Rainy Days

Good evening everyone! It's a blah, dreary, rainy Monday here in Virginia. I hate Mondays and I hate the rain--I just want spring and the sun to come! One day I will live somewhere where it's warm and sunny all of the time (dream...). After taking most of the day to finish catching up on my chores, I finally got to do some stamping. I thought this stamp set from My Favorite Things fit the bill today. I used my paper from Paper Trey Ink again--I just love the color combos, so soft and pretty. I like to paper piece my images from time to time to change things up. The rest of the image I watercolored and added some bling, umm.. I mean sparkles to the puddle with my favorite, stickles (see how much I love em'). I finally used some baubles that I have had sitting around--thought they made good raindrops. Nice big raindrops, like the ones that always seem to fall on my head from roofs and then drip down my face (see how much I love the rain):(
I hope you enjoy your evening and that it is nice and dry where you are.

Card Creations

Good afternoon everyone! I stayed up too late playing in my craft room last night and now I'm paying the price with a lovely migraine :( I had gotten a new shipment of stamps from SU and I had to get them mounted so I could ink them up and play! I would love it if all their stamps were already cut and ready to go--it would make it alot easier!

I have really been into making cards lately that don't fit the standard card size lately. I made the dog in the washtub and that inspired me to make today's card. I think I will use this in my class I'm having to make Mother's Day cards--I have an adults class once a month and a kids class ( 7 & up) and we make 4 projects pertaining to that month or holiday coming up. I thought that this would be a fun card to make. I created my own flowerpot template and cut it from SU cardstock and inked it up with the choc. chip inkpad. I used Prima's flowers and sprites (I love their flowers & All That Scraps has a great selection), including cutting up a green flower for the leaves. I embellished the flowers with buttons and brads and some stickles in the centers--gotta love those stickles, I use them in everything :D The ribbon is from Michael's and the stamp is from SU's Taggers Dozen. It was a pretty quick card to make thankfully. This will probably be my only creation today. I need to get out of my pjs and do some chores!

Thanks for stopping by.

Just 1 more...

I know, ya'll must think I'm crazy posting so much in one day. But this card just excited me and I had to share. I actually was thinking about this card last night in bed, when I was supposed to be sleeping & not thinking about "card" ideas, but I don't sleep much anyway--LOL! Anyone that knows me, knows how much I love animals (I'm the proud momma of 2 dogs & 4 cats). I have a new puppy, Baylee (she'll be 1 in June) and she hates baths, which made me think of creating this card. I love this new set I ordered from Close to My Heart called Puppy Love (I also ordered Purr.fect it's kitty cousin) and thought this puppy face would look really cute encased in bubbles. I created my own template for the washtub card and punched bubbles of all sizes with my SU punches. I outlined the washtub with my grayglitter markers from American Crafts (love em') and added bubblies with Liquid Applique . The handles are a pair of clips I've had for awhile, not sure of the brand. I just think it turned out so cute--I promise I won't post anymore until tomorrow.
Have a great night!!

Saturday cards

I made this card today for Lauren Meader's sketch challenge. I have had this SU set for awhile, but had yet to ink it up. I love the colors in this. The bugs have stickles on their wings to make them shine. I embossed the blue with a cuttlebug embossing folder. The striped paper is by Diecuts with a View and the solids are from SU. Cute card for a boy, I think...
If you visit my blog regulary or visit my gallery on SCS you will quickly find out that I love , love my "bellas" from Stamping Bellas. I think they are so much fun to create with. I actually started this card with this patterned paper from K&Company's Berry Sweet line. I loved the color combo. I colored my billboardabella with glitter markers (American Crafts) and SU markers. I added a little bling with stickles--my girls have to have their bling!! The flowers are from Prima and I cut out my images with my "new" Nestabilities that I love. I finally was able to get some from Paper Trey Ink, when they released them at midnight the other day. Wheww.. now I want more! LOL

Inspiration

Good afternoon! I hope everyone is having a great Saturday. I'm having a stamping day, since my daughter is at a friend's for the night and my son & DH are out having a "father & son" day. My craft room is a disaster and so far I've finished off 2 cherry cokes and 5 cards!

I was thinking about my inspiration earlier and thought I'd share my thoughts. I have been stamping and scrapbooking on and off for over 6 years. I finally have a beautiful, dedicated hobby room and I've really rediscovered my passion for stamping. I had never been on a blog until 2 months ago when I discovered Lauren Meader's blog and I've been hooked ever since. Seeing other's stamp art has really got my creative juices flowing and kicked my butt into gear to stretch my imagination and art. I love seeing and learning about everyone's stamp art--I think it's such an inspiration to see women dedicated to their passion and share it with others. I hope someone will find my art inspirational and light their passion too.

Have a great weekend!

This is a fun card I made using The Cats Pajamas stamps--I think they're so cute--and of course I love anything with a kitty or dog on it. The paper is from Imaginisce--called Mayan Nights and I love it because the colors are all black & white. The pink paper is from SU and I stamped it with a polka dot stamp in black ink. The sentiment is from SU too. Just fun!!

This was my entry for the SCS challenge, to make a flap card. Everything I used is from Paper Trey Ink--I love these colors together, so soft and pretty. The card stays shut with a small magnet under the monogram. I made my own template and it was pretty quick to assemble after that.

Addictions

Hi everyone! I'm still trying to figure out this blogging thing--slowly but surely my blog will evolve. I wish I could just have someone come and help me with it.

I am letting it be known that I am a scrapbook product addict. I read others blogs and see new products and have to have it. I'm not sure when I'll have enough, if ever, much to my husband's dismay. My biggest concern every month is what he'll have to say about the Amex bill that comes-LOL! I'm sure there are other "addicts" out there--I'd love to hear from you.

I am currently working on some swaps that I have signed up for. Sometimes I feel so much pressure to make sure my swaps are perfect and unique that I get "scrappers block". I have been passing by my craft room all day waiting for "divine" inspiration...I'm still waiting. I will go in and play after the kids get home from school, so we'll see. I am also a soda addict, with Cherry Coke being my fave. I can't create w/o it--I'm trying to cut back, but not much luck so far. I will be taking in a big glass soon & we'll see if my creativity kicks in--LOL!!

Take care!

First Blogging Experience

Hi everyone! This is my first blog post--I love reading other blogs and thought it was about time to have one myself. I seem to have a lot to say, but not always someone to say it too--or at least understand me. I love to stamp and papercraft and will have samples and more in the days to come. My very loving husband and kids don't always get my passion, but they are always supportive (except when the Amex bill comes anyway).

I hope you will join me on my new adventure and leave me comments--I love to hear what everyone thinks.
