present I ever got was a set of new wedding rings that was an anniversary/birthday gift together since they are so close together.
ReplyDeletemy best birthday present was.....a pearl necklace from my parents and a cape cod ring from my boyfriend. I'm low maintenance so I'm pretty psyched about stamps and markers. The jewelry was a nice surprise.
ReplyDeleteMy best birthdaypresent was last year when my best friend could come.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the hair tutorial. It looks great and I'm going to try to make a brunette.
Have a nice weekend.
I saw your tutorials on you tube and found my way here.
ReplyDeleteI have just ordered a bunch of copic's and cant wait to try them out. Your blog and video's are so helpful!
My favorite birthday?? I would have to say my trip to Ireland in 2006. It wasn't the warmest, but everything was still green and we saw tons of rainbows. We stayed on the lower side of the island, but saw everything from the cliffs of mohr, to Dublin and everything in between. On my birthday, we sat in a pub and I had chocolate cake and an Irish coffee. Hands down, my favorite birthday!

ReplyDeleteMy best and most favorite birthday present was the tan toy puppy that my uncle gave me. It was my very own toy and he let me pick it out all by myself. I grew up in a household of 4 kids, and being the middle child, I always had to share or own hand-me-downs. When I first got to pick out my own toy, I was so overjoyed. To a 12-yr old that was the greatest present ever. I remember having to share my other toys with my siblings later on but it just so great b/c it's mine's. Thanks for sharing with us!
ReplyDeleteCammyV
My best birthday present was when my second son was born (3 weeks before my birthday) and my husband took me out to dinner, and then for cake- and there was the baby!! they surprised me and brought him to the restaurant. I was so excited and happy. Now he is in college!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite birthday present was when my husband took me to the California Grill atop the Contemporary Hotel at Disney World. We had a wonderful view of the Magic Kingdom. During dinner we were able to see the fireworks from our table. Also the chef made me a special chocolate mousse cake which was so delicious. Spending time with my husband, a wonderful dinner, fireworks and chocolate. . . it's an evening that I will always remember.

ReplyDeleteWOW!!!! Great candy, again. I hope I'm doing this right. I submitted a comment last night but do not see it. Anyway, best birthday present - it has to be the iPod I received from my oldest daughter last year. Love it - have my music and books everywhere I go and can listen to my music while crafting without disturbing the other person in this house. I love your blog, Suzanne. So inspirational. You are so creative and make such professional looking projects. And the tutorials and other informationa, so helpful. :)

Hi,
ReplyDeleteLove your Blog. Sorry about the above deleted comment. (Bit of a dinosaur).
The best Birthday present I've ever had was on my fourtieth B/day.
The birth of our baby daughter, Katelyn. She was a little opps after our third son fourteen years her senior. How thrilled I was, the first girl born on my husbands side for over 100yrs. She is now 10
For me she will always be the best B/day present I have ever had.

Gorgeous candy and thanks for the chance to win this. This is a toughie as nothing really exciting happens on my birthday except last year my DH bought me a load of promarker pens. Sorry sounds very boring doesn't it, lol. I've added a link onto my sidebar. Michele x
ReplyDeleteI would have to say my big shot that my hubby bought me usually he doesn't have a clue when i say i would like some craft stuff but apparently i had left a page up by accident on the internet whilst looking at the big shots and he had read and looked into one and it turned up on my birthday all wrapped up with a beautiful. ReplyDeleteHi Suzanne! I'd have to say my best birthday gift was last year when I got my Cuttlebug, but really anything card-making related thrills me! :)
ReplyDeleteMy best birthday present was my daughter and grandchildren coming down from Maine to surprise me.
ReplyDeleteIt took them 5 hours to get here and I had no idea they were coming.
Family is EVERYTHING!
Gosh, two things put to my mind.
ReplyDeleteOne would be a small golden ring with al little diamond my father gave to me when I turned 16. It was saver than a scooter ;-) I still were it every day, even 23 years later. It allways reminds me of the good times with him (he died a year after my 16'th Bday).
The second would be on my last B day, two weeks ago. It was a card from my husband, saying he loved me as much as the first day and he hoped to grow old with me.
I guess the joy is in the small things in life :D
My best birthday present was probably the time that my boyfriend (who is now my husband) flew my best friend into town from CO to spend the weekend with me. Then he also planned a surprise party with all the rest of my best friends from college. It was wonderful because I missed them all so much!
ReplyDeleteThe best birthday present I ever received was my little sister. She was born one day before my 3rd birthday! Of course I didn't always think of her as the best birthday gift while we were growing up. LOL... but boy, I sure do now!
ReplyDeleteMy hubby bought 2 tickets to Key West for a week. We had a blast!!!
ReplyDeleteHi, thanks for the candy, my best present I think, was a gold heart with an emerald in the middle,so precious and my sister gave to me when I turned 16.TFS....Gina
ReplyDeleteMy best present was $$$ to buy scrapbooking supplies. :)
ReplyDeleteSmiles,
Brandi
P.S. Thanks for the chance to win!
I love what a friendly place your blog is! You can tell this brings you a lot of joy and I hope it continues to do so. Thank you for the hair samples and color schemes.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite birthdays started five years ago. I had met a group of birthday sisters and we all scrapbooked together. It turned out we were all March birthday babies. Our birthday's being the 22-23-25-29. We got to celebrate together for two years before we all were scrattered as our husbands received orders..even though we all live around the country now, we will always share this bond and have each other to celebrate with.
This year is probably going to be my most cherished birthday, I am alive and out of the hospital and home with my whole family, getting spoiled with presents my children made for me on their own (I think presents made from the heart are the best ever) and they are 3, 9 and 14 and all of my Grandparents being with me too (they are 85-87 and 90). It was such a blessing and I am grateful for so much. An amazing husband who supports everything I dream about doing or trying. My mom being with me to take care of me during my recovery because we can to share stories, look at pictures and bond. My dad for sharing my mom with me until I can take care of my family on my own again. My siblings and their families and I have the best friends ever too.
Smiles and Blessings

ReplyDeleteBest Birthday present I ever had was when my family had a birthday party for me. Sort of a welcome back to the family sort of party. I was on the outs with them and had not seen them for aprox 5 mos. they welcomed me back with open arms and forgave me. That was the best ever I could have hoped for
ReplyDeleteMy best birthday present was 34 1/2 years ago when I got a cookie jar from my now-husband. It was in my Pfaltzgraf pattern, Yorktowne, and my husband said that I needed to keep the cookie jar full for him. He said, "See if there are any cookies in it now." I looked inside and there was an engagement ring. We will celebrate our 35th in Nov. pat neihejp@att.net
ReplyDeleteAs my birthday is in December my mother took me to a Christmas market in Germany a couple of years ago. We had so much fun that day so we repeat it every year since then. Thanks for a chance to win! Greetings from Belgium, Annelies

My best present was a CD my daughter had burned for me and the playlist that explained why she had chosen every song.
ReplyDeleteMy best B-day present was when my boyfriend (now hubby) took me for an evening cruise in his sailboat. During the cruise he had given me several gifts, which included a diamond ring...then he delivered an awesome proposal! Of course I said "YES!"
ReplyDeleteMy best birthday... hmm..
ReplyDeleteSeveral years ago, my husband and both my children cooked me breakfast in bed.
They were the most salty, disgusting pancakes I have ever eaten and I will cherish every bite of them until the day I die.
The best birthday present I've had is probably when my DH (then boyfriend) flew in to visit me. We had a great time and also decided that week that we wanted to get married so we took unofficial engagement photos on my birthday. :)
ReplyDeleteThe best birthday gift was my replacement wedding ring. After having my kids, my wedding ring got stuck on my finger. When I finally got it off, I was afraid to put it back on. My hubby got me a new, stunning, wedding ring for my birthday. I love it and get lots of comments.
ReplyDeleteJulie
